Inumoto - Tsukasa EP review
The Tsukasa EP by Inumoto from Tokyo, Japan was digitally released in 2009. Tsukasa Records is a record company from Tokyo, Japan that is focus mainly on mashup electronic music. The record label is named off of the otaku anime Lucky Star character Tsukasa Hiiragi. Inumoto has an obsession with Tsukasa Hiiragi of Lucky Star as does Tsukasa Records hence the name. Most of the artists do have an obsession based on Tsukasa. Inumoto is the brains behind Tsukasa Records along with 5 other people. Hypo77 being one of them on Tsukasa Records (柊つかさ Records) as well as Inumoto (瓊瓊元).
The album cover is the face of purple haired schoolgirl Tsukasa Hiragii, a character from the Japanese otaku anime Lucky Star which is an international sensation. Her trademark signature is her yellow ribbon bow which is also the logo for Tsukasa Records. Tsukasa is often seen in her serafuku. She is a second year student in high school. The album cover is quite abstract.
(Sailor outfit is her school uniform.) (Serafuku means sailor outfit in Japanese which is often referred to as a school uniform in many of Japan's school whether it be private school or public school. A lot of schools in Japan use serafuku as school uniforms.)
Surprisingly the record label has not run into any copyright and trademark issues of the name or usage of the Lucky Star character Tsukasa Hiiragi. . Gotta love that doujinshi culture!
The Kokode is very dub step and minimal like IDM. Think Dance Dance Revolution. It's about 5 minutes long. Possibly even longer.
The Neni Gede Remix by Novotex is superb! So is the dub. Think grindcore and mashup as well as mashcore. Even though most songs by the label are 3 minutes, the remixes and dubs are quite long. Tsukasa Records strays away from J-Pop and from the Top Japan Charts.

Hypo77 - Love EP review
Love EP was released by Hypo77. As you know, Hypo77 runs Tsukasa Records with inumoto out of Tokyo, Japan. The theme for this extended play is love. Think White Day. The front cover shows Tsukasa Hiiragi with heart-filled box of chocolates. Symbolizing that the present day is White Day. The album cover is quite abstract.
Valentine Love is a very ambient trance which turns into a mellow song. An ambient mellow trance. The pace is very slow but does not get fast. I love the ambient smooth melody on this song with the lyrics. The beats do match up with the lyrics indeed.
Hypo77's Mashup is the best Tsukasa Records mashup ever! It is quote beast along with the remix. The remixes are great! So is taw. Most of the artists do have an obsession based on Tsukasa. Inumoto is the brains behind Tsukasa Records along with 5 other people. Hypo77 being one of them.
The album cover is the face of purple haired schoolgirl Tsukasa Hiragii, a character from the Japanese otaku anime Lucky Star which is an international sensation. Her trademark signature is her yellow ribbon bow which is also the logo for Tsukasa Records.

NY Junkies - the inconsumable Tsukasa EP review
NY Junkies - the inconsumable Tsukasa EP. was released on Tsukasa Records in 2011. This EP is about 8 tracks. Inumoto (瓊瓊元) did the visual graphics for the artwork on the album cover as usual. Tsukasa Hiiragi is seen in her serafuku on the album cover holding her trademark balsamic vinegar with her right hand. The album covers very abstract and ambient as all the others are.
The mood for the EP is very ambient. Electro glitch sound bits are played over the acid sound with the IDM. This one has more of an experimental sound to it.
かくかくかくさんさんさん (TsukaTsukaTsukasasansansan) is definitely indeed a very repetitive song. Sometimes referred to as Tsuka Tsuka Tsukasa-san san san. It's about four minutes long. Similar of the Lucky Star intro and Hana Yori Dango intro. The Mirror Pray track and Tsukasa Festival are both off the hook! So was the NY Junkies Mix.

Lady - Sweet Lady single review
For those who didn't know, Lady is Nicole Wray and Terri Walker. This single was released as a vinyl in 2013 on Truth & Soul Records. There are only two songs.
Sweet Lady is a dedication song to their mothers. Sweet Lady is similar to an upbeat positive 60s Motown song. There is a lot of positivity in this song. Their mothers are really there for them in the end when no one has their back. To me and most Lady fans, Sweet Lady was an inspirational uplifting dedication towards their mothers type of song.
Get Ready is a soulful bouncy tune. Get Ready was the second single off the album. This song has a very 60s sound.

Iron Maiden - Live After Death album review
Live After Death is a live album of Iron Maiden's live performance during July 1985 at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California, United States. The album is nearly 2 hours long. Probably more than 2 hours. (Some editions of Live After Death are longer than 2 hours.) It's a 2 record set all into 1 album! There are liner notes inside the album regarding the credits. The schedule for the daily crew was very busy and hectic. A lot of stage props were used during this time of concert.
The cover art was illustrated by Derek Riggs. Eddie The Head is rising from his tombstone as usual. Even the from cover is quite skeletal as usual. (As most Iron Maid album covers are.) Iron Maiden should have performed more songs live from the Powerslave album to contribute and put onto this live album. This album possibly the greatest live album by Iron Maiden of all time so far!
If you are a hardcore Iron Maiden fan or a collector of cassettes, then this album is for you!! Every Iron Maiden fan should have this album.

Guttt Control - Lick-A-Wish album review
Lick-A-Wish by Guttt Control from Flint, Michigan was released on GrayT Records (GrayT Entertainment), Lick-A-Wish Productions, and Guttt-A-Listic Productions in 1993. This was released on cassette and vinyl.
Guttt Control is Tony Demoun, Blue Ballz, and Eddie Starborn. Guttt Control was a sexually explicit, hardcore, old school hip-hop group out of Flint in the mid 1990s. Think old school rap and party rap like Kid N Play, DFC, X-Clan or Boogie Down Productions!
Guttt Control released 2 EPs then vanished for some weird reason as every other rap group in Flint at that time with the exceptions of DFC, The Dayton Family, and Top Authority.
Gutttro is the intro to Blue Ballz and Biggie Smalls, which is Blue Ballz solo track. (No references to Notorious B.I.G.!) This track is just a freestyle track with mild sexual references which are still wild. It samples More Bounce To The Ounce by Zapp. The low heavy bass reminds me of On My Hook Up by BODK. Project Hoes is dedicated to all dem hoes in the projects.
Dis-O-Man is an explicit sexual, party rap, old school hip-hop version of the classic nursery rhyme This Old Man. This song has references to sexual positions, ass, hoes, prostitution, drugs, and masturbation. Niagra Falls in them drawers is a reference to Viagra™. Before there was auto-tune, there was Nate Dogg. Taravis was a rap artist out Flint with a smooth R&B flow.
Gutttlude is the Interlude to Sex Feels Like…! Sex Feels Like… is a sexual track. This track has references to sexual positions, ass, hoes, prostitution, drugs, and masturbation. Orgasms and heavy breathing are both present into this track. It samples Computer Love by Zapp. Blue Ballz delivers his secretive sexual puns as usual on this track.
While this cassette too short to be an album, it was still a stellar superb EP! I really enjoyed the experience of listening to this cassette EP. Guttt Control was more of a sexual hardcore version of an old school hip-hop group. The sexual sound was a lot different in regards to the sound that was coming out of Flint at that time in the 90s.

Tweet - Love Again single review
This single came out on MC Lyte's Du Bose Music Group and Umbrella Recordings in 2010. Only a limited amount of promo CD singles were ever pressed only later to be put for online distribution. This is a single. Tweet is so gorgeous and underrated! A lot of neo-soul is underrated which is what this single is.
On Love Again, Tweet expresses that she is scared of loving someone. She's so confused. Does she love again? Even though Tweet's supposed to let go. She needs to get it together. Tweet doesn't want to live without that special person.
Love Again has that winter theme on a cold ice winter holiday. Just imagine ice skating on a pond during the holidays. Love Again is 3 minutes and 40 seconds long which is about as long as a typical average Tweet song. It's slow pace at first, but gets upbeat fast. I did not like the song Love Again. It sounded very suicidal.
It’s You has perfect percussion arrangement with loud heavy pounding bass in the background. It’s You has that 70s acappella and 70s soul sound meeting new school spoken word. Old school meets new school on It’s You. Some of the track is distorted though.
Remedy was a better upbeat song. It will remind you of Nicole Wray's Destination from 2004. It's perfect for a snowy day at the mall or outside. The medium bass hits hard. Don’t let go or give in. Tweet is all you need.

BODK - Under Surveillance EP review
BODK is Brothers Of A Different Kind, a rap group from Flint, Michigan. This EP was released in 1993 on Different Kind Records. This EP only has 5 songs along with an Intro and an Outro. This album features Ryan Swims too! Nuke Jones too.
The song Mandatory will remind you of a heavy hitting hard ass bass song that Esham, Sonny Bo, or The Dayton Family would do! It's a real dark acid rap song about why BODK adheres to the standards of ghetto street living codes to such gruesome activities such as murder, unconsented sexual contact, and home invasion. The song shows no solutions or answers to the problems BODK faces and explains. DJ R kills it!
Out On My Hook Up has one sick ass bass line especially at the end! Lost Soul showcases his skills. It's a song about raping bitches, killing all pussy ass niggaz, and punk ass MC's. Note the Fleetwood Mac sample behind the beats.

Mellow Mood Phil album review
This album was released on Discreet Records and Midwest Records from Dallas in 1995. Mellow Mood Phil is from NYC. Larry Cooper is the executive producer.
This album has that New Jack Swing and Quiet Storm sound despite New Jack Swing being outdated by 1993. Very R&B/Soul very much! Mellow Mood Phil will remind you of Bobby Brown, Jodeci, Marques Callaway, and Horace Brown! Think about Slow Jams. (This is not Jazz.)
My Crib is a slow jam song about Phil's house. Drippin' With Sweat is a slow jam/love song. So is don't hold back, a passionate song about kissing. Mellow Mood is very slow jam Quiet Storm type of song. TYA is dedicated towards the youth of the United States. Why U Cry is a sad song. Taste Your Body is a sex song.

Wes Chill - Smooth But Deadly album review
Smooth But Deadly was released on Nuff Style Records (Tuff City Records) in 1994. This EP/album was released on cassette only. Wes Side is Side 1 and East Side is Side 2.
Wes Chill was an MC/rapper/businessman from Detroit in the 90s. Particularly the West Side. Wes Chill is known as Wesley Gandy.
You Better Ask Somebody should have been the cut single for this album! You Better Ask Somebody tells why you should not step up to Wes Chill's crew. You might get a lyrical beatdown or get jacked by the gun. You will have loved the saxophone playing the background on this one. Note the Lonnie Smith sample! You Better Ask Somebody is gangsta rap at its finest!
Wordz of Disaster is lyrical beatdown to all those wack ass MCs out there. Wordz of Disaster is filled with heavy hitting percussion and heavy pounding bass lines. Note the heavy pounding bass. However Wordz of Disaster is only 2 minutes long. The track Wordz of Disaster should have been 5 minutes long. Wordz of Disaster is gangsta rap at its finest!
Me and My Niggaz showcases other cats from Wes Chill's crew such Proof from D12 (R.I.P.), Dog Yard Posse, and Gangsta T. Me and My Niggaz is a posse cut.
Just Thought I'd Let You Know is a reminder to let us know who Wes Chill is. Just Thought I'd Let You Know samples the track Slide from Atlantic Records.
If gangsta beats, heavy bass, heavy beats, loud volume, and rhymes is what you're looking for, then this is the album for you! Wes Chill was featured on Kid Rock's Polyfuze Method.. This album should have been 11 tracks instead of 8 tracks. This album should have been longer than it already was.
Wes Chill was really under appreciated MC from Detroit. He deserved more fame than this. Wes Chill should have done 5 or 6 albums before calling it quits.

AP.9 - Pursuit of Perfection album review
This album was released in 2013. Production is done by Don Cannon, Rob Lo, Traxamillion, and The Beatnix. The album features Philthy Rich, Al Casino, Yukmouth, and a few others!.
Funky Exposition has those old West Coast beats. AP.9 gave props to Biggie and 2Pac on this track. AP.9 talks about coming out of the ghetto and not dying. Ain't no fairytale, folks. You will love the funky guitar in the background
Get Wit The Mob is one hyphy track. It has that Mobb Music sound like C-Bo. Take notice of the fast flows.
Funky Expedition, 187 Proof, California Liven, and Baller should have been singles! Mouthpiece as well. The voice and tone fit into this album. Great hooks too. This shit slaps harder than a bitch on wheels!

Santee - Out The Pen To Win album review
Out The Pen To Win was done after Santee got out of the Huntsville State Prison (Huntsville Unit) in 1996. This album was released on CD by PRC Recordings out of San Antonio, Texas. I love the Doodooism sound on album! (Doodooism is a rap sub-genre of heavy bass and heavy guitar on rap & hip-hop.)
Out The Pen To Win is about Santee quitting the life of crime and going legit like Jake The Flake. For example a legit job and not selling drugs or robbing innocent people. Santee is going to make a success in the underground rap world. Santee had made this song right after he had just gotten out of prison.
Mobbin' Music has that early 90s Bay Area Mobb Music/gangsta rap sound to it. A great song to listen to in a low rider while your in traffic. Hearing Mobb Music on a Texas rap album was completely a different experience.
Smoked Filled Room is a great song for a smoke session. To get your smoke on to. So toke away playas. Reminds me of C-Ordell's song of the same name from his 1994 debut solo album on BLVD Records. C-Ordell should have been on this album.
Step To The Mic is a freestyle song. So is What's Your Skills. 312 is an ok song. Tripple Gold is about them Dayton rims. Santee Is The One is another good track. PRC Rules is also!
The basement production sound done on this album gives the album that mysterious eerie sinking feel. Mostly the sound of this album is lo-fi. There are freestyles. The cover artwork is very homemade. This album had a very dark feel as Santee's 1990s albums usually did. A lot of synthesizers and other equipment was used for the album. This album was very underground from the mainstream radar even in San Antonio. Too bad Lil Sin wasn't on any of the tracks. Santee's albums are impossible to find even in Texas along with all the other albums PRC Recordings has put out over the years! Only 3,300 copies of this album exist.

KGP - Bootleg album review
This amazing album had marked the Return of KGP into the world of the wicked! A lot of hatred, anguish, and anger is aimed towards the mic in the audience. KGP is horrorcore. The album grabs the listener into a world of fear, bringing them through hellish actions and soundscapes. Of course the album is heavily inspired by anger, death, occult, sexuality, drugs, and paraphernalia.
Songs such as Acidikrevelationz and Bloodklotz are thrashing rock classics!! KGP album Bootlegz is a landmark in the evolution of Mentality Records. KGP is from Saginaw. Michigan. Think thrash metal rock and Horrorcore acid rap.

Insane Clown Posse - Tunnel of Love EP review
Tunnel of Love was done right after their contract with Jive expired. ICP had just 2 days of being independent again before officially being signed to Hollywood Records, so their decided to record and release an EP independently on Psychopathic Records.
Tunnel of Love was released with an alternate version with a pornographic album cover and a bonus track called Mental Warp. Shaggy 2 Dope had replaced the actors face with his on the albums front cover. An actor with an erect penis is standing next to two women. That is brehsive!
The promotional tactics used for Tunnel of Love were incomprehensible to many ICP fans and Juggaloes. A pink Tunnel of Love van with flowers on it was used as a promotional tactic in order to promote the Tunnel of Love EP at one point. The public does not understand why Psychopathic Records what using on usual type of tactic in their promotions.
Record stores refused to sell the Tunnel of Love album, so this album was sold at concerts by ICP at the time of 1994. The pornographic addition became sought after by many ICP fans and collectors. This edition is very rare and hard to find. Not everybody can handle the dopeness of Shaggy 2 Dope! (Or wickedness of Shaggy 2 Dope for that matter.) So the 2013 rerelease is censored for the lighthearted fans. Which sucks! The album didn't make as much money as ICP planned for.
The visual concept of this EP is filled with love Amore with the Horrorcore juggalo sound. ICP's shows off their more darker side for the Dark Carnival saga. ICP is more sexually explicit on this EP then all their other album/EPs. Think thrash metal and horrorcore.
ICP signing to Jive Records & Hollywood Records was a bad move because Jive Records was a family friendly record label in the 90s. Jive was known to be a censorship bully as well. They censored the shit out of UGK and Too Short's music. The same goes for Hollywood Records! No surprise there with that said. Going back to Psychopathic for ICP was a good move before signing with Hollywood Records.

Twiztid - Freek Show album review
The Freek Show album cover has that 2010s Strange Music look similar to a Brotha Lynch Hung album with that horrorcore ripgut cannibal sound distorting your speakers. The Freek Show album cover is something you expect to see in the 2010s era. Twiztid sounds very similar to ICP, which is ironic because Twiztid is signed to Psychopathic Records.
People Are Strange is a cover of the 1967 single by The Doors. The intro is led by murderous screams only to tell us that we are being taken on a ride of horrorcore music. Mutant X is a totally horrorcore track mixed onto thrash core metal.

Salt-N-Pepa - Brand New album review
The album Brand New by pop rap group Salt-N-Pepa was released on Next Plateau Entertainment and Red Ant Records in 1997 as well as their own Jireh Records out of New York and VA. Chad Elliott was the main producer for this album. Male R&B quintet Day Ta Day were the male vocalists.
Red Ant Entertainment was going bankrupt at the time and Salt-N-Pepa could not use a lot of the money and time to put in the effort from the promotions of the Brand New album. Brand New was set to go 2x platinum as the previous blockbuster album Very Necessary did. However, Brand New only sold 800,000 copies thus going gold. Brand New showed that Salt-N-Pepa failed to keep up with the new pop generation that pandered for boy bands. The styles and fashions were changing as they usually do.
R U Ready? was an updated continuation version of My Mic Sounds Nice from 1988. It was a latter continuation to put it bluntly. The live acoustic drum beats fit in well with the live instrumentation. Salt is head MC of this song. Pepa is in the background. The song is perfect for a 1997 pop single. It is a well memorable song. The song is conducted very nicely. Al West composed R U Ready? for those who didn't know.
Do Me Right has that West Coast funk gangsta rap sound in production. Very similar to the production style of DJ Battlecat. If this song was released as a single in 1994, then the song would have gained more leeway for airplay even if they are Salt-N-Pepa. This song sounds similar to an upset midnight sexual love song with that New York sound. It's all good and not too explicit of course.
Good Life is about living a good life of course obviously. No struggles, carefree content, and no stress. That's the way most people would like to live if that was possible but sadly that isn't. Normal people wish they could live that way.
Friends should have been as single as well. The song Friends was composed by Anthony Criss. Anthony Criss did a great job of composing. Honestly, Al West and Anthony Criss are both underrated composers that needed more exposure.
Friends is about friends and enemies. Better yet frenemies! Mad Lion goes mad wicked and crazy with the Jamaican Rastafari flow. So does Queen Latifah with her New York sound. Not too mainstream. This song is hot!
Say Ooh sounds similar to an upset midnight sexual love song as Do Me Right did. Say Ooh is a very romantic hedonistic love song very similar to an 80s slow jam. It's all good and not too explicit of course. The sample is Turn Off The Lights by Larry Young. Salt and Spin are more vocal on this track then they usually are.
Imagine was a good choice for a 3rd single. It should have been like this: Imagine b/w Knock Knock. Sheryl Crow did a superb job is usually does her singing career. Imagine is about living life free with no struggles. That would be better. Think about it that way.
Brand New should have been a single also! Because it is the title track. But the downside to that would be people would be after the single more than the actual album if the title track was chosen to be the lead single. That's what happened with the Nicole Wray - Make It Hot album which resulted in low sales and in revenue.
On Gitty Up, Spinderella showcases her low alto voice similar to Automatic by The Pointer Sisters. The sample is Give To Me by Rick James. It sounds very 80s and 90s. The bass sounds very low of course because it's reduced along with the treble.
Boy Toy is similar of Let's Talk About Sex, an earlier song by Salt-N-Pepa in the early 90s. A man turns into a one night stand love in this song. Not a cheesy love ballad either. So it's not too bad or that stellar either. In other words, it's worth a spin to listen to. Samples Candyman - Knockin' Boots too as a bonus!
This album was way overlooked! It's too bad the record label had limited funding. Who knew what kind of success this album would have been with the right amount of funding for the promotion of Brand New.
Do Me Right and Good Life should have been singles but due to Red Ant Records poor mismanagement that never happened. Hold On and Silly of You were both single material. Similar to how Gitty Up, R U Ready?, Imagine, Say Ooh, Do Me Right, and Friends were. A lot of songs on this album has potential to be select singles.

Southside Syndicate - Worldwide album review
Worldwide album by Southside Syndicate was released on ATR Records in 2003. For those who didn't know who Southside Syndicate is, Southside Syndicate is Lil Sin, Big Chucc, and Moni (Michael "Moni" Parker). Worldwide music with Hip Hop flava and down south bangin' beats is what this album is filled. The beats and production is fairly decent. The graphics not so much.
The Intro tells us that Lil Sin and Southside Syndicate had just been recently released from Huntsville State Penitentiary in 2003. For those who didn't know who Southside Syndicate is, Southside Syndicate is Lil Sin, Big Chucc, and Moni (Michael "Moni" Parker). Southside Syndicate make their debut track. A good sweet intro.
The song Worldwide is telling us about how Southside Syndicate is selling units and distribution of their debut album worldwide. In other words, Southside Syndicate is taking it to the top like Will Smith! Eating sushi and drinking Caviar. Lil Sin goes straight raw on this track.
Catfishin' is Lil Sin showing young niggas how the game works. It's about old school niggas teaching young niggas how to catch a fish. Don't hesitate to hook the bait on the hook rod. Catfishin' is also about finding the right woman out there to date. This is Lil Sin's solo track. I love damn near every Lil Sin track ever done! Lil Sin and Uncle Roger awaken early Sunday morning. Time to grab a 6-pack of brew and an ounce of zig-zag. Uncle Roger don't smoke.
Ride Wit Me and Southside Swangin' are club anthems and club tracks. Something to groove to at a bangin' party! So is Get Krunk which has mad flows! Southside Swangin' and Get Krunk are down south rap tracks. If The World Was Mine and Struggln touch and relate to real world issues such as haters, drugs, gang violence, political corruption, income equality, overcoming the perils of poverty, and other topic as well. Dippin' is a southern track with heavy bass and doodooism.
Truth Lies In The Pen is about how Lil Sin was writing life stories hoping people would listen. This was in 1995 after Lil Sin got his start in his rap career. Born in sin. He started off on Final Cry off of C-Ordell's Under Investigation album. This song was also off the 4eva Young album in 1999. Truth Lies In The Pen is about Lil Sin's life experiences all together.
Bouncen and Flossin is a 2003 remake of the original song with a More Bounce To The Ounce sample by Zapp.

Cybotron - Clear single review
Clear by Cybotron was released as a vinyl single on Fantasy Records from Berkeley, California in 1983. Cybotron was a techno group from Detroit, Michigan. Juan Atkins was one of the members of the duo. This is electro techno. Not hip-hop as some uneducated fans refer it to as such.
This record, Clear, was very underrated in the mainstream pop market despite having bee favored by many of the techno underground music scene. Clear did very well in the Detroit techno scene. But to me, the single was overlooked by mainstream fans and did not make an impact classic as Rappers Delight by The Sugarhill Gang did. Which it should have and it did in a very major but sort of small way!
Clear had the phat electro sound which was simply brilliant! Industrial Lies was the electro industrial track on the B side. Clear should have charted onto the Top Billboard Charts at #85. #85 on the Top #100 Billboard Charts that is. And it should been added to a soundtrack for a major movie film or an underground indie film.
In the early 80s, Cybotron masteredplaned the blueprints for Detroit techno. Some undereducated fans do refer to Clear - Cybotron as the earliest release in Detroit hip hop and rap. The members of Cybotron themselves even said "This is electro! Not hip-hop!". Cybotron was obviously not rap either. Some even refer to Cybotron as a one hit wonder. Clear was a one hit wonder to be exact which Clear evidently was.
