George Olsen - Sax-o-phun Foxtrot single review
George Olsen - Sax-o-phun Foxtrot was from 1904.
Foxtrot was a dance that was started in the early 1900s but wasn't popularized until the 1940s. The foxtrot dance at first was very slow and underground. It was mostly performed and conducted by orchestra performances live. People were usually best dressed while performing this dance out in the public view.George Olsen had a great orchestra with his music on his albums during the time period of release.
George Olsen had a great orchestra to go along with his music on his vinyl records. George Olsen and his orchestra were very well known across the United States during the early 19th century.

Andy Russell and the Pied Pipers - It's Dreamtime single review
Andy Russell and the Pied Pipers - It's Dreamtime was from 1922. It's Dreamtime is a good orchestral track to swing dance to and perform the waltz to. It's Dreamtime was performed by Andy Russell and the Pied Pipers orchestra ensemble. It's Dreamtime was a slow blues jazz track to waltz to at the time of night. Andy Russell and the Pied Pipers performed many major and minor hits in their time period.
Andy Russell had a great orchestra to go along with his music. Also on his vinyl records.
I'll Close My Eyes is a bedroom track. I'll Close My Eyes is a beautiful love composition for a dream sequence.

Eddy Howard and his orchestra - For Sentimental Reasons single review
Eddy Howard and his orchestra - For Sentimental Reasons from 1910 was released on Majestic. For Sentimental Reasons is a slow foxtrot dance track and is obviously a sentimental track about ones redeeming value of sentimental love about the good old days that are the days that have passed from a previous love life to be exact. Those good old days came from a previous lifetime. For Sentimental Reasons is an ‘I love you.’ track.
The trio does the other side of the record. Eddy Howard and his orchestra his orchestra were very well known across the United States during the early 19th century.

Bobby Sherwood - Classics in Jazz album review
Bobby Sherwood - Classics in Jazz from 1956 was released on Capitol Records.
Bobby Sherwood was the Frank Sinatra of Chamber jazz music and Big Band jazz since he was a band leader in the 1940s. Bobby Sherwood was often overlooked by teenyboppers since they were more into Elvis, Buddy Holly, Quincy Jones, Eddy Arnold, and The Impressions at the time.
Bobby Sherwood never got the recognition he deserved basically. Bobby Sherwood's life has been based on show business. His life was based on the music business. He is a fine arranger. Bobby Sherwood is outstanding on his trumpet.
Sherwood's Forest is Bobby Sherwood's most well known song of all time. It's a progressive modern jazz piece of a jazz composition. Bobby Sherwood had set a new standard with Sherwood's Forest. For those who didn't know, this was the first jazz composition Sherwood had wrote for Capitol Records. This composition turned out to be a hit for Bobby Sherwood. The orchestral performance was marvelous!
Swingin' At The Semloh is a guitar classic laid out as a blueprint by Bobby Sherwood. Swingin' At The Semloh is real wild upbeat jazz. Bobby had wrote this song as his own original song while performing on an unamplified guitar. That was his own original idea for a song. Swingin' At The Semloh is a classic song for unamplified guitars to play to. In other words, it's a classic song for unamplified guitars as an original composition written by Bobby Sherwood.
Cotton Tail is a jazz composition piece that is upbeat in tempo. Bobby Sherwood is outstanding on his trumpet on this particular jazz composition. Cotton Tail is real wild jazz! Upbeat jazz that is! Herbie Haymer is playing the tenor saxophone. Walkin' and Talkin' is a relaxed nonchalant smooth jazz composition piece by Bobby Sherwood. The song has a relaxed rhythm. Bobby Sherwood is amazing on the trumpet! The band is playing the precision. Bill Covey played the alto sax on The Elk's Parade. The alto sax has a memorable tone. Great tenor sax too at that!
Bugle Call Rag is quite an unusual jazz composition piece inspired by the bugle call theme. Bobby Sherwood plays the trumpet down on the low register on this jazz composition piece. Bobby playing his trumpet on the low register is what's so special about this jazz composition piece right here.
Poor Little Rich Girl is another original jazz composition piece written by Bobby Sherwood. Poor Little Rich Girl was added to many movies soundtracks over the years. Poor Little Rich Girl was a well known song at one point in time. The beats are solid and have edge. Poor Little Rich Girl is not covered by musicians and arrangers very often for some reason.
Poor Little Rich Girl is about a girl who thinks everything is handed down to her and she doesn't have to work for anything. To most of the populous on the outside her appearance may seem to look rich. This girl lives in so much comfort but she may or may not have some mental problems. Obviously this girl is already a spoiled brat by default. Money only brings trouble and a lot of it brings a lot of troubles. So this rich girl is going to have a bad real life wakeup call someday.
Makin' Whopee is a just a jazz composition piece of just plain silliness. A change of pace is noticeable in the moderate tempo. Bobby Sherwood's trumpet identification You should listen to it and see why.

Lil Bow Wow - Doggy Bag album review
Doggy Bag album by Lil Bow Wow was released on the recording labels of So So Def Recordings, Sony, and Columbia Records. The songwriters were Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox as they were on the debut album Beware of Dog back in 2000. Chad Hugo too lent a hand in production and studio time for this album.
The only good songs were We Want Weezy (Intro), Thank You, Take Ya Home, Get Up, and All I Know. Only half of the album was enjoyable for a listening experience. All I Know interpolates New Edition's Candy Girl song from 1986. All I Know is a short but sweet tongue in cheek type of song. Crazy is not too hyphy however.
As for the interludes, there were too many. 3 interludes is way too much for one album. Only 1 or 2 interludes are necessary for an album and not a whole bunch. Interludes are a waste of space and time on an album.
If you enjoy pop-rap, Doggy Bag would be a lot of fun for you! Doggy Bag is another Platinum album gone wrong by Lil Bow Wow as a sellout.

Lil Johnny - I Got You Album Sampler album review
For those of you who don't remember, Lil Johnny had a music video called I Got You which was on Nickelodeon channel a lot in 2001. Lil Johnny was on tour with Lil Bow Wow, Lil Zane, and B2K back in 2000 to 2001 on the Lil Bow Wow/B2K tour. His voice sounds a bit like Usher.
Johnny Manuel Jr. aka Lil Johnny is from Flint, Michigan. He grew up in the church. His family attended church regularly during his childhood. He grew up in music basically. His family even performed in a local R&B group. When he was 11, he recorded a demo with local producer Corey Peterson. In less than two years from 1997, he signed a recording contract with Warner Bros. Records via Millennium Entertainment. This album was produced by Mario "Yellow Man" Winans and Jermaine Dupri.
I Got You is about Lil Johnny having a girlfriend but the only problem is he's only 15 and he doesn't have a car. Because Lil Johnny is 15 he is not legally able to drive a car on the road. He is legally unable to drive a motor vehicle. His girlfriend tells Lil Johnny he doesn't have to go nowhere as long as he's with her. This is where he really shines.
I Got You features Jermaine Dupri as well. He raps the hooks with his signature single verses. I Got You is a love song basically. I really like that.
You Can't Be Serious is about seeing his ex-girlfriend the other day. Lil Johnny got a call from his ex-girlfriend the other day. She said she missed the things Lil Johnny would used say. She said she's sorry and she had changed her ways. She'd do anything to get back to Lil Johnny. Lil Johnny couldn't believe this as this was the same person whom played with his head. She acted like she did want Lil Johnny around.
Lil Johnny has obviously given her more than two chances. Lil Johnny left and found somebody else better for him. Lil Johnny is the type of boyfriend every woman wish they had. Lil Johnny's really got it going on. But his ex-girlfriend kept doing him wrong. He won't take her back after all that drama his ex-girlfriend had intentionally created.
Lil Zane raps up next about the type of women he's into. So many fights he's been through. He thought she'd be the one. But truth turns out to be wrong in love. Lil Zane needs things too as he's very busy with life.
You Can't Be Serious is also about him not getting over the fact that his girlfriend moved away and his girlfriend dating someone else instead of Lil Johnny. She can't just be serious about how they are not dating anymore. Relationships talk like money talks. They don't last forever.
Please is about Lil Johnny wanting his girl back. Lil Johnny wants his girlfriend to be back in his life.
Lil Johnny has been up all night trying to write this letter to tell his girlfriend what Lil Johnny feels like. He doesn't feel any better. He's about to break down emotionally and cry. He didn't think she would leave and break his heart. Lil Johnny did not play and do his part in the relationship with his girlfriend. Lil Johnny should have treated his girlfriend better. So Lil Johnny will lose his sanity if he does not get his girlfriend.
Lil Johnny describes next how he got into this sticky situation is that Lil Johnny had said something he said but he didn't really mean it at the time. This won't happen again as Lil Johnny was just caught in the streets when he shouldn't have been. His girlfriend means everything to Lil Johnny in this world. Lil Johnny may be young but he is ready to love his girlfriend. Lil Johnny is really sorry.
Curfew is about, well, breaking his curfew with his girlfriend. Lil Johnny talks about all the things they are going to do when they break curfew.
Lil Johnny can't concentrate on nothing because he knows what tonight will bring. You and me all alone my love lookin' at the stars above. Lil Johnny can't wait to feel her face. They will to their favorite place. Lil Johnny will be with her. They can't say nothing. The thing that Lil Johnny and her have is so cool.
Lil Johnny wants to be with her tonight so they are out in the darkened hours of the night after hours thus breaking curfew. They're going to talk beneath the friendly skies and stare into each others eyes.
Lil Johnny has to go to the mall right quick and pick out a fresh outfit. He wants to represent his girl. Lil Johnny knows she'll look tight in that fresh outfit with her hair all done. Every hour spent is all going to be about them.
Baby tell your friend that if your parents called that you want to sleep in. Make sure they know the deal because after tonight ends they'll want to break curfew again. That's for sure!
Why is about difficulties of life. Why does it have to be about this and that? That and this. Why can't we hug and kiss? Why can't we just make out instead of fight? It's a typical teenage love song about learning how to love each other instead of date rape and spousal abuse. The mood gets noticeably darker on this song than all the others.
Dream Girl is about finding that right girl and the type of women he wants to date. Lil Johnny wants beautiful girls in his beautiful world. Not these groupies or plus size women. (But hey, plus size women need love too.) Lil Johnny wants the perfect model girl to be in his world as his girlfriend. A perfect dreamy romance song.
The album sampler was rapidly hot! You can listen to it the whole way through without skipping any songs. The timing was bad due to Usher's rising fame and the fact his voice sounds a bit like Usher. Basically the music industry at the time was not looking for another carbon copy of Usher.

The album starts with opener Dance Dance. This is the type of track that makes you want to bounce. It's all dance dance, groove groove. It's a slow but smooth dance melody. The beats and rhythm are very slow to start out with. Not bounce music or trap music.

Lil Johnny may be young but he is ready to love his girlfriend. Lil Johnny is really sorry.
The well known game show-inspired Wheel of Fortune was also on The Brothers soundtrack for those don't remember is also on this album. Wheel of Fortune is a great song to play during midnight to your lover after smooching whether it be dedicated for him or her. A great song for both lovers!
You Can't Be Serious is about seeing his ex-girlfriend the other day. Lil Johnny got a call from his ex-girlfriend the other day. She said she missed the things Lil Johnny would used say. You Can't Be Serious is also about him not getting over the fact that his girlfriend moved away and his girlfriend dating someone else instead of Lil Johnny. She can't just be serious about how they are not dating anymore. Relationships talk like money talks. They don't last forever.
The beats on You Can't Be Serious super bouncy similar to Bounce With Me by Lil Bow Wow as it not too obvious Jermaine Dupri lent a hand towards production in this song. You Can't Be Serious features Jermaine Dupri and Lil Zane as well as an added bonus.
That's What I'm Talking about features Jermaine Dupri. It sort of has a Latin/Spanish beat to it. I really like that. It adds spice into the mix of the guitar flavour. Lil Johnny's blowin' up the spot on That's What I'm Talking as Jermaine Dupri raps the hooks! That's What I'm Talking is a dance song and love song mixed together.

(But hey, plus size women need love too.) Lil Johnny want's the perfect model girl to be in his world as his girlfriend. A perfect dreamy romance song.
Hang it up! You can't get her back. While you were gone Lil Johnny was picking up the slack. All those long walks, long talks, and all of that. Homeboy you lost that. Now you need to step back! Because Lil Johnny's blowin' up the spot!
It's not Lil Johnny's fault your family moved away. Your girl moved on. Now you're mad because that same girl is with Lil Johnny. She wants to be on Team Lil Johnny. What would you have done? Can say that Lil Johnny's a player. You would have done the same thing if you were Lil Johnny. He feels for you.
A girl like that you must feel sorry to loose. If that was Lil Johnny, he would have been singing the Blues. He won't rub it in, however. Lil Johnny's made it clear he won't let go.
What's a player like Lil Johnny supposed to do? When they first talked she said, Yo! We're through.". She said she was tired of being alone. She had to find that heart a brand new home. I know you seeing her with Lil Johnny is tough but it is what it is.
Hang It Up is also about Lil Johnny not getting over the fact that his girlfriend moved away and his girlfriend dating someone else instead of Lil Johnny. He can't just be serious about how they are not dating anymore. In reality he wasn't serious about the relationship. They were just two teenagers in love.
Better Get Ready has a Chinese beat to it with Chinese instruments used in the song with the high pounding bass. The timbre is on point with duration of the beats. Better Get Ready is a perfect song to play in the dark midnight hour.
Lil Johnny will show you things you've never seen and take you places you've never been or gone to on Tonight. We can do it all tonight! Tonight is another upbeat bounce track. The organs are quite high definition and very loud. Turn down the speakers if you want to avoid the loudness. Tonight is another perfect love song to play in the dark midnight hour.
If You're Ready is the last track of this soulful album. It's very similar to Usher, Mario, Omarion, and Ginuwine. Not too much like Magoo however. The guitar playing the background is extremely beautiful. If You're Ready is yet another love song.
The album was rapidly hot! 13 tracks of soulful punchy tunes within 50 minutes. You can listen to it the whole way through without skipping any songs. It's not that hard to be moved by this sort of sweet voice and talent. (About more than %90 of this album filled with love songs. Just remember Lil Johnny was 15 when he did this album.)
The timing for the release of the I Got You album was bad due to Usher's rising fame in 2001 and the fact his voice sounds a bit like Usher. Basically the music industry at the time was not looking for another carbon copy of Usher. Not exactly Ginuwine either.

Ruff-N-Rugged - Swing Sump'n Ruff album review
Ruff-N-Rugged - Swing Sump'n Ruff was put out on cassette and CD in 1994 on Boomin' Records Inc. which is DJ Clays record label and studio. On the front cover are vinyls of Run-DMC - King of Rock and EPMD. All the good old school hip hop classics on vinyl next to a puddle where C-Lo D and DJ Clay are standing. All that hype stuff!
DFC was the most funkiest rap group, while The Dayton Family was the most hardest rap group, DOA was the most deadliest rap group, Top Authority was the most authoritative, while Took-N-Bone were the dopest, Guttt Control was the most gutsiest, while FOD was the rawest, NFTP was the most scandalas rap group, and Artfull Dodgers was the most artsiest, you had Ruff-N-Rugged which was the most rugged rap group.
Ruff-N-Rugged was the most overlooked Flint hip-hop group ever despite being the fourth rap group out of Flint to get national mention on TV channels such as MTV, Fox, ETV, and The BOX. Let me introduce another group from Flint that goes by the name of Ruff-N-Rugged who are C-Lo and DJ Clay.
Old Skool Beat is classic breakbeats and samples of old school hip hop classics. The track Old Skool Beat was so dope in many different ways that cannot describe into one album review setting. Old Skool Beat is a sample crazy song.
Swing Sumpn Ruff was an underground hit in the mid 90s (well 1994 to be exact), and was way overlooked by mainstream media such as BillBoard despite having a music video made for Swing Sumpn Ruff played in heavy rotation on The BOX channel. The jazz sample is off the hook. So is the heavy note pounding bassline. The samples are fine too. Ruff-N-Rugged was way overlooked in their time.
Backstabbas is about people who are down with you but really turn out to be your enemies and stab you in the back when you're not looking. Your own click can turn around and stab you in the back just like that very quickly as possible. Attorneys can be labelled as backstabbas too. Attorneys can punk you too. This track has a statement that is still very true and very well prevalent today. Backstabbas is still very relevant to today's society.
This very track here should have been promoted as a single alone. Comin At Ya (Str8 Jackin), Somethin Funky, and Drop The Microphone should have been singles alone.
DJ Clay and C-Lo D are Comin At Ya (Str8 Jackin) on Comin At Ya (Str8 Jackin). Comin At Ya (Str8 Jackin) is basically old school hip hop meets gangsta rap. DJ Clay really added that gangsta rap element to this dope ass track. C-Lo D's Comin At Ya (Str8 Jackin) so stay strapped!
Black Male is still a relevant track in today's society especially with all the protesters in Ferguson over the Ferguson shooting and the recent Eric Garner killing by NYPD after the police officers put him in a chokehold. Black men do have it hard here when dealing with police encounters here in the United States. Police encounters can often turn out to be very dangerous and very deadly because if you attempt to reach for you pocket to show proof of identification, they will automatically shoot and kill you. The police encounters are very deadly often these days.
Somethin Funky is a funk dope track for you to listen to. Drop The Microphone should have been a single with Somethin Funky. DJ Clay and C-Lo both drop Somethin Funky for you!
This album is an overlooked classic in Flint hip hop! This album is so dope! The beats are great! It's a must-have if you are a hardcore hip-hop head!

Kid Creole and The Coconuts - I Wake Up Screaming album review
Every single track on this album is dedicated to a significant person, place or thing. That's what is so significant about his album and about the dedications on this album. For example, the title track is dedicated to the Mighty Sparrow and This Is My Life is dedicated to Fela Kuti. Heck even Sly Stone gets mentioned for a dedication. Sly Stone is the one who taught Kid Creole that anything goes.
This Is My Life teaches us that there is no limit to how many musicians and dancers you can have up on stage. Simultaneously when the groove is real. This statement can be until you put in the factors of keeping up with the standards of building codes and fire hazard.
Somebody's Got To Lose is dedicated to all the losers who think that they are winners. There's a looser in every winner and there's a winner in every looser. There's a looser inside everybody that wins at something. There's a winner inside everybody that looses at some point in time. Loosers don't win at everything. Don't be 'all that'.

Jayo Felony - Underground album review
The album starts out with the movie excerpt sounding as if it were a sample from a horror movie. (Which is the introduction song Cop Killer.)
Thunder roars very loudly in the beginning. You can hear footsteps in puddles. You can hear the crickets chirping in the darkness of the night. Excerpts from violin which sound as if they were sampled from an excerpt of songs from a Classical music opera in the middle of the introduction. You can hear heavy breathing. (Which has been heard lightly.)
The cars doors are being lightly shut so no one hears them whomever is getting out. There are two people. As the two are getting out of the car, a police office yells out "Freeze!" "Get your hands up!". Another officer sends a message through the dispatcher in the police car stating that a police officer is down.
Whatcha Provin is a song about the lil homies (younger generation) patrollin' (gang banging) the streets. It's all about coming up. Also it's about how everyone wants to be hardcore these days when they really aren't. Nobody can prove anything. Du Lo Gang is about Jayo Felony's gang along with gang affiliation. Which are Crips for those who are gangsta rap fans. Du Lo Gang is composed of San Diego rappers Bay Loc, Baby Skar, C.C., and C-Hecc. With woofing and heavy-hitting bass. (Which is very hard.)
All Day & All Night is about partying. Which is a party track of course. It's about getting high and getting drunk. Smoking bud and drinking all day and all night.
You & Me is a skit, about a couple arguing about sex and obedience. The wife or lover wants the man to obey her. The skit fits in very well with the next song. This one is about sex with females.
The g-funk Mandingo track comes up next. This one is about sex with females. True Stories is a song that tells it all about street life. My Name in Your Mouth is not that good of song. But don't let it change your thoughts about the album. Flow 4 Ya is very impressive! That's On me is about him.
This album was released around 1999/2000 on Eureka Records (Koch Records [Koch Distribution which is now E1 & eOne Distribution.])
For those who don't know Underground was a collection of 10 song from 1998-2000. Which was material recorded in between Whatcha Gonna Do? and Crip Hop. Underground was an album that was not supposed to be released. (Jayo Felony said so himself.) But Koch Records (now E1), T-Mix, and T-Funk compiled ten songs from the studio and did it anyway. After Jayo Felony found out as he told his lawyer, the lawyer requested the Underground album be taken off the shelves probably due to the fact Jayo Felony was still under contract with Def Jam, JMJ, Sony, and Columbia. (Sony and Columbia are the distributors for Def Jam.)
Aside from the legal problems, let's get back on track. If you were expecting a mainstream guest-filled tracks on the album as the last one was in 1998, you will be in for some disappointment. The production is mainly done by DJ Silk. DJ Silk is doing good work on the beats as usual. Jayo's flow throughout the whole album makes Underground really worth it! You'll want to check this one out! No weak tracks!
