Lil Willie & The Keynotes - It’s Good To Be Back album review

After extensive touring and traveling on the road as a worship band, Lil Willie & The Keynotes are glad to be back home. It’s Good To Be Back is filled with religious gospel melodies, religious worship, church praise, and Christian hymns. They surface with such acclaimed praise and tributes to fallen ones whom are deceased. Religious worship and praise can be heard throughout the album on the angelic harmony chorus.

It’s Good To Be Back after extensive touring and traveling on the road as Lil Willie & The Keynotes put it. Lil Willie & The Keynotes are glad to be back home from touring the United States along with Canada. Life on the road can be tiresome and troubling. That comes with the pressure, anxiety, stress, insomnia, and energy. It’s all part of the package. Their band members spirits, minds, and souls are in the right place when it comes to praise and worship.

The Diablos album review

The Diablos cassette was released a 4 track demo cassette in an effort to get signed by notable major record labels for notoriety sake. The Diablos cassette was released from 1990. This cassette proved otherwise as not that many were pressed, so The Diablos unfortunately went unnoticed. Only a limited amount of quantities were available. The red cassette is nothing special despite that the cassette text graphics were manufactured at Disc Makers in Philadelphia. Disc Makers had some dope rockin’ graphic artwork designs back in the day. Most of the songs were written by Frank Novicki.

Dime A Dozen is nothing short of 2 to 3 minute track. It’s rather good than average. Although some rock fans may seemly think so otherwise. Dime A Dozen proves how the rock band The Diablos is a ‘dime a dozen’ henceforth the title. The song Dime A Dozen is quite short however in terms of track longevity.

Good Music is well about good music. This is one of those particular tracks that does not need anymore in-depth explaining by itself. Hello Mr. Bottle is a rock track with a quirky mood and filled with silliness. The track itself is very silly.

System Of A Down - Hypnotize Value Added album review

Hypnotize Value Added is an album with 3 selected live songs from the Hypnotize album. These 3 live songs are live versions of the studio versions. The 3 live songs are Forest, Prison Song, and Question!. Columbia Records and Sony/BMG made a smart business/musicology decision to include the 3 live songs to Hypnotize Value Added. Live music was a thing that was considered popular at the time of this albums release. Live music had rose in popularity. All of the songs are explicit.

Question! comes as a CD extra and a music video to accompany it. The music video came along as an added bonus. Question! was never really a popular rock song despite having a music video to accompany the song.

Mr. Anonymous - Can You Relate? album review

Haven’t you heard? is the first song up to bat. Mr. Anonymous has a similar distinctive voice to Ecay Uno here. The bass and beats are dope!

Haven’t you heard of a murderer and lyrical kills who’s only out for the scrilla? It’s time for Mr. Anonymous to check his flow for those who are player hatin’. How much can a player take? Kung Fu is irrelevant because player hatas get smoked. As Mr. Anonymous proceeds his verbal attack on any reject MC who wants to put their city on the map dissing any individuals they don’t know because they got a lame name and a light flow. Real life’s going on.

I got love fa ya samples Zapp - Heartbreaker with a heavy pultruding bass line rattling the speakers. I got love fa ya is of the ladies. Soul meets G-Funk, rap, spoken word, and bass music on I got love fa ya. Most of the rap here is spoke in spoken word format.

Next up is the remix version of Haven’t you heard? samples Michael Jackson - Billie Jean. The remix of Haven’t you heard?  is extended longer.

Mr. Anonymous has a similar distinctive voice to Ecay Uno here.

Playa’s Day is a dope funky G-Funk track from the 90s. Pure rap at its finest. Tight dope beats, bass, and lyrics. This is how rap should be. Mr. Anonymous introduces himself as Playa Mr. Anonymous. He puts in game. Mr. Anonymous lets us playas know If you’re not controlling your game, a snitch will make you reap what you sow. That’s a player hater thing. Take a look and see what’s happening on East 7 Mile Road this playa weekend.

Mr. Anonymous - Can You Relate? is a dope album that came on cassette. The beats and lyrics are super dope! A lot of Detroit rap from the 1990s including Eminem and Black Milk were overlooked and never given a chance to have international success or high acclaims. Mr. Anonymous - Can You Relate? is very similar to the rapper Who Sane. Mr. Anonymous - Can You Relate? is a hip hop felt rap album.

Tweet - Love, Tweet Album Sampler album review

The Love, Tweet album sampler’s production is sultry smooth in her vocals. The production style reminds you of the Southern Hummingbird days of 2002. Tweet needs to get back to that Southern Hummingbird sound with Timbaland producing the beats. Yes, the absence of Timbaland shows on this album. The only contributions missing from this album are the presence of Missy Elliott and Timbaland.

On Love Again, Tweet expresses that she is scared of loving someone. She's so confused. Does she love again? Even though Tweet's supposed to let go she needs to get it together. Tweet doesn't want to live without that special person. Love Again is about wether or not Tweet should continue loving someone or not.

Love Again has that winter theme on a cold ice winter holiday. Just imagine ice skating on a pond during the holidays. Love Again is 3 minutes and 40 seconds long which is about as long as a typical average Tweet song. It's slow pace at first, but gets upbeat fast. Love Again sounded very suicidal to be honest. Love Again does have that 2010s slow jam sound.

My Dear has that Atlanta sound. The pipe organ makes My Dear have that church feel. My Dear is a virtuoso upbeat song similar to a modern love ballad. T.I. did a good job rapping on this song. Marz had produced this. My Dear is definitely single material appropriate for this album. It's really weird too. It will remind you of Lil Sin's Who Got Yo Back track from 1998. The sound effects are really weird.

It’s goodbye my dear on My Dear. Tweet gives her man the kicking him out the door with all his clothing and furniture along with other personal possessions. Their relationship was good while it lasted.

Anymore is an upbeat 2000s neo-soul song about her boyfriend. Anymore is also the outro as well for some strange reason oddly but it's instrumental instead. Killer sound effect scratches on the vinyl in the background.

It's been a while since Tweet and her boyfriend dated so they want get reacquainted. Tweet never anticipated that this would happen or occur if her boyfriend treated so nice. It's like she doesn't know him anymore. Her boyfriend left her hanging previously. Would he decide to change? Tweet will have to think about her decision.

Hey Baby has that 70s soul sound and feel to the composition. The percussion is smooth and the pace is slow in bpm. The instrumentation arrangement is professionally laid out in an expert manner formation. Flute is perfectly played.

Hey Baby is another love song. Tweet needs a man. She wants someone just like her. It's about flirting and being in love.

The Way To Love is about how Tweet finding the way to love. Tweet finds ways to love as the track progresses forward. She finds ways in her own mysterious ways. Tweet expresses that she is scared of loving someone. She questions her ability on the way love in the bridge of the song.

The Way To Love has that 70s soul sound with that new school neo-soul sound. The drum kits were perfect instruments performed in this track. Good choice selection on that! However, The Way To Love appears to be unmastered which is the result of the low quality audio. The Way To Love is in snippet form.

Addicted is about being to love. Tweet is looking for the one for her. She is addicted to a man’s love. She did catch it. She wonders at the end of Addicted if anyone caught the love bug. Did anybody out there catch it? Addicted is perfect for a snowy day, traveling music, or being outside.

However, Addicted appears to be unmastered which is the result of the low quality audio. Addicted is in snippet form.

Real Lady is a heartfelt song from the soul of Tweet. The beats are smooth and not hard. Real Lady is another song about love yet again.

Tweets been waiting a long time for someone to bring her joy. Attractions and looks brings the worst people knocking on her door. She wants someone just like her. Tweet needs a man. Then, Tweet explains the instructions on how to take care of a real lady. Tweet wants something genuine from the heart. Tweet describes herself as a “diamond in the rough”.

Can’t Live is yet another love song that will take you a roller coaster ride. A love affair does have its ups and downs. Can’t Live is really quirky and weird.

Alone is about being along. Tweet wonders if she’ll ever be able to date again or is it for the best that she be alone. She does not want to be alone. Alone is as cold her Iceberg song and Santana - Black Magic.

Cruisin' is a road travel song. A travelling song to put it basically. Think about doing 80 mph down the highway on the countryside. It's another song that is choice material for a single! Cruisin' is definitely single material appropriate for this album. So was Real Lady, Everything, and I Just Wanna.

Them There Eyes is an upbeat swing jazz. Tweet fell in love with them there eyes. It's about flirting and being in love. The trumpets and saxophones do perform a superb job at the very end of Them There Eyes.

Remedy was a better upbeat song. It will remind you of Nicole Wray's Destination from 2004. It's perfect for a snowy day at the mall or outside. The medium bass hits hard. Don’t let go or give in. Tweet is all you need.

Everything has that new school neo-soul sound mixed with new school rap sound. A featured artist such as T.I. or somebody else would be perfect to guest star on. Tweet is all you need.

He invaded her space and took up all of her time on the track I Just Wanna. Tweet wasn’t ready for that. She wanted to play around and he wanted to settle down. She was a fool to let him go. She misses having him around right now. Tweet needs somebody like you. Tweet needs somebody like you to be down for her. She wants to love him. Perfect beats and guitar instrumentation performance.

Love You More is a dance hall reggae track. It has that ska sound. PJ Morton performs with instruments as a featured artist on Love You More. The horn section is perfect. PJ Morton and Tweet make a great duo!

End Of The Aisle is about finding that special one. Both Tweet and Susie of Sugah explain how they found that special one. Smokey of Playa is the male vocalist. He stands out the most with his notable voice. (Susie is Susan Weems of Sugah.)

It’s You has perfect percussion arrangement with loud heavy pounding bass in the background. It’s You has that 70s acappella and 70s soul sound meeting new school spoken word. Old school meets new school on It’s You. Some of the track is distorted though.

The Love, Tweet album sampler had probably less than 500 physical pressings done before it all went to the digital download market. This was the sampler for the Love, Tweet album that got shelved due lack of interests from distributors, mainly internet leaks (which killed this albums chance of ever seeing the light of day), and label mergers from bad corporate moves from the powers that be.

Gin.U.Wine Clique - Gin.U.Wine album review

Gin.U.Wine was a 3-track demo cassette that came out in 1995. The Gin.U.Wine Clique was a rap group from Knoxville, Tennessee.

50 copies of these Gin.U.Wine Clique cassettes were produced and 49 were mailed out to magazines for review and towards record labels in hopes for a recording contract. This is the same cassette that was sent to and reviewed by Rap Sheet Magazine in 1995. The Gin.U.Wine Clique received calls and responses from record labels such as Black Market Records, Ichiban, and In-A-Minute Records during the same year as well. The Gin.U.Wine Clique demo cassettes were never pressed up for resale or released to the general public in stores.

Somethin' 2 Ride 2 is something for you to ride to whether you be out in traffic as stoplight or you're just cruising down the highway. This track is pure unadulterated g-funk. The way rap should be. Their style is the dopest. Backing vocals of female vocalists can be heard at the end of the track.

Make way for the new g's stepping on the block as Gin.U.Wine Clique takes us to cloud 99 which to them is a whole another level of street knowledge. (At least to Gin.U.Wine Clique it is.)
Tales of heinous violence on the street are told by Poo Styles.

[Poo Styles was the one who educates us about street knowledge at the beginning of this track and the other entirety of the track.]

Jadaeka went up next after Poo Styles. Jadaeka breaks us off something proper as he puffs on indo (weed). The Gin.U.Wine Clique gots the swisher sweets. So now it's time to go to cloud 15. Jadaeka explains it's all about that pen and pad in the rap game. (Pen and pad is a reference to backpack raps in terms of songwriting skills.) Jadaeka explains also that only playas put it done in the city of Knoxville. Shoutouts to various areas are made in his last verse.

Twigg is the last one to rap on this track. Twigg explains that he is down for his crown in the city of Knoxville. Listen as Twigg takes us through the mind of a g.

Southern Style Funk is southern rap and g-funk at its finest. Nothing but pure raw raps. Gin.U.Wine Clique unleashes their lyricism with raw street raps into the studio on this demo cassette. Not many can do it like the Gin.U.Wine Clique can.

Gin.U.Wine Clique is smooth like that wine and you know they're legit. They can't be faded. So blaze up a fat sack of that chronic! Southern Style Funk is another hit track by the Gin.U.Wine Clique. You know they made it smooth and funky.

Cloud Fiddine (15) is about taking it to a whole another level in the game. That's where Gin.U.Wine Clique takes the listener. Another ode to a whole another level in the game.

Many rappers and groups from Knoxville, Tennessee we're over looked in the music business industry due to the presence of bigger cities such as Memphis and Nashville in the state of Tennessee. Gin.U.Wine Clique is no exception to this case. Gin.U.Wine Clique should have been the first rap group out of Knoxville to make it big on an international scale. Too bad that didn't happen. Knoxville rap always gets overlooked.

Ms. Tee - Female Baller album review

When you listen to the Female Baller album by Ms. Tee, the sounds incorporated are bounce music, feminism, gangsta rap, lyricism, sex rap, and spoken word. Her sex raps, lyricism, and spoken word are key factors that make this album a listening success. Ms. Tee tells her life all from the perspective of a female baller.

Female Baller was a classic NOLA rap album that came from Cash Money Records during their heyday in the 1990s era. Now this was during the pre-Universal era of Cash Money before the national distribution deal with Universal Records when Female Baller was released. Bounce music, materialism, gangsta rap, and lyricism were the recipe for success on Cash Money albums at the time. Mannie Fresh produced a majority of Female Baller as he  did with all pre-Universal era Cash Money albums.

Cheezy What, Cheezy Who was an infamous diss track to NOLA rap artist Cheeky Blakk. At the time, Ms. Tee and Cheeky Blakk had beef with each other because Cheeky Blakk had sex with Ms. Tee’s boyfriend/husband Pimp Daddy. This event had both to have gotten into an altercation. Cheeky Blakk was signed to Tombstone Records and Ms. Tee was signed to Cash Money Records so that fueled the beef more.  The Ms. Tee vs. Cheeky Blakk beef was famous throughout New Orleans, Louisiana. However, to this day, Ms. Tee and Cheeky Blakk are friends now.

If He Don’t Trick is a sex rap track written by Ms. Tee. If He Don’t Trick exposes and is aimed towards men who are unfaithful to their woman by sleeping and dating other women. Track If He Don’t Trick has a smooth slow melody incorporated into bounce music. If He Don’t Trick samples The Floaters - Float On.

I Like It (Mannie Fresh Style) is an instrumental that incorporates bounce music with electronically processed beats through a synthesizer. Many tracks on pre-Universal era Cash Money albums that had “Mannie Fresh Style” after whichever track. Many “Mannie Fresh Style” were on the pre-Universal era Cash Money albums. These “Mannie Fresh Style” were basically instrumentals.

Female Baller by Ms. Tee was a slept on classic! No track is worth skipping through. You can listen to Female Baller all the way through without skipping any tracks. Her sex raps, lyricism, and spoken word are key factors that make this album a listening success. The bounce music match up with the beats.

The Torpedos - For Duty And Humanity album review

For Duty And Humanity album is a mix of instrumental covers and original songs. One side of the cassette is instrumentals and the other side is vocals. The other side is all originals by The Torpedos band. Surf rock meets classic rock on this particular album. The surf rock here is similar to that boogie music. The artwork you see on the front cover is similar to the album cover artwork on punk rock albums. Real monochromatic with mostly a black cover. Dick Chicet does the guitar playing throughout the entirety of the album. Johnny Lightning performs the percussion. He is the percussionist. The Torpedos band is from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Wild One is a Link Wray cover. Phantom on Lane 12 is a Crider cover. Monster from the Surf is a Frank Sinatra Jr. cover. Pacific Shores is a Bergman cover. Half of the album is basically instrumental cover songs by famous musicians.
