Willie Nelson - 16 Biggest Hits album review
This album has got to be Willie Nelson's best album so far. It has my favorite song On The Road Again. It has all the greatest songs from 1970 to 2000. There’s no doubt that the 70s, 80, and 90s were the best decades for Willie Nelson! Over 70 years old and Willie Nelson can still prove to his loyal fans that his songwriting skills are still relevant in todays music market. Willie Nelson proves to be still relevant in todays music market.
It balances happiness and sadness. Great guitar skills too! Most of these songs were well written as BillBoard Magazine and Pitchfork Media had extensively described. Blend in Country, Blues, Rock, Jazz, and pop genres along with other elements and the result is this album.
5/5*****!

Nicole Wray - Make It Hot album review
For those who don't know who Nicole Wray is, she was the first artist to sign to Missy Elliott's Goldmind Inc. in 1998 other than Missy herself with Timbaland's production team Timbaland and Magoo. Also of course with Gina Thompson. She and Missy were from Portsmouth, Virginia.
Nicole had a blazing hot song called Make It Hot which hit #7 on the BillBoard! The next song that hit the BillBoard was I Can't See. The third song Eyes Better Not Wander did not do as well because it was a slow jam with no fast paced beats by Timbaland. That song was produced by Smokey of Playa. Most of Make It Hot was filled with love ballads and love songs.
Timbaland produced 25% of Make It Hot. Suga Mike produced 10%. Dent produced a chunk of songs for Make It Hot too. Playa (Smokey & Static Major) produced a significant portion of Make It Hot even though the Timbaland sound is more present and prevalent. Missy did the rest herself of course. She was responsible for promoting Nicole Wray during her career at Goldmind and Elektra. Most of Make It Hot was filled with love ballads and love songs. The album is filled with sultry love songs written by a handful of songwriters.
The Time Is Now (Intro) is Missy Elliott explaining why this album is hot and off the chain. Missy herself explains the album is “blazing hot”. She performs her usual ad-lib raps and funky noises with her mouth. Nicole sings riffs in the background chorus. Nicole’s presence is not as huge as Missy’s despite this intro being on her debut album. Missy takes most of the spotlight as she herself is all over the intro for this album sampler
The Time Is Now (Intro) was produced by Dent in California in 1998. Although Dent, a producer from California, is credited as the producer for The Time Is Now (Intro) in the liner notes, Missy Elliott takes most of the spotlight as she herself is all over the intro for this album sampler.
Seventeen was written and produced by Missy Elliott as she herself is all over the song. Nicole sings and raps on Seventeen. The song called Seventeen samples Call Me by Skyy. Yes the band Skyy. Nicole and Missy often take credit for Seventeen.
Seventeen should have had a music video to accompany the song. Seventeen should have been chosen as a single instead of Eyes Better Not Wander because the song was more upbeat and Missy Elliott was all over it. With Missy Elliott being all over the song, it would have been a smart business move to further both her career and Nicole's. Missy Elliott was the Ariana Grande of her day. Make It Hot would been a further overnight success if Elektra chose Seventeen to be chosen as a buzz single for her debut album. Seventeen would have been a guaranteed success if Timbaland produced it.
The song I Can’t See was produced by Timbaland and of course Missy Elliott. I Can’t See hit #7 on the BillBoard for a hot minute there in 1999! The song of course is another love song written by a handful of skilled songwriters. Missy, rapper Mocha, and Nicole Wray are all over I Can’t See. This song is sultry in nature. Mocha with her wack raps don’t really help make the song stand out and prosper the most, but Missy and Nicole do.
The prelude to I Can't See should have been incorporated into the regular song instead being separated from the original I Can't See song as a separate track. Without You from the Why Do Fools Fall In Love soundtrack should have replaced the prelude to I Can't See.
Interestingly enough, Timbaland was not all over I Can’t See as he was on the song Make It Hot. His vocal presence is missing on I Can’t See. His voice should have been included as the male background chorus and background vocals as well.
Her song Eyes Better Not Wander was a memorable favorite among Nicole Wray fans. Despite that, Eyes Better Not Wander did not do as well because it was a slow jam with no fast paced beats by Timbaland. That song was produced by Smokey of Playa. Smokey produced hot steamy love songs such as this one, Raise Your Frown, and Testing Our Love (Suga).
Eyes Better Not Wander is a mellow, loopy, and sultry slow jam notable for its slow vibe. The slow vibe follow the beats perfectly. The beats alone are consistent in terms of following the song. Echoes gives this song a slow feel.
Eyes Better Not Wander did not Nicole justice in terms of charting. Eyes Better Not Wander charted at #69 which eventually fell of the charts quickly. By 1999, the general public was tired of sultry slow jams and wanted more glamorous upbeat pop songs and raunchy R&B songs. That can be attributed to why Eyes Better Not Wander fell off the charts quickly. Eyes Better Not Wander should have been saved for Elektric Blue instead of Make It Hot.
Pressure was an interesting interlude/skit that producer Dent and Nicole were all over. The song is 1 minute and 11 seconds long with the duration time being 1:11. Slow and sultry are words to describe. Pressure should have been made into a full song. There is no reason why should not have been a short song instead.
In fact, Pressure sounds like an unreleased Nicole Wray song even if it is a minute an 11 seconds long. Nicole Wray fans can vouch for me here on this one.

Make It Hot was the jam that had everyone dancing bobbing their heads to back in 1998! Make It Hot was the jam back in 1998! Nicole had a blazing hot song called Make It Hot which hit #7 on the BillBoard in 1998 for a hot minute there.
Timbaland produced Make It Hot. The beats were both upbeat and crazy as Timbaland's beats had everyone going nuts back in the day. Missy Elliott made it both spicy and sassy with her ad lib raps as she was all over the place at the very end even though former female rapper Mocha took most of the spotlight at the very beginning of Make It Hot. Kelly Price harmonized the vocals with her angelic singing.
She focused more on the single Make It Hot rather than the album which is why her debut was a commercial failure despite having a couple of hot songs. Fans focused on the single rather than the actual album. In the end, it was Nicole Wray got the unfair deal in the music business. She had to suffer the consequences of being dropped by Goldmind Inc. and Elektra Records. Luckily, she is now signed to Truth & Soul Records (known for Lee Fields fame) with Terri Walker (of Def Jam fame) in a duo called Lady.

Nicole Wray - Elektric Blue album review
Nicole Wray came back with her sophomore effort called Elektric Blue in 2001. The Elektric Blue album rich and sultry in terms of soul. Not to mention soulful.
Elektric Blue is the intro and title track to the album. When you’re feeling down, you must reach out and feel Elektric Blue. When you’re having doubts, you must reach out and feel Elektric Blue. That’s what Nicole Wray instructs us to do when feeling down or in doubt. Elektric Blue was the beginning of the Elektric Blue album.
Hearing the introduction of Elektric Blue is an angelic breathtaking experience. The ballad is quite soulful and rich in sultry.
I'm Lookin' is a late night love song. You might have remember seeing the music video for this song on Midnight Love on BET back in 2001. I'm Lookin' is one of those late night cruise songs to listen to at night. DJ Eddie F produced I’m Lookin’.
Nicole Wray is looking for someone to love and hold on to. She’s looking for you. She’s looking for someone she can trust. But she has not someone for herself truly for her. Nicole wants to be like everyone else who’s dating. Well, Nicole wonders if she’ll ever be complete.
Mama Used To Say (No Joke) samples Mama Used To Say by 80's British electronic musician Junior. In fact, Mama Used To Say (No Joke) pays homage and is a tribute to Junior - Mama Used To Say. The song Mama Used To Say (No Joke) has a Rock feel to it. Rockwilder produced this song and Wanna Cruise. This song also features Redman and Missy Elliott. It's one of those old school feel skating rink type of songs as Missy Elliott explained herself on the Elektric Blue album sampler. Mama Used To Say (No Joke) is for all those independent working people out there along with the working class people out there. Stop begging for money from your friends.
The moral to this song is to get a job occupation and get an income. Living life being ‘flat broke’ as in ‘broke as a joke’ is no fun. Stop begging for money from your friends. Stop thinking that life’s a joke. Get up off your ass and do something with yourself because you’ve got to live your life. Don’t live life for no one else. Haters gonna hate.
Talk With Time is a sweet, subtle song great for storybook telling time. It's about her and her boyfriend not getting to see each other because there is not enough time every day out the week for them to socialize and be together. The clock is ticking in the background. Harold Lily sings in this sweet song too.
Harold Lily produced Talk With Time, Wanna Cruise, and Sweetest. Harold Lily is on this song right after the first minute passes saying, “I won’t let you down. I love you baby!”
Ghetto Children is a sad heartfelt song about what everyday misfortune that unfortunate children deal with in their lifetime. Ghetto Children is a song that has the feels. The misfortune unfortunate children Nicole describes on this song are children that come from extreme poverty. The song Ghetto Children features Virginia rapper Bizzy Rock.
These are children that live in public housing projects such as HUD. These are children are on public assistance and welfare. Such children come from extreme poverty, the ghetto of course, and lower income areas. Neither of these children own material things in their possession. These children will never get a new bike because the rent is always due, will never experience shop till you drop, and never ride down with the top down for example. Nicole Wray encourages these children to focus your mind, be something, and stay away from trouble. Be something. Don’t let nobody stop you.
Wanna Cruise is one of those late night cruise songs. A song that you can cruise to when you're in your car cruising down the highway late at night. Late at night would be the best! Wanna Cruise is one of those sultry ballads along with I’m Lookin’.
Timbaland, DJ Eddie F, and Harold Lilly both had produced this long extensive masterpiece of a song while Nicole Wray composed its entirety. DJ Eddie F produced I’m Lookin’ and Wanna Cruise.
Without You is a song to surf to at the beach. This song was on the original Why Do Fools Fall In Love soundtrack. That's another great song! Without You is a bonus track for Elektric Blue. Nicole Wray explains on Without You that without you there is no me.
Bangin' features Prodigy of Mobb Deep and Missy Elliott. Bangin' is an upbeat fast paced song about a man sleeping with another woman and about what Nicole will do to her main man after the love. Bangin’ has Timbaland’s signature production on it with his usual double drums over fast paced beats.
Gonna Love You is clearly a cover of a Babyface song. It has the same melody as TLC's I Miss You So Much. This sound like a 90s song more than a 2000s song. You can easily tell that Babyface produced this particular composition right here.
Single Life is ode to the single ladies who are living that single life that hold down 2 jobs without any children in the picture at all. Single Life is a short 1 minute interlude.
Don’t Have To features Pam and Dodi as the background vocalists who are singing in the background for this song. Don’t Have To is about Nicole not having to worry about paying rent or worry about where her next meal is coming from. It’s all good now. All she has is her hopes and her dreams. She’s going to the top whether people like it or not.
Sweetest is a smooth, sexy, sultry love ballad about her boyfriend’s love being the sweetest. Nicole says “Your love is the sweetest.” His love is something that Nicole Wray is unable to describe. Sweetest is a great song to listen in the park to or on a long walk.
Dial My Heart is a sultry love ballad featuring Tamar Braxton's songwriter Tamara Savage whom this love ballad was written by. Think dial my heart for love. Other than that, BillBoard Magazine confirmed 'Dial My Heart' featuring Tamar Braxton's songwriter Tamara Savage is on the Elektric Blue album.
The I’m Lookin’ single failed to chart into the single digits on the BillBoard Charts. I’m Lookin’ only charted at #66 on the BillBoard Charts in 2001. This resulted in Nicole Wray getting dropped from Goldmind Inc. and Elektra. Nobody was interested in late night love songs as they once were in the mid 1990s.
It was mostly due to the merger between Elektra and Atlantic at the time that resulting in the reason why Elektric Blue did not get an official release. Warner Music Group was going bankrupt from 1998-2000 at the time. WMG had wanted artists with hits that were top charting on the BillBoard. Why? Because 1,000,000 to be sold was the guidelines for Warner Music Group at the time because they were going bankrupt from 1998-2000. WMG had wanted artists that were hitting the Top #40, not Top #100. Nicole Wray's debut and ‘sort of’ only album, Make It Hot, would have gone platinum or silver but instead it sold 800,000 units worldwide.
Nicole should have known that but that’s not entirely her fault.
Missy wanted to sing and also a back up singer to replace Lil Mo, Gina Thompson, and Nicole Wray. So she called Tweet back in 2000 and asked her to work on Aaliyah's track with her. So she called Tweet back in 2000 and asked her to work on Aaliyah's track with her. They knew each other since the early 1990s when they were in DeVante's Swing Mob collab at Da Bassment Studios in Rochester, New York. Missy's CALL was supposedly the thing that saved her life. One day, Nicole got a call from Missy saying that she did not want work with Nicole on Elektric Blue album and focus more on herself. To sum it all up, Tweet was basically a replacement for Nicole Wray.
Going back to Nicole Wray. That's where she got screwed over by Missy. That was like a BIG SLAP in the face for Nicole Wray! That was so disrespectful towards her! Nicole should have gotten the masters for the songs from the Elektric Blue album and should have released that independently. That's how it should have been done. More time should have been spent trying to promote the Elektric Blue album. A music video have been made for the song Bangin' (Don't Lie). This album was the successor of Make It Hot.
Missy really killed Nicole’s career by telling her that she did not want to work with her on the semi-official album of Elektric Blue and by focusing more on herself and most of the artists who were signed to Goldmind Inc. at the time. Missy did not promote Nicole Wray's careers very well.
That's where she got screwed over by Missy. That was like a BIG SLAP in the face for Nicole Wray! That was so disrespectful towards her! More time should have been spent trying to promote the Elektric Blue album.
In the end, it was Nicole Wray got the unfair deal in the music business. She had to suffer the consequences of being dropped by Goldmind Inc. and Elektra Records. Luckily, she is now signed to Truth & Soul Records (known for Lee Fields fame) with Terri Walker (of Def Jam fame) in a duo called Lady with things working out for her.

Tweet - Southern Hummingbird album review
The story is that Tweet was in a 3 member group called Sugah in the 1990s and things didn't work out. Sugah’s album kept getting pushed back or the masters ended up missing. Only a few demoes of the group’s album are sent out. The group had only 5 songs such as Sugah and Spice, Fly Guy, and 3 other songs.
So Tweet went back to live with parents having a number of relationships and jobs. She had tried to commit suicide because she was going through severe depression at the time. In late 2000, she got a call from Missy Elliott saying that she wanted Tweet to work on Aaliyah's track with her. They knew each other since the early 90s when they were in DeVante's Swing Mob collab. Missy's call was the thing that saved her life.
Here's what happened!; Missy wanted to sing and also a back up singer to replace Lil Mo, Gina Thompson, and Nicole Wray since they had all left to focus on their solo careers. So Tweet signed to Elektra in 2000.
Oops (Oh My) knocks down artistic boundaries in ALL directions because it talks about masturbation and having sex in bed. That is one cold track. Missy Elliott is on there too. This is a new school track. It blew everything else out of the water back in 2002.
Motel sounds like it was based on a true story. Tweet showcases her guitar playing skills on this song. The acoustic guitar is used on this heartfelt love song. Tweet goes solo on this song with no guest appearances.
Boogie 2nite is a dance track with pure old school funk and new school soul. This is one of those tracks that makes want to get up and dance. Boogie 2nite is an up in the club track for you to groove to and move your hips side to side to. Tweet goes solo on it.
Tweet talks about if she had her boyfriend back she wouldn't complain at all on Complain. Susan Weems and Tweet both play the guitar. They both showcase their guitar playing skills on this long song. Complain is a great guitar ballad. It has a very country bluegrass feel to it which stands out from all the other songs on Southern Hummingbird with a gospel sound and feel. It's a 5 minute long song.
Southern Hummingbird all based on the trials and tribulations of Tweet in what she had been through in life.

Tweet - It’s Me Again album review
Tweet came back with her sophomore debut called It's Me Again in 2005 on Atlantic Records. Tweet and Missy Elliott’s vocals are all over this entire album. Missy was the main featured artist and top producer for It’s Me Again.
Tweet gives off her southern swagger on Turn The Lights Off is a sweet song! Missy Elliott is all over the song Turn The Lights Off being the DJ especially at the beginning. She does her famous ad-libbing over the callout hooks throughout Turn The Lights Off.
Iceberg tells the funny tale of how Tweet slipped up and fell in love with an iceberg met up with an iceberg who coincidentally turns out to be cold as ice and knew he could damn be SO COLD!! The relationship was greatly hot for the time it lasted until it sunk like the Titanic. Tweet proceeds to sing mourningly of a beyond sinking relationship for the entire duration of the Iceberg song.
Two Of Us is a beautiful duo with Tweet's daughter Tashawna Johnson (Starchild). Two Of Us is a duo of Tweet and Tashawna. The song is about 3 to 4 minutes long in track duration. One thing that separates Tweet from many popular R&B singers today is songs that celebrates the relationship between mother and daughter.
Cab Ride (Taxi) samples the introduction music from the retro television show Taxi. Tweet's voice was so sultry and rich in harmony on the subtle song entitled Taxi. If you just listen closely the bridge is the best part of the song.
Tweet takes it back to the old school a cappella production sound on You. You is very rich, sultry, and soulful. You is a very rich, sultry love ballad.
Tweet wonders what she ever saw in this particular man in this song. She fell in love with him at first sight. Tweet wonders what she ever saw in him. That's right. In other words he is getting the boot at the very end of You.
We Don't Need No Water is a tight jam and cover version of The Roof is On Fire. Missy Elliott is all over this song as well of course. The song We Don't Need No Water was a quirky strange way to end the It's Me Again album.
In the end Tweet got screwed over as well during the release of her second album It's Me Again in 2005. That one didn't sell as well. Missy did not put in enough time to promote the album which is what she should have done.
Mainly it was because Missy was collaborating with Ciara in 2004 on the song 1, 2, Step along with choreography for that music video and recording on her solo albums. It would have been a lot better if the songs Whisper, Shook Up, See Ya, and Drama were on there from It's Me Again album sampler. The It's Me Again album surely would have been certified diamond by now if songs from the It's Me Again album sampler were on this album. The It's Me Again album should have been certified diamond by now.
To sum it all up… It would have sold a lot better than it originally did.
If the original crew members and people were at Atlantic and had Elektra not folded in 2004, we might have gotten a better result from this album. I would have rated this album 5 stars, but unfortunately Missy Elliott had ruined the album by being on most of tracks.
Missy Elliott took most of the spotlight which was unnecessary. Tweet sounds very á la old school Monica on vinyl. Getting help from producer Kwamé was not necessarily the best idea. Missy really knows how to deal with old school music and new school music all at the same time. We have a nostalgic throwback of a sophomore album that is mainly focused on sounds of the 70s and 80s.

Lil Mo - Pain & Paper album review
For those who don't know, Pain & Paper was released in 2007 on her independent label HoneyChild Entertainment which was distributed by Koch Records (now E1). At the time she was dropped from Cash Money Records and Universal due to Hurricane Katrina. This album was supposed to mark her comeback. Instead it went under the radar sold under 110k copies which led to the album Pain & Paper to sell 101k copies total. Unfortunately, she got played over by Cash Money Records in 2006. But luckily, she's back with the albums, P.S. I Love You and iLoveMe! The Pain & Paper album featured guest stars such as Katt Williams, Fabulous, Danny Roc, Jim Jones, and Da Brat.
So Lil Mo will never fails to amaze her audiences at all! She does have a strong and beautiful voice. Her lyrics are so magnificent. Some of the songs on here are heartbreaking love ballads. Lil Mo evokes emotional effort on this album. A lot of Lil Mo songs often deal with the ups and downs along with the pains of relationships written in lyrics from a woman's perspective.
Just Like That is about leaving a man who isn't faithful to his woman "just like that". Ladies! If your man is treating you badly, Lil Mo encourages you to part ways in your relationship with him right away. Just like that! It's so simple! If you listen very closely, punctually at the very end, Lil Mo's vocals are extremely powerful at the end of this heartbreaking love song.
No Hotel is a song for women that are dating in the relationship game can relate to. Do not allow a man to come into your home and leave when he wants or just whenever he pleases to! It's sickening when women allow men to take advantage of them while in a relationship. No Hotel is about a man who is staying in and out of her house. He eventually gets the boot.
The overall message of the song Heartbeat is to cherish the loved ones that we love while they're still here because we never know when they will be unexpectedly taken away from you and that's just real talk! Anything could happen at any given time! They could be taken away from you simply just like that. Tragedy is about pain and loss. The beeping sound of a heart monitor is well-woven into the beats of this particular song right here.
Dotted I (I'm Not Perfect) is a great song and a great way to end the album. Lil Mo takes us to church on Dotted I (I'm Not Perfect) with the gospel-ish St. Lil Mo Mass Choir singing in the background. The overall message of the song Dotted I (I'm Not Perfect) is 'I'm not perfect. So please don't judge me.' . Lil Mo may not be perfect but she know how to sing her ass off!
Sadly this album did not meet the success of her gold selling albums Based On a True Story and Meet The Girl Next Door. But the production sounds and songwriting is what led this album to be overlooked by the music industry and professional music critics. The reasons being the production was WAY out of control & extremely unbalanced, her songwriting skills weren't very good as her previous efforts, and focused too much on the negative side instead of balancing on a 50%/50% on the positive & negative scale. Lil Mo wasn't able to have any notably famous, well-known studios master any of her tracks to make sure the production would not be extremely unbalanced.
The album Pain & Paper did not get much advertisement funding due to the fact that Lil Mo released the album on her own record label. So her funds have been limited. It's not the same as last time where she had a big business back her up in the promotional marketing department for advertisements for Pain & Paper as the situation was for her 2001 debut album Based On A True Story. Basically Lil Mo did not have the major record label corporation funding to back Lil Mo on her Pain & Paper album. Despite this, the album is good! Lil Mo will never fail to maze you at all!

Jeru - Wrath of The Math album review
This has album has to be the most underrated album in Hip Hop/Rap history! In fact, Wrath of The Math from 1997 was more overlooked than Jeru’s debut album from 1995. DJ Premiere's dope production skills are all over this album from start to finish as he was on Jeru's debut album. DJ Premiere was at high point in the 90s and early 00s. It has that dope 90s sound to it because nearly all the tracks are sample crazy as a lot Hip Hop/Rap albums were in the 80s and 90s. Unsurprisingly, the album is sample crazy as lot were during that era.
For some reason, Jeru fell off the radar. Wrath of The Math picks up where Jeru left off on his first album. This album was blazing hot as the last one was. No filler tracks and no filler material. You don't get albums like this anymore!

187 - Darkside album review
This is an album EVERY rock and metal fan should have. This album kicks ASS! It is a blend of rap-rock just like Body Count, Funkdoobiest, Gorillaz, and BlakRoc are. Darkside still is a good album though, although it's not exactly a must have album. There only 11 tracks on the album which is not considered a lot these days due to the fact that it was made in 1995. The 2 downsides to this album are the low production qualities and the fact the album is under an hour in duration time with a duration of 50 minutes estimated. Think rap-rock and thrash metal when you listen to this album.
[For those who don't know, 187 were roadies for Body Count back in the day. They were from Las Vegas. Also, they were affiliated with, Doomsday Productions, Cin Sity Records, Cedsing (Ced Singleton is the founder of Black Market Records out of Sacramento which they were signed to in 1995.), Marvaless, S.A.S., and Brotha Lynch Hung.]

Michel'le - Hung Jury album review
The Hung Jury album is good, but not great. Sadly the album did not meet up with the success of Michel'le's last album 9 years prior due to Suge Knight's crack addiction, stupidity, and his piss poor marketing skills the album was overlooked. Well, the New Jack Swing era was long over at the time this album was released. The album's production sounded out of date at the time it was released.
There is a lack of her Minnie Mouse-like squeaky voice on this album unlike the last album. Which are songs like Crazy and Tonight Is. Here 4 U and Don't Say U Love Me were not the best tracks. Single tracks were Hang Tyme, Can I Get A Witness?, Crazy, Tonight Is, and Walk With Me.
Hang Tyme should have been put as the last track and Hung Jury be the first. Better production would be needed. Here 4 U and Don't Say U Love Me were not needed. Music videos for Can I Get A Witness?, Crazy, Tonight Is, and Walk With Me should have made for better promotion. Dr. Dre should have been a producer on this album.

Lady of Rage - Necessary Roughness album review
The Classic Hip Hop/Rap album, Necessary Roughness, was very underrated. The reason being was that Death Row was suffering from the loss of 2Pac, Suge Knight had a crack addiction, poor management skills, and not enough promotion. IF the album was released in 1994, it would sold a lot better than it did in 1997. The song Afro Puffs should have been put on there as a bonus track. That would help out the album sales. Most of the production was done by Easy Mo Bee and DJ Premiere.
Lady of Rage was smart to leave Death Row in 1998. There was no looking back for her.
The standout tracks were Sho Shot, Get Wit Da Wickedness, Necessary Roughness, Big Bad Lady (feat. 2pac), Raw Deal, Some Shit, Microphone Phon Cok, Super Supreme, Confessions, Rough, Rugged, and Raw (feat. Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, and Daz), No Shorts, and Breakdown. This is album is a must have!

Quo self-titled album review
Quo has to be the worst group in music history and not just in Hip Hop/Rap. Michael Jackson was the manager for this group. This is just not even good rap to begin with. It was made by a couple of kids. It's too grimy for kids! Quite frankly, the kids themselves are quite scary-looking themselves! JD TRU (the black kid) needs to get that stupid oversized ring out of his nose because he looks like Papa Chuk and Kaos (the white kid from Australia) looks as if he came straight out of a horror movie.
The only things good about this album are the production and beats. Quo just mimics and copycats Onyx, Da Youngstas, Hip Hop/Rap, culture, ideas, and not to mention fashion. No material written by them is unique or original. It's just a throwaway. Just awful period.

Pistol - Hittin' Like A Bullet album review
For those who don't know, Pistol (real name Leroy Gordon) was the first rapper from Nashville (¢a$hville) to receive nationwide recognition along with Boogie, Kool Daddy Fresh, and La Chat. Pistol's first album was in 1994 and Eazy-E signed him to Ruthless Records, but shortly after this Eazy died, he left that label with Street Flavor Records (Known for Boogie, Kool Daddy Fresh, and Haystak fame) and his own labels called Toppa Da Line and Platinum Plus Music.
He is the first rapper from Nashville to make an impact on the music industry. He is well know in the underground rap scene because Pistol sells about 100,000 records every time he puts out an album. He has 13 albums out. Pistol is the biggest selling Rap artist in Nashville. Before there was Young Buck, there was Pistol.
This album is one of those Hip Hop/Rap albums that was overlooked and failed to chart because of label politics. This album is one of Ruthless Records best overlooked releases aside from H.W.A. - As Much Ass Azz U Want, Steffon - Trippin' With No Luggage, MC Ren - Shock Of The Hour, Bloods of Abraham, JJ Fad - Not Just a Fad, and Kid Frost - "Smile Now, Die Later,".
This is one of the tightest HH/R albums on the planet! The standout tracks are Rollin' In My 64, Who's In Charge, Late Night Jacking, Just Another Day, and Hard To Say. Hittin' Like A Bullet is sample crazy and it has that mid 90's G-Funk to smooth with G-Funk beats and gangsta lyrics. With no promotion, major label support, or success, Pistol had slowly made a name for himself, which would help him garner his reputation in music business. He has received numerous awards as a respected underground emcee. Pistol's tracks slowly made a name for himself.

Social Distortion self-titled album review
This band is not another one of those cheesy glam rock bands that are overrated. The self-titled says it all. This is one of their most successful album reaching gold status and reaching #128 on the BillBoard. Most of the singles either charted at #6 or at #128 on the BillBoard due to results of low sales. This band should be listed in The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. Social Distortion is that good.
Thanks to Epic's sponsorship and effort, Social Distortion had more time and money to work on their album. This album was WAY overlooked and flew off the radar. This album is probably the most overlooked rock album in the history of Rock music.

Fo Clips - Just Be Thankful album review
Fo Clips was a rapper from Compton. This brother was really about making it in this world with his music. On this album, Just Be Thankful, he covers inner city topics, such as drugs, gang violence, graduating high school, and sex throughout the whole album. Along with soulful tunes of Blues, Hip Hop/Rap, and R&B/Soul.
Soulful tunes and laid back beats are produced by Ronnie "Marlon" Phillips (Ronnie Ron) [R.I.P.], Leroy Dukes, Rashon Dukes, and Tweedy Bird Loc.
The title track, Just Be Thankful, is a cover version of a song by the name same written by William DeVaughn. In the topics he talks about he mainly addresses many issues about the Compton life style. Listen to the hardcore G-Funk beats as the song lingers along with the rest of the album.
Unfortunately, his fame was short-lived as Fo Clips was a member of the Kelly Park Compton Crips despite being neutral on both sides was killed in a drive-by shortly before the release of his one and only album in May 28, 1995. Rumors have it that he was walking down the street and was shot by members of his own Crip gang. A group of 5 members shot at him.
For those who didn't know his first major label (vanity label) appearance was on Bloods & Crips - Bangin' On Wax in 1993. The song was Piru Love with Bloody Mary (better known as Nini X) [R.I.P.], Lil Stretch (of Young Soldierz and Tha Relativez), Big WY (then known as Red Ragg of Young Soldierz and Tha Relativez), Lil Leak (then known as CK who is Redrum 781's little brother), Redrum781, and Big Stretch. Fo Clips went under the name Young Malcom when he did the vocals for this and Wish You Were Here in 1994.
He was on Tweedy Bird Loc's album No Holds Barred in 1994. Fo Clips was on songs such as Album Bitch, Tweedy For President, Dub Sack, I'm Calling You a Bitch, the title track Walk That Walk, Outta Here, Girls I've Done Fucc Before, Keep On Walkin', My Dicc Still Prejudiced, Gangsta Tweed, I Got My Strap, Fucc Miami, Ya'll Can't Fucc With Us, the lame track Street Jokes, Dangerous Is The Shit, and Shout Out.

Lil Black - On The Road Again album review
On The Road Again was #79 when it first hit the charts back in 2001 eventually being at #81. Lil Black was one of the first few Austin Hip Hop/Rap artists to hit the BillBoard. (Minus Ciara and Rapid Ric along with others.) (Minus the appearances of charting pop star Ciara, Rapid Ric, along the appearances of Bad Mutha Goose in 1988, Papa Chuk in 1994, and MC Overlord in 1998.)
For those who don't know, Lil Black (known as Nathan Mackey Jr.) was raised in Elgin, a small country town outside of Austin, Texas. He has had 2 records on the "Texas Artist Top 40 Countdown" back in 2000 and 2001 as well as holding down the number 1 spot for 5 straight weeks. (Back On The Road being Song of the Year for 2000.) For those of you who are from Austin, you all may remember that Lil Black had told the story of his life story and how he shamed his family by choosing the street life in the Austin American Statesman front page in 2001. (He made news 1999, 2000, and 2001.) Lil Black believes that his growth and maturity as an artist’s time has come.
The album has the famous Willie Nelson song, Back On The Road for which they both collaborated on. Willie Nelson and Lil Black had done a cover version which had helped boosted Lil Black’s popularity both in 2000 and 2001. This is the most notable famous well-known song off the album.
The song, Look at Me Now, is about his life story and the rocky relationship with his father (Nathan Mackey Sr.). Lil Black had told the story of his life story and how he shamed his family by choosing the street life in the Austin American Statesman which had made the headlines on the front page in 2001.
Tracks such as Game Don't Stop, As Good as It Gets, and Hold On explain the risks of the drug game. It's about coming up really. Songs about love such as I'm Diggin You, and One Night Stand featuring Too Short. Along with the party jams, I'm Diggin You, Throw'em Up, Take Somethin', Groove On, and Show Me What You Got.
An example of country rap is this album right here. Think country meets rap. On The Road Again was one of the best albums to drop from the Austin Hip Hop/Rap scene from 2001.

Lil Black - Around The World in a Day album review
Around The World in a Day by Lil Black was released from Big Baby Records and Nuf Sed Inc out of Elgin, Texas. The album, Around The World in a Day, sold over 200,000 units.
For those who don't know, Lil Black was raised in Elgin, a small country town outside of Austin, Texas. He has had 2 records on the "Texas Artist Top 40 Countdown" back in 2000 and 2001; (Back On The Road and Around The World in a Day being Song of the Year for 2000) as well as holding down the number 1 spot for 5 straight weeks. For those of you who are from Austin, you all may remember that Lil Black had told the story his life story and how he shamed his family by choosing the street life in the Austin American Statesman front page in 2001. (He made news 1999, 2000, and 2001.) Lil Black believes that his growth and maturity as an artist time has come.
He has some real talk on the song, OG's, coming from a former drug dealers perspective. This is about the drug game coming up in around Austin, particularly Elgin. OG's is about what educational knowledge about the dope game OG’s where teaching Lil Black when he was coming up. About criminal activity, drugs, being dealer, being a businessman, and making moves in the game.
My Message to a Dyin' World is a song about the truth of our world of what's going on today. My Message to a Dyin' World still carries a relevant message today. It’s more true today than it was ever before. Our world has been dying since 2000 came around.
Come Down, Come Through is another song about coming up. This album has party jams such as, If You Wanna Party, 3rd Coast Rock, Around The World in a Day, and I'm Lovin' Every Minute Of It. Gangsta rap tracks such as When Ganstaz Dance, Thugs Ball, and Do It The G Way. This album has sexual themed songs such as, Holla My Name, Play With Me, and Never Let You Go. Unlike his first album, it does not feature any guest stars or appearances.
For some reason, the Around The World in a Day album flew under the radar for some reason. Even mores than On The Road Again. Around The World in a Day has tight on point production by Tim Bailey (T-Baby) and Salih of Carnival Beats Entertainment.

Kirk Thurmond - Only Love album review
The title track is mixed in with soul and acoustics. You don't usually hear live acoustics on soul sung tracks. You can hear live drums in the background along with the acoustics. Goodlove is yet another track with live drums and live acoustics. Break My Bones is a sad song about hurt. If It Was Love features another up and rising star Phoenix Hart. (Move On is the same.
Kirk Thurmond has potential and has a bright future ahead of him. He has an amazing voice for someone who has released a recent album out now. No filler material on this album.
This album is a must have for any ultra lovers of R&B/Soul or neo-soul music out there.

NOFX - War On Errorism album review
This is their most politically conscience album ever in all of NOFX discography. This is a must have album for any hardcore NOFX fan out there. NOFX didn't change their approach at being a politically conscious well hardcore punk group. They tackle their known favorite subjects such as drinking, anti-religion, and anti-patriotism along with the themes of partying, and observations about the band scene. Their songwriting has improved!
We all know NOFX has a penchant for fast music and dirty jokes. War On Errorism had the typical hard edge punk rock sound, penchant for fast music, and the dirty jokes of course. Most of the album blends together. For all you NOFX fans out there, this album is a must have for any hardcore NOFX fan!! They have fulfilled their potential on this album.

NOFX - Heavy Petting Zoo album review
Heavy Petting Zoo has to be NOFX's most underrated album. The album has well known songs such as Hobophobic, Hot Dog in a Hallway, Release The Hostages, Liz, Love Story, Whatever She Wants, and Drop The World. The offensive album art has an effect on the album for those of you NOFX fans out there. NOFX has a penchant for dirty jokes.
The songs are awesome and they kick ass! Sadly, there are some downsides to this album. There are 3 downsides to this album. The 3 being, the songs were too short, some of the production was off key, and the vocals are unstable.
We all know NOFX has a penchant for fast music and dirty jokes, but this album duration was too fast. The Heavy Petting Zoo album had the typical hard edge punk rock sound, penchant for fast music, and the dirty jokes of course.
Part of the problem is the production sound of the album. Most of the album blends together. That's why it did not have a huge success. This album is not as great as the others. Still nonetheless, Heavy Petting Zoo album by NOFX was overlooked and underrated.

Jayo Felony - Take A Ride album review
Take A Ride by Jayo Felony was released in 1994 on Def Jam Recordings/JMJ. JMJ, T-Funk, Randy Allen, and Tamika Dash helped with the production. The album of course, is very sample crazy. The album has that 90's G-Funk sound to it with high the pounding heavy bass notes. He refers to himself as Bullet Loco sometimes in songs such as The Loc Is Own His Own, Im'a Keep Bangin', Sherm Stick, They Got Me On Medication, Funk 2 Da Head, and Take A Ride. Jayo Felony tells us the inner-city tales of gang activies, crime, jail, and even death. He shows no solutions or answers to the problems he face and explains.
The Take A Ride album starts out with Jayo Felony calling home to his mother. His mother tells his not to call her anymore because she got tired of him going to jail only to be bailed out by her. She tells Jayo Felony to call his father and hangs up on him. He soon realizes that he's a grown man who has to handle jail on his own. He's on his own alone in the song The Loc Is On His Own. Jayo Felony tells us about the life in jail along with the stress, anger, and dangers he faces while in jail. His mother put a block on the phone. He shanks another inmate while in jail. He tells us how fucked up jail can be.
The song I'ma Keep Bangin' is about gang activity preferably his Crip affiliation. No weak links, weaklings, faggots, or busters. Just straight up pimps, playas, and hustlers. Elements of set trippin' are present in this song of course. This is gangsta rap and that pop crap bullshit being played on the radio! Fuck that! Homicide is about a crime he or someone else has committed.
Love Boat starts out with Jayo Felony and his homies singing about smoking sherm (PCP). Which is what the song Sherm Stick is about. He makes a reference to San Diego Police Department helicopter finding him at Gompers Park. He makes reference to his homie Lil Boss Hogg being incarcerated as to being caught slipping and ending up on a milk cartoon. Or just end up missing period.
The song Niggas and Bitches is about the ones who stayed real, stayed true, and kept it real with him while he was incarcerated in the state penitentiary along with the ones who were fakes and ended up being snitches including them buster ass bitches. Jayo Felony clearly states it in this song.
Day 1 starts with him appearing in court and by telling the judge he can't keep Jayo Felony down which is what the song Can't Keep A G Down is about. Again, Jayo Felony clearly states it in this song. So please listen closely. Can't Keep A G Down is a heavy G-Funk track!!
Bitch I'm Through is about breaking up in a relationship after Jayo Felony finds out his woman has been cheating on him. It's a fuck you track dedicated to all the unfaithful bitches out there! This song is on that Jerry Springer shit and that baby mama drama on Maury.
Penitentiary Bound is about him once again going into the prison system. Don't Call Me Nigga is where the prison guard trustee calling the racial slur "nigger" and Jayo Felony raps on why not to call him that nasty racial slur. They Got Me On Medication and Funk 2 Da Head are songs about him being crazy.
The last song is the title track Take A Ride which is a perfect way to end the entirety of the album.
Def Jam fucked over their West Coast artists. It's so fucked up. Still is. Other than that, Take A Ride is a must have for any fan of West Coast rap!

MC Overlord - Last Call album review
Last Call album seemed rushed. The production was not as good as the last album The Black Theory. He should have stuck with DJ Panda and Drez One. That would have made the album better.
There weren't as many good cuts as the last one. The good cuts were Pops, Kid Brotha, All I Want for Christmas Is a Black President, Last Call, Tarantino, I'm In Here, and The Flow.
For those who don't know, MC Overlord is a record Ten time Austin Hip Hop Artist of the Year award winner with 10 independent CD's currently under his belt. The Austin Statesman has called him "The Godfather of ATX Hip Hop."!

Gina Thompson - If Only You Knew album review
Ya Di Ya was very good. It has great vocals as well as the lyrics. Her voice is really great on it! a very soothing song. Ya Di Ya was her first single featuring Missy Elliott. It has that Spanish mix and feel. The music video could have been improved with a little more money. Not her fault. Elektra and WMG were on the verge of going bankrupt around 1999-2001. This one is a standout track!
This is what Ya Di Ya is all about:
Gina just came from a late night, but once she got in she didn't feel right. The guy is uptight from the first time they met because Gina did not return his page. If he pages her once or twice, that's nice. It's crazy for ten times that he pages her. The mess that the guy is talking about Gina wants to say bye to him. The guy she is trying to get with is talking about irrelevant nonsense and it makes her want to leave him. Gina does not want to hear it. She does not want to be bothered by him. He is just really getting on her nerves.
Gina is not in the mood for the drama this evening. So Gina think the guy should be leaving because she doesn't need this or him because is it doesn't pay the bills. There are more guys with more skills that will definitely satisfy Gina. His talking is weighing out his good looks.
Gina lays down her smooth vocals on this Coolin' Out which she showcases very well. The religious, smooth church organ sound with the Hip Hop sample along with the 19th century/20th century ragtime vocals can be heard at the very beginning of this song. Think of this track as a 19th century meets 21st century type of track.
You Can't Play Me has a very erotic-sounding beat to a slow and mellow attitude-packed track which is done very nicely! It does sounds very lot like Monica's "So Gone" to me. You Can't Play Me has a Lil Mo feel to it.
It Hurts seems to sample Toni Braxton/Deborah Cox ballad Nobody's Supposed To Be Here. It Hurts has a real church vibe to it. It Hurts has a Lil Mo feel to it.
This album wasn't promoted enough because it wouldn't sell very well. None of the singles charted. That's why. Elektra did the right thing. You can see the maturity from her first album, Nobody Does It Better to this album This is one of those albums where its better to buy the singles instead of the whole album. That's what people did 10 years ago when CD singles were still popular along with cassette singles, but those were dying out. The fans were upset with Elektra. The fans say Elektra lost a star.
Missy Elliott never gave Gina Thompson a chance while she was under her wing at Goldmind Inc. from 1996 to 2001. Elektra and Goldmind never really played her videos and didn't really put in much effort as into promoting the If Only You Knew album.

Birdland album review
Rock 'n' Roll Nigger is their most memorable song off the album. Quite a controversial name. Paradise was too short of a song in all retrospect. The same applies for Hollow Heart. Birdland has more than 9 tracks however.
Unfortunately this was proven to be their last album due to problems with their management with Radioactive Records. Radioactive made a bad business decision by holding this album back a year. So did Lazy Records. This has to be the most wanted album in glam rock ever! It has been out of print since 1991. It was a foldout album cover for as a poster for their concert in Japan in 1990. However, this is a must have for any rock fans out there!!!

Heavy impounding bass tunes added with heavy metal and hard rock is what Ten Glorious Animals is filled with. Killer guitar playing skills and drumming skills are what make Ten Glorious Animals an enjoyable excellent listening experience for both new fans of rock music and old fans. Mellow melodies help calm down the albums mood. The piano and rock sound mix well together. Smooth and mellow is something that can be easily described for this album.
No More Room, Wide, Don't I Know, Lorelei & Henry, Shiloh, Esophagus, Old Dominion, Prog Jenny, and Where Is My Mind are the best tracks on the album!
This album has material that any hard rock fan, classic rock fan, and for any of you fellow metalheads out there. Pure headbangin' material from start to finish! It has sound for metalhead fans alike. Ten Glorious Animals is for both new fans of rock music and old.

Columbia Orchestra - Washington Post March album review
Columbia Orchestra single album Washington Post March album was made in 1900 on Columbia Records. They had a well known orchestra called Columbia Orchestra. Which had performed in genres such as Classical, Blues, Jazz, Country, Spoken Word, Comedy, and Soundtrack. Columbia Orchestra was from New York of course.
Back in the 19th century and 20th century, these albums on vinyl only had one to two single tracks. Where unlike today a single album is referring to an album where the only good track is the one that is selected to be a single, but that's not always the case. The whole album can be good. Meaning that the whole album depends on the single status for success of the whole album. For example, Nicole Wray - Make It Hot). That's one.

Victor is now owned by Victor Entertainment, Inc. in Japan. Victor has both headquarters located in both located in Japan and the US. Columbia and Sony got into the picture as well.
Anyway, for those who do not know, Sherman Houston Dudley was a well known African-American vaudeville performer and a theatre entrepreneur. Willie Nelson - Moonlight Becomes You album review
The highlights for this album are December Day and the title track of course. Also Sentimental Journey, You'll Never Know, I'll Keep On Loving You, and Someday. The title track fits well into the genre and so does Sentimental Journey.
Willie Nelson has performed as well as made his own records on unknown tiny independent record label just like he did with his 1982 album Stardust with the Willie Nelson Family Band. For some reason this album had went under the radar. Blend in Country, Blues, Rock, Jazz, and pop genres along with other elements and the result is this album.
