Some history of the Miller-Gillen House in Juneau, Alaska explored.

This news article will explore the history behind one of the lesser known houses in Juneau, Alaska called the Miller-Gillen House.

The Miller-Gillen House is a 1½ story wood frame structure sided with wood shingles and features a chamfered corner open porch. It has a moderate pitch gabled front and two shed dormers. Juneau merchants Koehler and James owned houses on this lot as early as 1901. Both of them owned what was to become locally known as  the Miller-Gillen House for which reached to a period of longevity extending to what was almost 10 years. Juneau merchants Koehler and James sold their property to George F. Miller in 1910.

George F. Miller would own this house from 1910 to 1924. This house would become known as Miller-Gillen House during the period he owned this house and property. He then sold the property to his sister Elizabeth Miller Clark in 1924. Elizabeth Miller Clark sold property to James Gillen, a miner, in 1925. James Gillen sold the property to Margret Roden in 1936. Margret Roden is the current owner of this property.
