“It has the public utilities of an excellent electric light plant and a splendid water system. Hondo's present water supply is obtained from a well 1,500 feet in depth. An inexhaustible supply within 100 feet of the surface from whence it is pumped by power. The water is pure, sparkling, healthful and wholesome for drinking and culinary purposes and is ample in quantity for fire protection. The Hondo Deep Well Co., which is the corporate name of the water company, has recently purchased the necessary pipe and machinery to sink another well to a depth of 2,000 feet, and work is now being prosecuted on this project. It is hoped to encounter an artesian flowing strata which would be able benefit to the community.”
