Sin Loc - Smell The Smoke, See The Fire album review
For those who don't know, this album was supposed to be released in 1999/2000 on Gotcha Bakk Records and Big Game Records, but due to the decline of gangsta rap in the music industry and distributors not wanting to take this project on, Smell The Smoke, See The Fire by Sin Loc remained unreleased for 14 years. Production was done by Funkysoulbrotha, Black Jason and Sin Loc. This is perfect G-Funk. Tredding Water, 4 Ya Hat, and Super Rhymes 1999 should have been singles. Too bad this wasn't released in 1999 as Sin Loc had planned. Smell The Smoke, See The Fire by Sin Loc was released in 2013.
[Sin Loc was the person who wore the Freddy Kuger mask in 1993 on Steady Dippin', Piru Love, and Bangin' On Wax music videos. Sin Loc was one of the rappers on the Bangin' On Wax project series. He was on the Crip side for the project.]
Tredding Water is another good song. Sin Loc tells us his life story on Tredding Water by getting autobiographical with his bad self. Tredding Water is a biographical song chronicling Sin Loc's life as Tredding Water focuses of chronology of Sin Loc's life from birth to the current time period.
Smell The Smoke, See The Fire is the title track of this album which was meant to be released in 1999. This track was recorded in 1999. Great use of the Big Lurch sample on the title track Smell The Smoke, See The Fire.
Super Rhymes 1999 samples Jimmy Spencer - Super Rhymes. Super Rhymes 1999 is the best song off of this album!! Sin Loc pays tribute and homage to hip hop and rap music on Super Rhymes 1999 as Super Rhymes 1999 revisits the original Super Rhymes.
Cheddar is a biographical song of Sin Loc's life. It's all about survival in the dope game even when that shit don't work. Ain't nothing funny when you're broke. Straight up reality here. Another track laced with G-Funk beats. Black Jason produced Cheddar. Black Jason and Lil D (Sin Loc's son) are featured on this song.
Straight From The Heart is a dedication song to Eazy-E. Sin Loc gets teary and heartfelt by coming straight from the heart on Straight From The Heart with his emotions. Straight From The Heart is a true raw wholehearted heartfelt song. You can feel the sorrow, mournful emotions inside of this song when you listen to it.
Just Bounce is a song to floss to in your ride whether it's on Dayton Rims, Caddilac, or Regals.
Win, Lose, Or Draw is about making decisions in life. It’s basically about making choices. Dead On They Ass is a hit'em up 187 song with fast paced G-Funk beats. Snoring samples Marvin Gaye - Sexual Healing. 4 Ya Hat showcases Sin Loc's lyrical talent. The bass goes super hard. So do the beats. Sin Loc tells us he's alive and well reppin' the CPT on Still Rollen' with Black Jason.

Hypo77 - Love EP review
Love EP was released by Hypo77. As you know, Hypo77 runs Tsukasa Records with inumoto out of Tokyo, Japan. The theme for this extended play is love. Think White Day. The front cover shows Tsukasa Hiiragi with heart-filled box of chocolates. Symbolizing that the present day is White Day. The album cover is quite abstract.
Valentine Love is a very ambient trance which turns into a mellow song. An ambient mellow trance. The pace is very slow but does not get fast. I love the ambient smooth melody on this song with the lyrics. The beats do match up with the lyrics indeed.
Hypo77's Mashup is the best Tsukasa Records mashup ever! It is quite best along with the remix. The remixes are great! So is taw. Most of the artists do have an obsession based on Tsukasa. Inumoto is the brains behind Tsukasa Records along with 5 other people. Hypo77 being one of them.
The album cover is the face of purple haired schoolgirl Tsukasa Hiragii, a character from the Japanese otaku anime Lucky Star which is an international sensation. Her trademark signature is her yellow ribbon bow which is also the logo for Tsukasa Records.
Surprisingly the record label has not run into any copyright and trademark issues of the name or usage of the Lucky Star character Tsukasa Hiiragi. Gotta love that doujinshi culture!

Project Born - Jack the Reapper album review
Project Born has put out some good shit since they were down with Psychopathic Records and Insane Clown Posse. While this album may have satisfied the needs of some Project Born fans, it did not necessarily satisfy some. 2002 was not a good year for Project Born. Regardless of whether it be EPs or not, the mood was dark and horrorcore.

Dangerous D 1992 album review
The 1992 Dangerous D album was released by JUT Productions and U BE U in Saginaw, Michigan.
Somethin Fo Yo Dome is a rap track with that New Jack Swing sound laced on Latin Rock flavor. Somethin Fo Yo Dome is an intellectual rap track that deals with social and cultural conflicts having issues. Wisdom runs deep. Somethin Fo Yo Dome will give you something to think about.
Once you change your philosophy, you change your thought pattern. Once you change your thought pattern, you change your attitude is what the sampled male voice from an old political motivational speaker segment is telling us at the very beginning of the introduction at Somethin Fo Yo Dome by Dangerous D. Wisdom runs deep. Attitudes reflect thought patterns very deeply.
Dangerous D tackles the issues of racism on this intellectual track. Racism is a crazy maze as Dangerous D refers it to. Racism is not something where wisdom runs deep. Racism does not grow inside of wisdom.
Causal Fuckin’ is about sexual intercourse henceforth the title. Sexual relationships come in many different styles and many different position. They can be serious or casual. Dangerous D was in his early 20s when he wrote Causal Fuckin’.
He’s not tied down to one hoe because most bitches in the world all want the same thing which is marriage, babies, and a brain. Dangerous D wants to get buck naked.
In The Rain sounds very similar to an 80s New Jack Swing love song. In The Rain is very soulful nome de plume.
Play My Rekord is a hodgepodge of samples.

Zig Zag - Chocolate Butter EP review
This EP was released on vinyl in 1996 from Z&Z Associates Label and Vid-Kid Records. Zig Zag is a funk band from Detroit, Michigan.
Kissing Boutique is a funky love song over a funky sampled loop with a treble reduced percussion selection. The clavs are ok. Ebony is the female vocalist. Kissing Boutique is for all the freaks out there. Chocolate Butter is a hodgepodge of funk and soul. Chocolate Butter samples Jayo Felony - Sherm Stick.

Enya - Orinoco Flow single review
The lead single called Orinoco Flow avoids repeating the successful formula pattern of Caribbean Blue from the Shepherd Moons album. Orinoco Flow is what made this album successful as Caribbean Blue on the album called Shepherd Moons had become successful. Storms in Africa lead to equally compelling slightly calmer results as to being a choice single for this album. Atlantic made a good choice by making Storms in Africa a single.

Sufjan Stevens - Illinoise album review
Come on! Feel the Illinoise! is a song cover parody of Come on! Feel the noise! by the Irish punk rock band Quiet Riot. There are treasures of pleasure on this song referring to The World Exposition. Chicago is the new age city which is better known as the White City on this album. Through the midst of confusion and anxiety, entrepreneurs will lead us to the promise land. Every song off on this album is related to Illinois culture.
The Jacksonville song is about Jacksonville, Illinois which poetically explores the past and present of the town for this current generation. Jacksonville was a major stopping point in the Underground Railroad prior to the US Civil War. Jacksonville is home to a school for the deaf and blind.

Soeur Sourire - La Nonne Chantante album review
La Nonne Chantante is French for The Chanting Nun. Soeur Sourire was internationally known for her hit song called Dominique back in 1963. Soeur Sourire's songs were religious folk songs based on the religion of Christianity. All of her songs were sung in French. The lingually correct name of Soeur Sourire is Sœur Sourire.
Soeur Sourire was known for carrying her companion guitar named Adele which she would perform religious folk songs on during daybreak at her local convent for the sisters and children at the local church. As an adult, she was very passionate as singer-songwriter! Most of Soeur Sourire's songs were religious folk songs based on the religion of Christianity. She is very fluent in speaking French and that is why all of her songs are sung in French. Soeur Sourire had performed religious folk songs on her guitar for the Mother Superiors, Sisters, and saints at her convent sometimes during her religious studies as mandated by the Dominican Order.
Je Voudrais (I Would Like) is a personal heartfelt religious folk song written by Soeur Sourire herself. You will enjoy this folk song very much! Soeur Sourire would like to be the wind singing everywhere and dancing everywhere. She would like praise thee Lord while she is dancing in the wind as she is singing religious folk hymns of course. Soeur Sourire would like to be a cloud floating in the sky next to the sun. As you see the cloud, look for thy face O Lord. Soeur Sourire would like to be her favorite instrument which is a guitar with a singing heart. Like a guitar, Soeur Sourire will fulfill and finish this religious composition piece of a folk song.
Cactus Flower (Fleur De Cactus) is an overlooked religious folk song. The cactus flower is chosen by the Lord to bloom on the paths of Paradise and to sing the glory of the Lords name in a respectful religious manner. Soeur Sourire tells us when your imagination tells you that it is senseless to throw in the sponge and escape the negative wind. Throw in the sponge is similar metaphor phrase to 'Thrown in the towel.".
Another overlooked religious folk song is All The Roads. Soeur Sourire tells us that all the roads of this world will lead you to Heaven and the roaming wind will take you toward the sun, which is euphemistically encoded for Hell. Joy is in her heart as the meadows sing along with the flowers. Soeur Sourire has her joy in the Lord. All the roads on Planet Earth are strewn with friendship. The Lord is waiting to meet you! Somehow all the roads of the plain disappear in spite of joys and sorrows towards the bright horizon. All roads of life are full of hope.
Les Pieds Des Missionaires is To The Missionaries in French. Les Pieds Des Missionaires is dedicated to all the missionaries around the world. For the highest of mountains to the lowest of valley plains is this song dedicated to all Christian missionaries. I really do believe this religious folk song had potential to be released as a single by Polydor or Phillips.
Ma Petit Muse is My Little Inspiration in French. The Lord is an inspiration to Soeur Sourire. His happiness melts in her heart. The Lord is an inspiration to Soeur Sourire to be a nun, a devout Christian member of the church, and a member of the Dominican Order.
This wonderful album is recommended if you are very religious and practice the religion of Christianity or if you are a devout Catholic. If you enjoy religious folk songs, then this is an ideal album for you!
