Mixerr Album Reviews #701

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will review the Wajumbe - Livin’ For De Riddim’. Livin’ For De Riddim’ was released on cassette in 1990. Wajumbe is a reggae band from Austin, Texas.

You Should Dub Me Now is a reggae dub melody song possibly dedicated to the reggae dub sound. The reggae dub sound is very prevalent in You Should Dub Me Now. This is one of those reggae melodies to dance and groove to. You Should Dub Me Now is a song alcoholics will enjoy for the years to come! You Should Dub Me Now is very roots reggae oriented.

JuJu Attack is a reggae attack song laced on within reggae melody. This is one of those reggae melodies to dance and groove to. The reggae dub sound is very prevalent in JuJu Attack as well as was the case with You Should Dub Me Now. JuJu Attack gives out good dance vibes though. Think good vibes.

For some reason, Desert Passages gives out bad vibes and good vibes at the same time simultaneously. Desert Passages gives out bad vibes in other words. Bad juju. Note the guitars and percussion. Desert Passages is somewhat similar to JuJu Attack though.

Cyberpunk masters the funk sound laced on top of rock and roots reggae. The funk element is very well prevalent in Cyberpunk.

Back to Negril is an instrumental track with live sounds. Note the guitars and percussion. Back to Negril is quite similar Desert Passages.

I rate this album, Livin’ For De Riddim’, 4/5****.
