Wrangell Hotel is one of the many forgotten, lesser known hotels of Alaska. Many newspapers have reported about Stikine Hotel. Even though Stikine Hotel was not as well-remembered as Wrangell Hotel. This news article will explain and examine the history of Stikine Hotel.
This 2½ story was built in 1898 with a modified false front building with a shed roof by brew master Bruno Greif to house his beer hall, which he operated from 1898 to 1910. Fort Wrangel Brewery Beer Hall/Fort Wrangell Brewery Beer Hall was owned and operated by Bruno Greif. Fort Wrangel Brewery Beer Hall/Fort Wrangell Brewery Beer Hall was constructed to serve the fort and small town of Wrangell, Alaska.

Stikine Hotel was originally the Fort Wrangel Brewery Beer Hall/Fort Wrangell Brewery Beer Hall. Fort Wrangell Brewery Beer Hall was owned and operated by Bruno Greif. Brothers Anselme Lemieux and Antime Lemieux purchased the restaurant property from Bruno Greif in 1909 thus gaining full ownership. Anselme Lemieux and Antime Lemieux operated Stikine Hotel at this location from 1910 to 1924. Stikine Hotel had a saloon which served beer. The saloon at Stikine Hotel operated from 1910 to 1917. This hotel was operated by the Lemieux Brothers. Stikine Hotel was located opposite from the Tannhauser. According to the Lethbridge Herald, Stikine Hotel was razed in 1947 due to a fire which burned the entire hotel structure down. Rebuilding was not possible due to the huge loss. So this effectively put an end to Stikine Hotel. Stikine Hotel shut down and was dissolved in 1947. The origin of the fire was not known.
