Gina Green (Gina Brown) - In His Time album review

In His Time was a religious gospel put together by Gina Green and Knolly Williams of Grapetree Records. The album was released on Grapetree Records/Ritestep Records back in the 1990s. Grapetree Records contributed to the production of In His Time. Half of the album is filled with religious songs and love songs. Come To Jesus has an upbeat percussion selection. Gina convinces her audience to come to Jesus. Jesus is missing in your life. Seek His Face is the standout track that will have you sold! Her smooth mellow R&B chords are superb here. Gina makes up her mind on Choose Life as she chooses life instead of love. Forgive is a praise of forgiveness.

She was offered a one album contract with Grapetree Records in 1996 when she had recorded the album In His Time. Her debut album sold over 25,000 copies. Gina toured throughout the United States and Europe to promote her album. In His Time is an album that was often discussed at church gatherings and various youth events at the time. New Bohemians - It's Like This album review

Edie Brickell & New Bohemians 1986 album called It's Like This was a demo cassette. Only 500 copies of this demo exist on cassette only. This item is a collectors item among New Bohemians fans. This New Bohemians demo would eventually lead to their Geffen Records debut album Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars to be released in 1988. Only a selection of few songs from this cassette were included on their 1988 debut. Despite the differences in musical arrangements on some the songs such as Nothing, She, and Air in December, most of those songs sound the same.

There many differences between It's Like This and Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars albums. For example, songs from It's Like This such as Whatever You Do, Get Up, Lemonska, and Cleopatra do not appear on their 1988 debut album Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars. Their 1988 debut did not include the songs mentioned.

Whatever You Do is a percussion ridden song with a barrage of guitars or rather an ensemble of guitars. The percussion fits in well with the groove of this song. Whatever You Do is a perfect song during travel on the road. The song clearly must have been recorded live because the reverb gives away a live essence to their performance.

Lemonska is a fusion of reggae and jazz. Reggae music counterpart ska is used for the most part. A fusion of ska is added into the mix. Lemonska is a sultry, sweet love song though not too sour. Mr. Lemon is who the song is focused on. He is so sour. He is so sour to his lover.

Musical arrangements for Air in December is slightly different from their 1988 version. There is more echo giving away the essence of ambience for which you would hear on a demo song such as this one. The acoustics filter out the reverb. Treble is slightly reduced by 20%. People change just like the weather. That will affect you.

The song She is about a homegirl who is always going to be around. She is the type of person who is always going to hang around with your friends. She just stays there without hesitation.

Get Up deals with isolation. Some of the lyrics describe isolation perfectly. For instance take the beginning lyrics. Or certain verses. Such lyrics set off a cold chilling  vibe towards a negative mood. It's the coldness of the lyrics that give Get Up a negative vibe.

Take these lyrics for example:
I'm shivering and pale
They've stopped delivering my mail
I feel like I'm in jail
It's cold on the floor

Porn Flakes - Moo Jack City album review

Raised Right covers the controversial subject of police brutality. It's a case of bad cop, bad cop. Porn Flakes takes an anti-police brutality stance on Raised Right. Police brutality already fucked up heads. Branemhax is an anti-religion song. Religion clogs up minds and brainwashes people. Brainwashing is what religion does to people. Brainwashed people are already fucked up. Dave!? is Porn Flakes first combined effort in writing an autobiography in rock music formation. The song is an autobiography of Porn Flakes.

Nuwine - Mission Possible album review

Nuwine turned Mission Impossible into Mission Possible for this album. Nuwine's mission for this album was to introduce the Son of God to the whole world including his audience. Yes. Houston, Texas religious mogul Nuwine is on another Ghetto Mission to save the world from unholiness. Mission Possible from 2002 is yet another album from Nuwine that got overlooked and did not receive any attention from news media. Most Nuwine albums such as this one and 1998 tend to get overlooked and overshadowed on a nationwide

Nuwine shows devine gratefulness to the Lord on What The Lord Has Done For Me. The Lord has done a lot for Nuwine. For him to be still alive is a blessing. Nuwine puts focus on God as well. Nuwine is very grateful and blessed in what the Lord has done for him. He is truly blessed.

Nuwine gets into deep religious thought on Think About It. He suggests that his listeners think about religion. A sultry tune is what one can use to describe Think About It. Think About It serves as an intellectual track that dives into intensive deep thought from a faith based perspective. Nuwine attempts to educate his audience with the Think About It track.

Nuwine turned Mission Impossible into Mission Possible for the song Mission Possible. Nuwine reminds us that anything about is possible. Even through the eyes of God anything is possible. His mission is to introduce the Son of God to the whole world. Things don't get too raucous however.

Mahdi Mobb - Ona Humble single review

This particular single is an example of DMV rap from the DMV area in the United States. Now the DMV is a collection of the combined area of Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. US States included in this area are Maryland and Virginia. The single is a mixture of hip hop, East Coast rap, gangsta rap, and electronic music. Electronic music is the prevalent element in this single.

Electronic music meets hip hop and East Coast rap on the track Ona Humble. That is why you hear an electronic music meets rap vibe. A heavy phat bass line is used throughout the duration of this track. Afrocentric percussion is used as well. Treble reduction in percussion is present. Ona Humble tackles the issues of black on black crime in America. Black people kill each other every day out of the week over some nonsense. Mahdi Mobb uses intellect with a mixture of hip hop and gangsta rap to describe the violence blacks face on a daily basis.

I Luv Dat Shit is a heavy percussion ridden track with use of drums from a drum kit. The production is quite polished and so is the sound. Hip hop meets rap on I Luv Dat Shit. A touch of gangsta rap is added into the mix as well.

Neo-soul meets gospel with a vibrant uplifting spirit on this Gina Green album. Both worship and praise persevere on this album. Worship is what Gina Green excels at.

New Bohemians - Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars album review

Air in December is about how people change just like the weather. That will affect you. There is a reverb in the acoustics. More than likely the acoustics have a filter which was used inside of this song. The acoustics filter out the reverb however. An echo gives away the essence of ambience. The acoustics used on this song are completely perfectly for this type of song.

The song She is about a homegirl who is always going to be around. She is the type of person who is always going to hang around with your friends. She just stays there without hesitation. The acoustics used on this song are completely perfectly for this type of song.

Circle is a song that hits right in the feels. Sadness and sorrow describe this song perfectly. Circle is about how your circle of friends shines every year. You loose friends. The Circle song is a song that is still relevant to this day.

Their Geffen Records debut album Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars was released in 1988. This item is a collectors item among New Bohemians fans.

Lil Breazy - When It Rains It Pours album review

This album was released on Iced Down Records and Isolated Records, and Select-O-Hits in 2000. When It Rains It Pours was Lil Breazy’s debut album. Check Yourself and Everybody's Ballin' are the singles. This album is extremely rare and is considered a collector’s item in Texas Rap and Austin Rap. The When It Rains It Pours album is so rare you won’t even find it online these days.

Stay True is about staying true to yourself. By staying true to yourself you are sticking to your hustle. On this track, Lil Breazy stays true to himself. As stated earlier before by himself, Lil Breazy only represents the real.

Shake Or Be Shook features AL-G and Ajax of Sam Huston Boyz. TJ Music produced most of the track. TJ is known for his sound.

Let Me Look At You is fast uptempo soul rap song featuring Big Grind and Ajax of Sam Huston Boyz (Sam Houston Boyz). Staying paid is the only thing on Lil Breazy’s agenda. He’s click-clackin’ and stackin’ up money into his account. Lil Breazy only represents the real. On this track, Lil Breazy separates the real from the fake.

Everybody's Ballin' is the hit single for this album! This is one of those party on the boat dock at the top of the boat jams. This jam will make you want to get up and dance! This is the bomb!! A rockin’ Stapleton Sisters sample is used. This song had house parties in Austin rockin' out back in 2002! Everybody's Ballin' had everyone partyin’ back in 2002. If you were educated and informed about the social scene and party scene here in Austin, Texas, you’d know about this song.

Mash 4 Skrilla is a very Lone Star Texan song. The country guitar on the high note gives out that Texas Country feel. Lil Breezy tells us on the brooding chorus lines that he’s not going to die being broke. Rap game or dope game he’s in it to win it. Lil Breazy’s a certified track killa. He kills on every track of his sophomore album. Mash 4 Skrilla is a country rap song.

Time 2 Shine showcases both Lil Breazy and ICE's lyrical talent. You will love the vocoder used on Time 2 Shine. This song was so cold to the point whee both artists had the game on freeze. ICE was on ATV Recordz and Isolated Records.

Whoever told you G-Funk and Gangsta Rap was dead, they're wrong! It just moved to the South. Listen to You Know How We Do It featuring Big Pokey from Wreckshop Records outta Houston, Texas! This is like a From Austin to Houston collaboration. It has that old 90s G-Funk sound.

Ain’t shit changed on Holdin’ Grain. Southside still holding grain as Big Moe, ESG, and Lil Breazy put it. ESG comes off real with his realist rhymin’. Big Moe does his soulful singing and chorus lines on the hooks as he usually did. Big Moe speaks upon how to hold grain and game while ESG speaks upon how to hold game. Holdin’ Grain is mostly about how shit hasn’t changed in the South. Everything’s still the same. ESG and Big Moe are a great combination.

You should buy this album if you already haven't! It's that good! This album is off the hook! It's too bad that Lil Breazy's career never took off. Austin Hip Hop/Rap always has gotten overlooked and still always gets overlooked by the general public and mainstream media.

*[Lil Breazy is from Austin, Texas.]
*[When It Rains It Pours is the first album to ever be released by Lil Breazy.]
*[ICE was on ATV Recordz, Isolated Records, Madd Creole Entertainment, and Iced Down Records. She was from Austin, Texas.]

Lil Goldwell - Melody Fair album review

A comfortable Western-style album cover helps the album give off that adult contemporary feel. In other words, Melody Fair is an adult contemporary music album similar to soft rock from the 1960s and 1970s. Soft rock meets J-Pop on this album. Melody Fair is one of those albums that will carefully help adults hold onto memories of their youth. The Melody Fair album is a Western-style cover album as well. The music is beautifully produced with the backtrack and backing of multiple choruses. Melody Fair is one of those albums that is cherished by everyone. Lil Goldwell released this album on Victor Entertainment in 2006.

Lil Goldwell is a pop duo from Fukugawa, Japan that specializes in J-Pop. Lil Goldwell is a pop duo consisted of members Akira and KG. Akira is in charge of the vocals while KG is in charge of compositions, musical arrangements, songwriting, and vocals.

Melody Fair is a love song that is a small love melody. KG is in charge of the musical arrangements and songwriting for this composition. Melody Fair has a soft opening with an angelic presence.

Groovin’ is a peppy song with an upbeat melody. The piano accompanies the upbeat melody. Production is smooth and angelic. Here we find the Lil Goldwell band groovin’ on a Sunday afternoon. What could be better than that?

Glory of Love is obviously another love song by Lil Goldwell. The song Glory of Love teaches us not be afraid of our heart.

If I Fell is a Queen-esque love song sung in a similar style of Queen with backing of multiple choruses. If I Fell is something quite similar you would hear from Queen or expect from them.

Detroit Rock City is an adult contemporary cover of KISS - Detroit Rock City. The percussion is accompanied by a soft grand piano which follow the slow melody of this KISS cover song. A mixture of electronic music is added into production along with a doo-wop chorus. Melody of Detroit Rock City is soft and slow.

Ziggy Marley - One Bright Day album review

One Bright Day is where one bright day the people got together to celebrate love around the nations of Earth. There was singing and dancing. People were living life without fear. There was music and people loved it. One Bright Day is a reggae song about celebrating world peace through music and dance. Ziggy Marley wrote this song in 1989 during the time of apartheid in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). A call for world peace was much needed at the time. That's why this song was written.

Black My Story is about Black/African history representing African liberty and African glory. Who Will Be There is a religious reggae song about the Rastafari God Jah. Look Who's Dancing is a song about dance. Dance is an important part of reggae culture.

Ziggy demands justice on the song Justice. To him, Justice is a one word prayer. Justice sometimes let the innocent die unfortunately. Justice is needed for those who deserve it. We demand change for our justice system and justice itself. Much justice is dealt with by diplomats. Such justice cannot be given by aristocrats in aristocracy as they are hypocrites.

Tobin Sprout - The Universe And Me album review

Tobin Sprout is back with a brand new spanking album for the year 2017! This is his first album in 7 years as a solo artist and songwriter. Tobin Sprout himself shines brightly as a songwriter for this solo album of his. What stands out for this album is the songwriting. Tobin Sprout has improved in his skill of songwriting. His songwriting skills have improved. Especially on this album! The Universe And Me is spontaneous with such bravado inside the lyrics and songwriting.

Honor Guards has a bluesy guitar feel. The distorted notes from the electric guitar used on Honor Guards gives a bluesy feel. Tobin Sprout could have possibly been inspired by Blues music while composing Honor Guards. Honor Guards is a short lively 2 minute long instrumental performed by Tobin Sprout himself. The beginning of Honor Guards will have you think the song is an instrumental. However that is not the case. Overall, Honor Guards has an organic feel.

Manifest Street is a calm organic guitar solo performed by Tobin Sprout himself. Manifest Street is stylish of the lo-fi rock sound. Not too many noise elements are prevalent in Manifest Street as the song itself is a lo-fi rock song. Manifest Street has an organic feel.

Heavenly Bones seems to have a warm extroverted feel. The style seems to be upbeat. Heavenly Bones has a timid easy listening feel. Think easy listening when you listen to Heavenly Bones.
