Rhythm K - Truce single review

This is for The OG's is something for the OG's. OG's in the game or whatever the hustle may be. Rhythm K gives out a track of something the OG's can relate to. Intentionally, this track he wrote is clearly for an older audience as they are the ones whom will be able to understand this track easier than the younger audience. Rhythm K can relate to the OG's. This is for The OG's has that old school gangsta rap sound from the 90s.

Peace in the Hood is about the 1992 gang truce between the Bloods & Crips. Rhythm K is all about bringing peace to both sides of the rag. He wants to bring peace to the neighborhood. Again, Peace in the Hood has that old school gangsta rap sound from the 90s.

The Maytals - Straight From The Yard (An Hour Live) album review

Their spiritual sound is rooted in Jamaican gospel and American gospel. The Mayatals are notable for their ‘straight from church’ style of singing in the Ska music scene. Roots reggae is one way to describe this album and The Maytals. The Mayatals had a small recognizable fanbase during the Ska era. The Mayatals have had a firm grasp on reggae since 1962. Many songs on Straight From The Yard (An Hour Live) are hot and ready to knock the audience off their feet. Most of this album is a live recording from the Sunsplash concert.

Emil Cohen - Meet Emil Cohen album review

Emil Cohen is the funniest American-Jewish humorist you will ever meet! The NY Daily Mirror dubbed Emil Cohen as a side splitter. Emil knows how to keep the crowd highly amused. Emil Cohen's comedic presentation of Jewish humor is truly unique. His choices of Yiddish folk tales stories make him stand out.

SWIFF - Land of Funk album review

SWIFF is Southerners Wit An Intellect Fa Funk. The Land of Funk album is a mixture of Funk, Jazz, Soul, and Rap music. SWIFF was underrated and entirely overlooked back in the days of the gangsta rap G-Funk era when Warren G, Dr. Dre, Nemesis, Lil Sin, and Jayo Felony were taking over the Rap scene. The whole album is very good and quite intellectually funkadelic.

Soeur Sourire - Dominique single review

Soeur Sourire was internationally known for her hit song called Dominique back in 1963. Dominique had gained airplay on the radio waves in countries such as France, Canada, United States, Belize, Mexico, Spain, Guatemala, and Belgium. That folk song was her most well known hit around the world. Le Soleil was very much a soliloquy to Dominique.

Soeur Sourire - Tous Les Chemins (All The Roads) single review

All The Roads is an overlooked religious folk song .
Soeur Sourire tells us that all the roads of this world will lead you to Heaven and the roaming wind will take you toward the sun, which is euphemistically encoded for Hell. Joy is in her heart as the meadows sing along with the flowers. Soeur Sourire has her joy in the Lord. All the roads on Planet Earth are strewn with friendship. The Lord is waiting to meet you! Somehow all the roads of the plain disappear in spite of joys and sorrows towards the bright horizon. All roads of life are full of hope.

Soeur Sourire was internationally known for her hit song called Dominique back in 1963. Dominique had gained airplay on the radio waves in countries such as France, Canada, United States, Belize, Mexico, Spain, Guatemala, and Belgium. That folk song was her most well known hit around the world.

Tweet - Taxi single review

Cab Ride (Taxi) samples the intro music from the retro television show Taxi. Tweet's voice was so sultry and rich in harmony on the subtle song entitled Taxi. The song called Taxi should have been a single alone along with a music video to accompany this song. I don't know why there wasn't a music video for Taxi. I love the music production! The bridge is the best part of the song. If you just listen closely.

Iceberg was an ok song. It was good. Iceberg alone should have been selected as a potential single as a single for the album. If the song was a music video, Tweet would've sent people back to the ice castle that she had melted in the Oops music video.
Iceberg tells the funny tale of how Tweet slipped up and fell in love with an iceberg met up with an iceberg who coincidentally turns out to be cold as ice and knew he could damn be SO COLD!! The relationship was greatly hot for the time it lasted until it sunk like the Titanic. Tweet proceeds to sing mourningly of a beyond sinking relationship for the entire duration of the Iceberg song.

You is another one of my favorites. Tweet takes it back to the old school a cappella production sound on this one.Tweet wonders what she ever saw in this particular man in this song. She fell in love with him at first sight. Tweet wonders what she ever saw in him. That's right. In other words he is getting the boot at the very end of You.

J-Bone - Flipside Hustla’s album review

Flipside Hustla’s by J-Bone came out on cassette only in 1993 on U Be U Records.

Intro To A Killa is the longest intro on an album EP ever heard. Most of Intro To A Killa is random shout outs and chanting over an annoying jazz saxophone note. The intro gets annoyingly repetitive and a head trip to listen to after the 4 minute mark.

Insanity Avenue starts off with a catchy nome de plume bassline. An overbearing jazz saxophone note is used as the sample hook for Insanity Avenue. The beats are the shit! These are trill ass beats. J-Bone had the best beats in the city at that time.

Murder Zone is a classic example of gangsta rap. Murder Zone is about how the city of Saginaw, Michigan has become a murder zone; in other words a murder capital similar to Baltimore, Chicago, and New Orleans. J-Bone details life of being caught up in a murder zone. The track Murder Zone is about criminal activity and murder of course. Murder Zone is 3 to 4 minutes long.

While this album may have had some annoyingly overbearing samples that have been played out on other rappers albums, J-Bone’s debut album is a somewhat decent effort. Although some of the lyrics weren’t the best written so far.

(J-Bone was from the East Side as Mack Tha Jacka, Dirty Jerk, and Madam Dane are. The East Side is also known as the Flipside.)

B-Mad - Outta Bedrock album review

One will automatically thought of Pop Rap due to the large bold Aerial/AdLib font typeface with mixed colored letters that were popular on 80s music and 90s music. But this album was released on cassette in 1993. So we shouldn't be too surprised. Most of this music is old school hip-hop meets gangsta rap similar to NFTP, Project Born, and Took-N-Bone. B-Mad is from Flint, Michigan.

2 Hard 2 Hype - New Born Leader / Let The Horns Blow single review

2 Hard 2 Hype was the first Hip Hop/Rap group out of San Antonio, Texas that predated P.K.O. (Poundz Ki'z Ozeez) by a couple of years or so. 2 Hard 2 Hype was formed in 1987 when the Texas Hip Hop/Rap scene was just getting started with the creation and formation of their own music pillars of formation with groups such as Nemesis (Somethin' Fresh aka Something Fresh), Ghetto Boys (now Geto Boys), Bad Mutha Goose and the Brothers Grimm, New Def'nition, and Project Crew (ATX) along with many others.

Anyway, 2 Hard 2 Hype was the first Hip Hop/Rap group out of San Antonio, Texas to have vinyl pressed up that predated P.K.O.! Only 20 copies of their vinyl single were ever pressed up for JP Productions/J I Productions. 2 Hard 2 Hype was a local deal in SA.

Today you can find 2 Hard 2 Hype online at the most popular viral video website in the universe ever called YouTube. 2 Hard 2 Hype releases most of their songs on YouTube to the internet market of music these days. Some of the 2 Hard 2 Hype songs are old and some of their songs are new. 2013 is when 2 Hard 2 Hype debuted on YouTube.

They did a song on the A side called New Born Leader. New Born Leader was a well known hit in San Antonio at the time. The dub instrumental is just as dope as the original song.

Now RCR was another Hip Hop/Rap group from San Antonio, Texas as was 2 Hard 2 Hype. RCR predated P.K.O. as well too. They did a song on the B side called Let The Horns Blow. Now Let The Horns Blow was a selection of horn synth mixed into funk.

AC/DC - Live album review

The AC/DC - Live album got well received international news coverage from news organizations such as New York Times, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Chicago Tribune, and whatnot. The Live album was an album that hard rock fans and heavy AC/DC fans played the shit out of back in the 1990s. AC/DC has always successfully killed it during their live performances on stage. Every song from this album was recorded from a live AC/DC concert performance on stage. Live was released on vinyl, CD, and cassette.

C-Bo - Cali Connection album review

C-Bo returned to music when signed to Black Market Records out of Sacramento, California in 2012 with the Cali Connection album on his plate. This and Orca are his best efforts for the year of 2012. Young Buck is the most featured artist all over this album more than anybody else. C-Bo, once again, gives us that West Coast Mafia sound of his when he did return to the scene. The production team has done a good stellar job in terms of production. He still has his gangsta rap flows from after all these years.

Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies album review

You will love the auto wah effect used on the first song Rotten Apple. Alice in Chains does use auto wah in their live performances. It differs from live versions between studio versions of songs from the album. The two and a half minute instrumental Don't Follow is off the hook! You'll love to buy it. Stay Away is another good song.

Alice in Chains - Dirt album review

The Dirt album is just as good as the Jar of Flies album from almost not too long ago. Dirt has the same live performance sound also! As well as their famous usage of auto wah. The album cover is similar of Vallejo's Thicker Than Water. Even though the Dirt album was not a huge success, you will still like this album. Dirt is a collectors item album to some Alice in Chains fans.

Tsukasa Records - nenigedit EP EP review

The nenigedit project was done in 2010. It is a three song project so the duration is not very long. The EP is a typical electronic mashup album. nenigedit EP’s electronic mashup is the best Tsukasa Records mashup ever! The remixes are great! So is taw.

The album cover is the face of purple haired schoolgirl Tsukasa Hiragii, a character from the Japanese otaku anime Lucky Star which is an international sensation. Her trademark signature is her yellow ribbon bow which is also the logo for Tsukasa Records.

Most of the artists do have an obsession based on Tsukasa. Inumoto is the brains behind Tsukasa Records along with 5 other people. Hypo77 being one of them. Inumoto has a noticeable obsession with the Tsukasa Hiragii character from the Japanese anime Lucky Star. Surprisingly the record label has not run into any copyright and trademark issues of the name or usage of the Lucky Star character Tsukasa Hiiragi. Gotta love that doujinshi culture!

Albert Redeaux self-titled EP EP review

This cassette came out in 1997 on ATV Recordz out of Austin, Texas. Probably only 700 copies exist. It only came out on cassette. The sound is very New Jack Swing which was outdated by 1997 terms and standards. Shanda Davis is the vocalist on this EP as she is for all the other ATV Recordz products.

The love is felt on Love Jones. This sounds like something Ginuwine would sing about. It has Da Bassment Crew/Swing Mob sound to it. It's a very short song to say the least. The love felt on Love Jones is as smooth as smooth night sex during a romantic escapade. Albert Redeaux was clearly influenced by Ginuwine as Love Jones has a Ginuwine influenced sound to it.

Red Light is a smooth late at night, sex in the bed love song. Red Light is the cut single that featured Shanda Davis. The slow jam cut Red Light was a hit by Albert Redeaux that was played on radio stations all over Austin, Texas in 1997.

Mahogany - Straight Talk album review

Mahogany is a female soul singer from Flint, Michigan. She is known as Tia Channel who was affiliated with Silver Sun, Underground City, DOA, and UBEU. The graphics for this album were not good and very unprofessional. A photoshop job could be used better to clean up and better promotion for this album. Mahogany should have went to Black Cat Productions, Kid Styles Graphics, or Manor Grafix for her album cover because the graphics were not good.
