Tobin Sprout - The Universe And Me album review

Tobin Sprout is back with a brand new spanking album for the year 2017! This is his first album in 7 years as a solo artist and songwriter. Tobin Sprout himself shines brightly as a songwriter for this solo album of his. What stands out for this album is the songwriting. Tobin Sprout has improved in his skill of songwriting. His songwriting skills have improved. Especially on this album! The Universe And Me is spontaneous with such bravado inside the lyrics and songwriting.

Honor Guards has a bluesy guitar feel. The distorted notes from the electric guitar used on Honor Guards gives a bluesy feel. Tobin Sprout could have possibly been inspired by Blues music while composing Honor Guards. Honor Guards is a short lively 2 minute long instrumental performed by Tobin Sprout himself. The beginning of Honor Guards will have you think the song is an instrumental. However that is not the case. Overall, Honor Guards has an organic feel.

Manifest Street is a calm organic guitar solo performed by Tobin Sprout himself. Manifest Street is stylish of the lo-fi rock sound. Not too many noise elements are prevalent in Manifest Street as the song itself is a lo-fi rock song. Manifest Street has an organic feel.

Heavenly Bones seems to have a warm extroverted feel. The style seems to be upbeat. Heavenly Bones has a timid easy listening feel. Think easy listening when you listen to Heavenly Bones.

Simken Heights - Jack Or Die album review

Simken Heights releases out yet another overlooked spooky horrorcore rap album out from the belly of Lansing, Michigan. However there is something significantly different about this Simken Heights album. There is not an overabundance of guest stars features or them appearing on this Simken Heights album particularly. However there is an overabundance of Detroit/Chicago rapper Cap One as he is all over the album. Cap One is all over this Simken Heights album oddly. Nevertheless, Simken Heights never fails to disappoint with the underground sound of horrorcore rap.

Jekyll Hyde & The Darkside - Born Dead album review

Mix the grimey sounds of acid rap and electronic music and you have the result of The Darkside - Born Dead album from Grand Rapids, Michigan. The sounds off this album give off a dark mood and dark vibe. (A dark negative vibe to be exact.) The sounds off this album can be described as eerie. Take the raw sound from the streets and put it within the mixture of eerie sounds. The production sounds very outdated as the sound is very lo-fi meaning that the production sound has a low tech sound. But because the album was released on cassette in 1994, that is no surprise. Fans of rap music who enjoy the raw sound of Grand Rapids rap will enjoy this album. Horrorcore rap meets gangsta rap on the Born Dead album.

The title track Born Dead has some gruesome eerie sounds that you would hear on a NATAS album or EP. Born Dead seems to have some Esham, Project Born, and NATAS influences with both acid rap, gangsta rap, and horrorcore rap all incorporated into one sound. Gangsta rap meets horrorcore rap on Born Dead. The production sounds very outdated as the sound is very lo-fi meaning that the production sound has a low tech sound. But because the album was released on cassette in 1994, that is no surprise. The heavy bass makes up for the low tech production of course. The mood is very negative. Overall the track Born Dead has some gruesome sounds.

Street Demon is no street sermon as the sounds are rather gruesome. The production sounds very outdated as most of the sound already is. The mood is very negative. You can feel a negative vibe on Street Demon. It’s some hard shit.

Skeletons has the darks sounds you would expect to hear from grimey underground New York hip hop particularly grimey underground New York City hip hop from the 90s. The bass line has quite a jazzy feel. (Not too raspy though.) Overall Skeletons is ridden with medium bass.

U2 - Boy album review

To most U2 fans, Boy was a 4/5**** star album despite going onto sell millions of copies across the globe on an international level. As with most U2 albums, the mood is mellow and the sound is smooth. Not to mention the vibe is smooth. This U2 album has an acoustic rhythmic feel inside the guitars used. The guitars used on this U2 album give the album a pop feel and pop flair.

The Ocean has a theme of loneliness and isolation. Loneliness is the theme for The Ocean song. The Ocean is similar to a grey opaque painting rather than an abstract painting. Things get philosophical on The Ocean as the name Dorian Grey is a reference to the philosophical novel by Oscar Wilde called The Picture of Dorian Gray written in 1890.

Twilight visits the subject of age progression. The song Twilight uses the term “twilight” as a symbolism of moving forward toward our future. U2 focuses on both age progression and moving forward towards the future on Twilight.

Nicole Wray - I Found You EP review

I Found You is about how Nicole Wray found a boyfriend that suddenly came into her life with a glance. He asked Nicole about her life and if she had any plans. He took her heart away. He took her away from the stupid little things. She tells the world she's not alone and not afraid to ride. And her boyfriend will kick your ass if you make her cry. This is one of those coffee shop songs and frozen yogurt place songs. It's real upbeat. However the sounds are unbalanced meaning that the guitars are playing out of the left speaker and drums out of the right speaker. But it's still a great song!

Boomerang Theory is one of those upbeat songs with a mellow vibe and positive feel you will hear in those coffee shop songs and frozen yogurt place songs. It's a longer song than I Found You being that Boomerang Effect about 5 minutes long. You will too really love this song guaranteed! Both songs are great!! Boomerang Effect was produced by 7 Aurelius in 2006. (Boomerang Effect is also known as Boomerang Theory.)

Nicole Wray - Dream Factory Sessions album review

Lovechild album that was supposed to be released on Roc-A-Fella Records, Def Jam, and Damon Dash Music Group (DDMG and DD172) back in 2005. (Nicole Wray was also signed to 7 Aurelius label called Dream Factory at the time too.) Most of the songs were recorded between the years of 2003 to 2006. However most of that material was produced and recorded in 2004. 7 Aurelius produced all 11 songs on this Nicole Wray album. All these songs were produced in high quality. Nicole Wray served as executive producer.

7 allowed Nicole Wray to be free and to work alongside him by producing and writing. Which can be attributed to why Dream Factory Sessions was considered outside of her natural raw singing talent. She was allowed to be creative. The Dream Factory Sessions were the most amazingly creative time of her life.

Most of these songs remained unreleased until 2011 when 7 Aurelius released the Dream Factory Sessions album as a digital download on iTunes and Juno Download in the United Kingdom on the date of 11/11/2011. (Dream Factory Sessions has been pulled from iTunes since then.) 7 Aurelius intended for Dream Factory Sessions to be a digital album which is why Dream Factory Sessions is only available on the internet as a digital download instead of a physical format.

Both Nicole Wray and 7 Aurelius worked hard to get this album to be released out to the public. The reason why it took so long for the Dream Factory Sessions album to be released is because 7 Aurelius had to buy the music rights, publishing rights, and streaming rights from Roc-A-Fella Records, Def Jam, and Damon Dash Music Group in order for this Nicole Wray album to be released. That is the reason why Dream Factory Sessions was released in 2011.

Despite that, Nicole Wray had very little and/or no control over the release Dream Factory Sessions. 7 Aurelius was responsible for the release. He referred to Dream Factory Sessions as a lost album. Despite track longevity with 11 songs, Dream Factory Sessions is/was referred to as a mixtape by Nicole Wray fans.

Dream Factory is a song Nicole Wray recorded back in 2005 for her Lovechild album that was supposed to be released on Roc-A-Fella Records. Of course the famous producer 7 Aurelius produced Dream Factory for her. He was responsible for producing those hot beats you hear. Dream Factory is also known as Lollipop to longtime Nicole Wray fans. Dream Factory is also the song that appeared in the State Property 2 soundtrack & film in 2005. Roc-A-Fella Films included Lollipop in the State Property 2 film.

Dream Factory had everyone going crazy in the dance clubs back in the mid 2000s. The beats were absolutely nuts. Nicole Wray had an underground buzz with this song despite it not being chosen as a buzz single. The New York City club scene is where Dream Factory first gained an underground.

Masquerade is a remix version of Sarah from Nicole Wray’s Independence Day mixtape from 2007 on FOE from Atlanta, Georgia. Masquerade is an updated version of Sarah as Masquerade revisits Sarah from Nicole Wray’s Independence Day with rearrangements in sound and change in production by none other than 7 Aurelius. The production is ill as 7 Aurelius is an ill producer. Nicole Wray based this song off her own life experiences after her faltering career with Missy Elliott on Goldmind Inc. from 1996 to 2001. Her experiences in this song are based off her post Missy Elliott years before signing to Roc-A-Fella.

Nicole Wray knew this girl from around the way back in her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia. She was a girl from around the way who Nicole Wray used to kick it with everyday. Apparently she lived on the corner. Every night she is awakened by a gunshot. Nicole Wray now makes hints indicating this girl was being abused. Her mother was nowhere to be found in her life. She was deep in the streets on her own.

Well this girl is making money in the nightlife while living the fast life. She is living both a fast life and nightlife on a double-edged sword by living on the edge. She don’t know any better in what to believe in. She is loving all the wrong people for the wrong reasons. The girl in the song is Nicole Wray.

Misery loves company on the song Miserable People. The mellow and vibe are smooth, timid, and slow. Miserable People is from her 2010 albums Boss Bitch and Boss Chick. The beautiful mellow piano solo at the beginning of Miserable People helps give off a mellow vibe that is not too ecstatic. Miserable People has a loud and powerful essence in the sound.

Nicole Wray laces the track with her soulful singing about how misery loves company. Nicole Wray states there is so many things to love about life. In reality, there is so many things to love about living life. Life has its ups and downs. So why hate? Nicole Wray does not want miserable people in her life. She won’t let it get the best of her.

Almost Famous was produced by 7 Aurelius. Almost Famous is accompanied by a barrage of live instruments including a small violin ensemble the beginning. The beats are absolutely amazing! Live instrumentation is perfect for a song like this song. Almost Famous is a throwback song down memory lane which is where Nicole Wray takes us on this song.

Just today Nicole Wray saw her ex-boyfriend’s smile. She has not seen him in a while. He made her feel so good and all the other girls knew it. She wonders if his kisses are still the same. She wondered if they had another chance. Nicole would love to call him her man (my man). How he kissed the girls, broke their hearts, and gave them material things. She is loving him all over again.

She remembers when they used to go for rides. He would let the top down letting wind blow. Sippin’ on hennessey. They always looked good together. It’s not the same because Nicole is all caught up in the games her ex played.

This Kiss is a futuristic love song produced by 7 Aurelius and written by Nicole Wray. Of course This Kiss is a love song. Beats were created by 7 Aurelius.

Boomerang Theory is one of those upbeat songs with a mellow vibe and positive feel you will hear in those coffee shop songs and frozen yogurt place songs. Boomerang Theory is also known as Boomerang Effect to you Nicole Wray fans out there. Boomerang Theory was produced in 2006 by 7 Aurelius her Lovechild album and her 2011 single I Found You on DDMG.

Drumz is a love song with very loud beats from 7 Aurelius. Drumz sounds like it was recorded in 2010 even the production sounds a bit distorted. It's another great song! Drumz is from her 2010 albums Boss Bitch and Boss Chick. Drumz has 122 BPM which is the most BPM on this album.

The only downsides are that some of these songs are from Nicole Wray’s previous albums such as Boss Chick, Boss Bitch, and I Found You. Take the songs Boomerang Theory, Drumz, and Miserable People. Nonetheless, Dream Factory Sessions is still a great Nicole Wray album for both old and new fans. All these songs were high quality! Boomerang, Lost, Masquerade, and Drumz are dope as hell! Dream Factory Sessions is one of those albums that got overlooked by the masses and general public. Those who have been following Nicole Wray over the years can see her growth as an artist.

*[Damon Dash Music Group is known as DDMG and DD172.]
*[Dream Factory Sessions has been pulled from iTunes since 2012. The reason why was due to a lack of downloads and demand.]
*[The song Dream Factory also went under the name Lollipop.]
*[Nicole Wray was also signed to 7 Aurelius label called Dream Factory too.]
*[When Dream Factory Sessions was first released, Nicole Wray fans referred to Dream Factory Sessions as a mixtape.]
*[Most of that material from Dream Factory Sessions was produced and recorded in 2004.]

A. Pique - Cornette single review

Cornette is a Chanson Pop music single from 1898 released on 78 by Pathé from France. Think of the old timey pop sound from yesteryear as the Cornette single is from the 19th century. Henri Weber is responsible for the lead vocals on this single. Cornette is a 2 step polka song. Le Clairon is a short 2 minute song on the A Side.

Blackmore’s Night - Come With Me To The Renaissance Fair single review

One would expect this single to contain heavy metal music dark opaque black front cover. However that is not the case. Come With Me To The Renaissance Fair is a folk music single. Metal heads out there will be disappointed. If you are searching for metal or rock music, you will solely be disappointed. You can feel a Fleetwood Mac vibe as you listen to this single. The fade out version for Crowning of The King is included on this single. Come With Me To The Renaissance Fair has a Middle Age feel to it.
