The Laredo ISD school board passed a resolution in naming the grammar school building the "Urbahn Grammar School" in honor of Mr. Albert Urbahn. Urbahn Grammar School was named in honor of a well known Laredo philanthropist and general benefactor Mr. Albert Urbahn. September 1917 is when Urbahn Grammar School had their first school session.
