The abandoned gas station site on Eighth Avenue North in one of several brownfield sites in the city of Bessemer, Alabama. The city of Bessemer has been awarded a 2020 Brownfield Assessment Grant by the EPA United States (Environmental Protection Agency). The funding will pay for Phase I and Phase II environmental assessment of the property. The city will do a Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments of the abandoned gas station.
