P.K.O. - Don't Fuck With Texas album review

This album was released on Youngsta Records in 1989. (For those who own the Don't Fuck With Texas album on CD and cassette, the names for Don't Fuck With Texas may vary.) P.K.O. was a rap group from San Antonio, Texas! But get this! The whole album plays as one song so you can't skip any tracks. That's an error that Yo! Records and Midwest Records had made and never fixed it. (Later Youngsta Records titles were also distributed by Clout, SoSouth, Select-O-Hits, and Southwest Wholesale.)

Don't Fuck With Texas is the hardest intro and first track. Don't Fuck With Texas is the hardest intro ever known to humankind!! It samples Van Halen - 1984! It’s staggering how Nino managed to get away with using 1984 as an uncleared sample on the Don't Fuck With Texas introduction because if Van Halen knew about this, they would have filed a lawsuit as they did with Tone Loc. Not sure how Nino managed to pull this. Dopest intro ever!!

World War discusses the members of P.K.O.'s point of view on war in general. This is a pro-war track rather than a pro-peace track. Pony J is the instigator stating that he wants war rather than peace. He declares war on his enemies who used to be friends with him but turned out to be snitches and hoes. Those people were users and posers taking advantage of him anyway. That’s abusive. Other than that, Pony J is the main instigator of war on this track as it is a Pony J solo.

Life In The Ghetto talks about what type of shit goes on in the hood. Such as drugs, abuse and poverty.  Pony J touches and tackles the subjects of criminal mischief, drug trafficking, speeding, vandalism, crime, and poverty of course. Life In The Ghetto has some funky drums programmed by DJ Snake at the beginning.

Money Mackin' Trick is an edited version of Money Mackin' Bitch , which would later appear on the Armed And Dangerous album in 1990. Linny Nance from Dallas sings the background vocals. The production was done by DJ Snake.

Don't Fuck With Texas was overlooked. This album is more rock and hip hop than the others.
There should have only 2 skits instead of 4. Around 14 tracks would have been appropriate. If this album had been longer and had more songs, it would be even more of a stellar debut effort. Their Armed And Dangerous album goes even HARDER!!

Jessica Betts - Jessie Pearl album review

Jessica Betts - Jessie Pearl was released in 2008 on Missy Elliott's Goldmind Inc.! This album was produced by Missy Elliott and Timbaland. The Jessie Pearl album was released by Goldmind Inc., GrandQrue, Resurrection, and Atlantic Records.

Hey! What’s the deal on Dealio on Dealeo? Dealeo is a great song! The production sound on the song Dealeo has that vintage vinyl sound right at every bright beginning. The percussion ensemble is perfect with a wide array of percussion instruments. Also the BPM is fast paced yet the song tempo remains slow. Think slow tempo.

Jessica wants to know what the deal on Dealeo. The man she's after looks so good, fly, and fine. Jessica wants to know the man’s name. That particular man looks good to Jessica. So things get crackin'. Jessica Betts is not your average hoe. That's what Jessica let's us know.

Jump On It will remind you of the Dead or Alive song You Spin Round (Like A Record). This is one of those tracks that makes you want to dance. It's a Dance track.

Jessica's main objective is to get her man to do what exactly of what the song title says. Jessica has tried it and tried it again but it's so damn hard when the man has so many friends. Jessica wants to win her affection over his love. Jessica wants to win her affection over him to put it bluntly. No matter how hard she tries, the man ends up rejecting her. But Jessica is resilient and doesn't give up that easily. No. It's not over for soulstress Jessica Betts.

Block has that Blues and Gospel feel to it. The organ used on this song give off that church vibe feel in the background. It really gives into the mood of this song. The guitar plucks really give off an extraordinaire rugged Blues sounds with gritty Chicago soul sound. Think about a mixture of Chicago Blues and Chicago soul when you listen to Block.

Jessica Betts is a cold hearted mind from the streets of Southside Chicago. Jessica has got to find a way to eat. She needs food like everyone else. She might have to pack heat because where Jessica comes from packing heat is considered project living. She tries to change the lifestyle in her life but every time she tries she can't do right. You can't judge Jessica Betts until you've walked in her shoes.

Jessica Betts was born and raised on the block. Jessica Betts talks about how she's from the streets and she packs heat. She talks about what she knows about what's going on the block. All she knows is the block. Anything can go on the block. You name it! Jessica knows literally everything related about the block and street life.

Jessica had to be a grown up by the age of 10 because she had a family that she needed to tend to and feed. Jessica had to get in where she could fit in by doing dirt. They depended on her. This is not the life she wanted to live. She's not looking for any sympathy. So don't give her any. That's how it was for her. Jessica was raised in the streets. Streets is real shit!

The song Crush is about love. Jessica Betts has a crush on this man. She will do whatever her man wants do because she has a crush on him. The first touch of love flew Jessica's way. The man earned her love somehow in way we don't know. Jessica will give her all in regards to her man. The first time they made love it made Jessica cry. He always tells the truth. There's something about her man's smile that drives Jessica Betts buckwild. He's the only one for her.

Whisper features Missy Elliott with them southern rap beats with heavy bass. She has style. The bass is super duper dope. Missy Elliott does her rapping as usual.

Can we make love before we say goodbye? That's a question that many couples ask before they break up. Jessica Betts has the answer in this soulful upbeat song called Whisper.

Jessica will make sure this is the last time they'll have sex again. If they can't be lovers, they can be friends. They broke up and got their feelings hurt. If Jessica had her and one last time she'll promise him sexual intercourse of course. She remembers how freaky he is. Does he still love her as she prayed? She ain't sleeping with no one else but him. Jessica needs sexual healing sometimes. So that's why she calls him before he decides to go. Can they have another Love TKO? Let's make love before we go.

To sum it all up, track is about Jessica having last time sex before she says goodbye to her ex-boyfriend. They both broke up and knew this relationship ain't gonna last. They have sex one last time. Think Freaky Deaky and Sexual Healing.

Superhero is about how a man came into her life to be her boyfriend. Superhero is a unique quirky slow jam.

Nobody's here but Jessica Betts doesn't feel you. Jessica is wanting to get to know a guy and be with him. She's talking to him. She'll use her superpowers such as x-ray vision. Jessica will save us. The night continues on slowly. Jessica will look not her mans heart and see what's missing. Superhero baby. She's getting to know a guy and be with him.

What's Your Name is about Jessica getting to know a guy and be with him. Jessica wants to get to know him better. What's a sign? Of love that is of course. He looks so good with his brightened smile. He made quite an impression on Jessica.

Moon is an upbeat bouncy song that to me matches Chicago Blues. Definitely single material!! The beginning of Moon is quite upbeat and catchy. Missy Elliott is on the background vocals. She does her usual ad-lib rapping too.

Jessica loves to watch him sleep. It's like looking into the sky whilst watching the stars glaze. The river flows gently down his skin as her man takes a bath. His eyes are like stars. They are both out in space and out of sight. Think out of sight, out of mind. She can hear the chirping sounds. She loves to watch him eat. It feels like making love n the moon whenever they have sex. Summertime love is at it again. Fuck the dumb shit.

Don't Make Me Wait is another love song. This song's particular mood is quite sad and painful. However this particular song has a hard rock edge to it at the very ending.

She remembers when they both started as friends. Jessica gave him all her love and time. Suddenly it changed. Don't make me wait on you because my heart won't let me go this way is what Jessica is trying to say. All this love is for you. Her love is too go to loose. Jessica does not want to wait another day.

Why Me is definitely single material!! She has style. Why Me is a spiritual religious song. So feels ensues. Why Me a cry for rebirth, resurrection, and restoration into the place that God had intended for Jessica Betts. God knows Jessica is not perfect. Jessica knows she's not perfect. But joy makes all the pain and evils go away. Nobody knows what Jessica's going through.

The beginning of I Miss You starts off with distorted rock sounds from an electrical keyboard. When's the next time Jessica will see her man? That's the question for this song right here. She's in way too deep. The title says it all.

Smooth to me is a smooth love song similar to Come To Me. A reduction in volume level and production sound on the song Smooth as well. I haven't heard anything like this in a while.

She feels it smoothly when she lays her eyes on her man. Her eyes caught him suddenly. She can picture them cuddling. It's nice to meet him. Jessica digs his style. Everything he does is so smooth. She digs his style. Haven't seen that in a while.

Come To Me is a smooth love song. He's the only for Jessica Betts. That's why Jessica wants her man to come to her so Jessica can keep him all to herself.

Unique Girl is single material! Jessica Betts tells us on Unique Girl how she is a 'unique girl' hence the title. Jessica Betts is not your average girl from around the way. She is a butch tomboy from the Southside Chicago streets whom has similar looks to model and singer Grace Jones. Jessica is not just a one hit wonder or a Beyonce clone. Jessica is Jessica Betts. She likes it that way and wants to remain that way. With that said, Jessica Betts is truly a unique girl.

Dealeo and Whisper should have both been singles if they were promoted properly. Block, I Miss You, Moon as well! Unique Girl and Why Me also! Corrupted and Smooth were ok tracks. Smooth, Come To Me, and Unique Girl are all bonus tracks on the Jessie Pearl album.

For some business marketing perspective reason, the distributor for Goldmind Inc., Atlantic, decided to release Jessie Pearl in Japan instead of the US. Which to fans was a bad move for Atlantic Records and Missy herself. Missy Elliott should have switched distribution to RED, Clout, eOne, or Sony for her Goldmind Inc. vanity label. There was not much of a market for Jessica Betts in the United States. That's why Jessica Betts’ Jessie Pearl album was released in Japan.

If Atlantic wasn't so interested in Missy Elliott and Timbaland, things would have been different for Jessica Betts. She should have released 3 albums on Missy's label and Atlantic. Truth and Soul would have been a good label for Jessica Betts because it worked out for Nicole Wray of Lady. For those who don't know, Jessica Betts was winning contestant on Missy Elliott's Road To Stardom back in 2005. Jessica Betts is from Chicago. Jessica Betts has that Chicago Blues, R&B/Soul, Jazz, and Pop flare to her music. She has true talent. Jessica Betts will remind you of Grace Jones as she emulates Grace Jones.

The reason why Jessica Betts titled he sophomore album Jessie Pearl is because this album is a dedication to her grandmother Jessie Pearl Hadnott. She had decided this title for her album in 2006. The Jessie Pearl album was supposed to be released in 2007 but Missy Elliott pushed it to 2008 due to constant retooling of song material. By 2008, the Jessie Pearl album released in Japan only due management issues and contractual obligations.

All in all, this album was definitely overlooked by the music business, Missy Elliott, and Atlantic. The fans deserve better. Jessica Betts is criminally overlooked! Her voice, energy, and style are just incredible! She has that flare too.

T-Lye - I Gotstakickit single review

T-Lye is an artist from Sacramento, California. T-Lye was on Sick Bay Productions in 1994 which E-Moe, Sicx, and Big Hollis were on as well. They were a part of Sick Bay Productions. Sick Bay Productions had artists from the Bay Area and Sacramento. Sick Bay was active from 1994 to 1998. E-Moe and Big Hollis did the productions on I Gostakickit. I Gotstakickit was released on cassette only as a demo in 1994. T-Lye was 16 when she recorded her demo.

I Gotstakickit is about the day in a life of T-Lye. It's about how T-Lye kicks it with the Sick Bay Crew. It is filled with super heavy G-Funk bass along with that Bay Area sound. Think Mobb Music and gangsta rap filled with hip hop beats. Street Wize is about T-Lye's knowledge of the streets. Female vocalist Tasha B. makes an appearance on this song. Tasha B. reminds me of a little of R&B. Then it cuts into a snippet of a shorter version of I Gotstakickit.
E-Moe did the drum programming on the I Gotstakickit track. Any beats done by E-Moe are always on point. Big Hollis has done stellar production too.

Street Wize is a 3 1/2 minute track.
Living the mobstyle lifestyle since the age of 7 and now T-Lye’s 16. She spent 9 years without the help from her mother. T-Lye be slanging that crack rock right down the street. Flipping that check every 1st and 15th day of the month. T-Lye has to have mail because she can’t live without it. She’s got a kid now and can’t work ain’t about it. T-Lye would rather live a criminal lifestyle cooperating with illegal business to earn an income. A fresh pair of Jordan’s are way too important for T-Lye. In other words, her priorities are fucked up. Fools be trying to jack T-Lye. Her father never taught her nothing so she became street wize.

Her dope spot started getting hot so she figured that it’s time to stop. She doesn’t want to show her face to an undercover cop. So she found herself another dope spot for her narcotics ring out in the boondocks. Obviously the boondocks is a preferable choice since nobody’s out there. Eventually T-Lye went on to get her education. She is on time and never short of her medication. Her occupation was a sworn drug dealer, but now she’s going straight while making money. E-Moe tells no lies. You gotta be street wize. Coming from the Sick Bay you gotta be street wize.

Whatever went down with Sick Bay Productions and T-Lye remains a mystery. Maybe it was just for fun or maybe the money wasn't right at the time. It's such a such shame that artists like this get overlooked. This single was too short for the fans.

Gina Thompson - From If You Only Knew Sampler album review

Ya Di Ya was her first single featuring Missy Elliott. The music video could have been improved with a little more money. Not her fault. Elektra and WMG were on the verge of going bankrupt around 1999-2001. This one is a standout track!

This is what Ya Di Ya is all about:
Gina just came from a late night, but once she got in she didn't feel right. The guy is uptight from the first time they met because Gina did not return his page. If he pages her once or twice, that's nice. It's crazy for ten times that he pages her. The mess that the guy is talking about Gina wants to say bye to him. The guy she is trying to get with is talking about irrelevant nonsense and it makes her want to leave him. Gina does not want to hear it. She does not want to be bothered by him. He is just really getting on her nerves.

Gina is not in the mood for the drama this evening. So Gina think the guy should be leaving because she doesn't need this or him because is it doesn't pay the bills. There are more guys with more skills that will definitely satisfy Gina. His talking is weighing out his good looks.

Ladies Anthem has a really great beat! Her voice is really great on it! Ladies Anthem is dedicated to all the females and women out there. This one's a dedication track to all the classy ladies. It has great vocals as well as the lyrics. You all should definitely listen to this. It has great vocals as well as the lyrics.

The hook of Caught Up will stick in you head for days on end. Caught Up would have been great for a single and a music video! It features Lil Mo in the background. You see Caught Up is a very soothing song. This one is a standout track! It has great vocals as well! This song is another love ballad. The end was OK.

Up All Night is a romantic song featuring Jon B. This one is a standout track! Up All Night is again another love ballad. Gina Thompson has been up all night wondering what she should do next to advance their relationship. She has been up all night wondering that as she waits for her lover in bed.

Les Jumeaux ‎– Feathercut album review

The album Feathercut by Les Jumeaux is a very overlooked masterpiece album filled sounds of electronic ambience. There's way more than just enough techno influences. Most of Les Jumeaux's album are filled with techno influences. Quite right too! Not too slow or fast either. The equilibrium established on this album is perfect. Most of the musical production stands out to most Les Jumeaux fans.

The language of the vocals in French and English so this whole album filled with bilingual vocals. Female vocalists contribute the most when it comes to vocals for this album. The language of the vocals in French The vocals top it all off for the whole album!

Various Artists - Miami Vice album review

The instrumentals on this album are the best! As the instrumentals on the 2012 Les Miserables soundtrack are. The number of instrumental musical pieces for tracks were fine. The bass and pan volume were on point. The instrumentals did a superb job fitting in with the rest of the album. Most of the compositions were hand-picked by the executive producers at MCA Records and the film director of the green screen sets.

While this soundtrack album may have been too short, the instrumentals did a superb job fitting in with the rest of the album. The number of instrumental musical pieces were fine. The treble was swell. More than half of the songs on this terrific soundtrack were way too short to be honest. It's not the best and it's not the worst. Hey! At least this album is not the soundtrack for Footloose.

Cowardly Leon - The Pocketwatch EP EP review

The artwork is the number one thing to love about this extended play. Shadow variants and gradient shading is professionally on point! It might not be Pen-N-Pixel or Clout Graphics. So the artwork might not be all that great. You can feel the nighttime late night club music as you listen to this EP and examine the album cover. The placement of tree is appropriate for the front cover. The Cowardly Leon is on the left with a guitar. Share this with your friends also!

In fact, The Cowardly Leon is similar to Voxtrot on an artistic scale. The front cover of Pocketwatch EP will remind you of Voxtrot - Your Biggest Fan EP. You can feel that Voxtrot vibe. The artwork has that Voxtrot vibe. The aspect of the musical content and production qualities are quite different especially the artistic design.

Les Brown And His Orchestra - Blue Danube single review

Looking for some sophisticated swing to dance the Foxtrot to? Well Blue Danube is the Foxtrot for you. Blue Danube had idolized the swing era's most popular dance at the time called the Foxtrot. The dance called the Foxtrot was something that ladies and gentlemen would swing dance to during the swing era. The Blue Danube was well known underground and on national radio stations across the United States. The Blue Danube is also dedicated to swing music.

Sophisticated Swing is a dance track dedicated to swing music. Sophisticated Swing is quite sophisticated. Sophisticated Swing is dedicated the sophisticated upper class swing dancers. Blue Danube and Sophisticated Swing are very similar to George Olsen - Sax-o-phun Foxtrot.

Particularly, the Les Brown And His Orchestra - Blue Danube foxtrot swing was released in 1947.
