Mixerr Album Reviews #705

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will review BODK - Under Surveillance.

BODK is Brothers Of A Different Kind, a rap group from Flint, Michigan. This EP was released in 1993 on Different Kind Records. This EP only has 5 songs along with an Intro and an Outro. This album features Ryan Swims too! Nuke Jones too.

The song Mandatory will remind you of a heavy hitting hard ass bass song that Esham, Sonny Bo, or The Dayton Family would do! It's a real dark acid rap song about why BODK adheres to the standards of ghetto street living codes to such gruesome activities such as murder, unconsented sexual contact, and home invasion. The song shows no solutions or answers to the problems BODK faces and explains. DJ R kills it!

Out On My Hook Up has one sick ass bass line especially at the end! Lost Soul showcases his skills. It's a song about raping bitches, killing all pussy ass niggaz, and punk ass MC's. Note the Fleetwood Mac sample behind the beats.

I rate this EP, Under Surveillance, 5/5*****!
