Twice The Power - Steppin' Over The Edge album review

Steppin' Over The Edge is this group's debut album released on Wicked Bass Records and SFM Records in 1995 on CD. Steppin' Over The Edge is actually a compilation album of their most well known songs that were underground singles which received radio play on local radio stations at one point in time. The songs on the album are well known to hardcore longtime San Antonio rap fans. Latin rap meets Miami bass with a hint of Latin music on this album which is why you can hear the usage of heavy bass all over the album. Bass is prevalent all over the album. This album includes their radio singles Meow Meow, Don't You Know I'm Loco, Wicked Bass, and Power To The People. Most of the radio singles are remixes of the originals. (Some are better. I agree.)

The Twice The Power group is a Latin rap group from the 90s which was based outta San Antonio, Texas. They were active from 1992 to 2002. Their peak years in their prime were from 1993 to 1996. 1993 was a good year for the group. So was 1994. Twice The Power consisted of 3 amigos. They were IROK, Wicked G, and the underground legendary DJ called DJ Devastator.


Don't You Know I'm Loco is a song that took over SA Town radio stations by storm overnight! Radio stations in San Antonio were playing this song nonstop back in the 90s. The song became an instant favorite among San Antonio rap fans, Spanish music fans, bass heads, and Latin music fans after being played on the airwaves on radio. Longtime San Antonio rap fans definitely remember this song when it was out. This song came out in 1993 and also the version of this song on this album is a 1995 remix by DJ Devastator. Wicked G did some production for the song as well the DJ.

Funk meets Latin rap and bass music on Don't You Know I'm Loco. The track itself is bass influenced. The track heavily relies on bass to make a long-lasting heavy impact to your ears. The James Brown - Big Payback funk sample can be heard at near the very beginning. The group was also influenced by funk music when recording this song. This track itself has prevalent Latin music and Latin rap influences incorporated inside here.

Don't You Know I'm Loco is a Twice The Power posse cut telling us about how we don't know how crazy these amigos are. Don't You Know I'm Loco is another way of saying "Don't you know I'm crazy?" Vatos, chicas, and eses from the barrios of the SA streets responded incredibly well to this song.


Wicked Bass is a heavy bass influenced song which itself heavily relies on bass for substance backup. Bass over Latin rap music in a funky mentality is one way to best describe Wicked Bass. The song Wicked Bass has a heavy influence of doodooism. Doodooism is heavy bass and heavy percussion with usage of reduced treble. The term was first coined by hip hop/rap duo Spooky G & Blackjack in 1994.

Wicked Bass had earned them an instant fan following after being played on local radio stations in 1994.The Wicked Bass song became an instant favorite among San Antonio rap fans, Spanish music fans, bass heads, and Latin music fans after being played on the airwaves on radio. Longtime San Antonio rap fans definitely remember this song when it was out.

Wicked G arranged and produced most of the production alongside with DJ Devastator. Despite DJ Devastator doing most of the production work, Wicked G takes most of the credit here. Nevertheless DJ Devastator rightfully earned his place in the spotlight.


Meow Meow is one of their most well known songs to date. Meow Meow is a heavy bass influenced song with a hint of Latin music that earned them an instant fan following after being played on local radio stations in 1993. Sex rap meets Miami bass with a hint of Latin music on Meow Meow. Meow Meow seems to be heavy influenced and inspired by Miami bass music from Miami, Florida. For the most part, the song heavily relies on bass over fast paced beats to back it up. Bass makes songs such as this one more memorable.

Meow Meow is a posse cut about how these 3 amigos get pussy every fucking day. They experiment with sex rap by making various references to sexuality. For instance oral sex and vaginal sex. (They say there is no need to get crazy however this is not the case.) Take swinging for example. Meow Meow is similar to Find'em, Fuck'em, & Flee by NWA. It's sex, sex, sex here everyday.


Steppin' Over The Edge is about how these 3 loco amigos are stepping over the edge to gain popularity by all means and any means necessary. IROK, Wicked G, and DJ Devastator are not taking "no" for an answer.  They certainly take the cake here on this song! They stood strong as a posse.

Steppin' Over The Edge is another Twice The Power posse cut that got radio play across SA back in the day. Not only did this not earn them an instant fan following after being played on local radio stations, it became the title for their debut album and a title track. (Radio stations in SA played this song nonstop back then too.) The song became an instant favorite among San Antonio rap fans and Latin music fans after being played on the airwaves on radio. Sopa Para la Mente is the Spanish cut for this album. The song is obviously influenced by Spanish music, Spanish rap, and Latin music. Fans of Latin rap, Latin music, Spanish rap, and Spanish music will love this Twice The Power song. IROK and Wicked G wrote Sopa Para la Mente in 1994. IROK did most of the production work however. Sopa Para la Mente means Soup For The Mind.

We Come As We Are was Twice The Power's answer and response to Nemesis - Greet Them With Peace. The track itself offers itself as a peace offering. The peace offering comes as an opening to end all violence worldwide. We Come As We Are is something you would expect from Boogie Down Productions, Kid Frost, Public Enemy, DJ Snake, or Nemesis. This version of We Come As We Are is a 1994 remix from DJ Devastator.

Power To The People is a political rap posse cut raising political awareness to their audience. IROK and Wicked G wrote Power To The People in 1994. No DJ Devastator did not produce this song. IROK and Wicked produced this song. Power To The People is something you would expect to hear from Public Enemy, Boogie Down Productions, or Nas.


When it comes to the history of San Antonio hip hop and San Antonio rap, Twice The Power is a group that hardly gets any mention. The group had a solid fan base and rocked up the hype crowd in their audiences during their concerts across San Antonio, Texas. The socialites and party goers of San Antonio loved the group whenever they perform live. Essentially, the group has more or less faded away with time thus fading away into obscurity. Twice The Power, Brown Tribe, Too Hard Too Hype, Illegal Amigos, Tribe 46, and New Def'Nition were the first wave of Latin rap in San Antonio, Texas. This album is no exception. However despite them earning a steady crowd following among fans, the group more or less was forgotten over time and so were their albums including this one.

Gorillaz - Humanz album review

After a 6 to 7 year long hiatus, the virtual band Gorillaz is back with a new funky quirky futuristic sounding album ahead of the times. However the Gorillaz band seems to have strayed away from their original rock roots and electronic rock by having dabbled into experimenting with electronic music altogether. This Gorillaz album has more of an electronic music sound than any of their other albums as it seems the band has strayed away from their rock roots. The album suits the digital era in a witty way. The album does have its unusual wild odd moments. But nevertheless, this Gorillaz album undoubtedly is going to become a bestseller online and offline.

Those who are longtime hardcore Gorillaz fans are going to be disappointed with thee band as they strayed far away from their rock roots. Most of the songs on this Gorillaz album is inaudible. Their vocabulary is rather lagging. For some reason the band has chosen usage of small simple words. Several songs here turns into directionless muttering inaudible to the ears. For example the Saturn Barz song. Sleeping Power, We Got The Power, and Andromeda are the only good songs of this album.

To sum it all up, the Gorillaz are not the same band they once were from decades ago. Their ideas and album concepts have changed over the years.


Saturn Barz has an industrial techno sound. Lyrics in this Gorillaz song are inaudible. The only understandable verse is "all my life". Their vocabulary used here is terrible. In all honesty, the auto tune is way too much. It seems that this albums budget had gone to the Saturn Barz music video and song. Gorillaz and their record company promoted Saturn Barz more so than any other song off the Humanz album.

Sleeping Powder is Rehash revisited as Sleeping Powder has the same hazy offbeat humor as Rehash from their debut album. Sleeping Powder is 2D's solo song. The electric harpsichord at the beginning fits in perfectly smooth with this song. Acoustic arrangements are perfect. An electric swing is added to the mix. Overall Sleeping Powder is a good song. 

Andromeda seems to have incorporated the sound of dance music. The dance song is rather upbeat. The song itself seems to be a Gorillaz posse cut for this album. Nevertheless Andromeda has a positive vibe to it. We Got The Power is an upbeat song that seems to be revisiting 19/2000 from their debut album. Carnival is an Anthony Hamilton inspired track. His work and sound are all over it.

Metallica - St. Anger album review

This Metallica album was released in 2003, 2 years after the Napster controversy in 2001 with the illegal digital downloads that nearly wiped the Napster p2p file sharing internet service off the face of the Earth only to mysteriously resurface later on in the 2000s era. Ever since the Napster incident, Metallica's album sales have been declining them. The Napster controversy took a toll on the band financially. This is where Lars Ulrich started becoming an asshole to his fans. He had every right to be after they damaged his band financially speaking but he went over his head as time went along. Band members quit Metallica because of his attitude towards the public.

By that time Metallica had ran its course as a band despite the demands from fans to record new albums including those live albums along with the rave reviews that supported them. Metallica as a band was getting sloppy and their sound wasn't as distinctive or golden as it used to be despite the St. Anger album selling millions of copies around the world with an average of 1 million units sold in each continent on Earth. Just because you have a bestselling top charting album doesn't mean that the album will be necessarily great. St. Anger was an example of that.

Metallica had ran its course as a heavy metal band. The public was moving on as expected in the ever rapid fast paced music industry. New fans were too demanding and hardcore fans had given up on the band. The music industry was looking for the next big thing. Let’s face it. Metallica was anything but the next big thing. Metallica wasn’t the next big thing. They’ve been in the music business since the 1980s.

New heavy metal fans considered this a great comeback album while hardcore Metallica fans considered this album to be a terrible attempt of a comeback album. Hardcore Metallica fans argued that Metallica was loosing their sound and were no longer relevant. This dissuaded hardcore Metallica fans to no longer support the Metallica band.

OG Maco - Breathe EP EP review

OG Maco makes a lot of political statements on this EP. OG Maco teaches us and tells us that black lives do matter. Yes OG Maco does deliver powerful political messages in his raps. Lives do matter when they are taken away by the hands of the law enforcement. We need to stand up and fight the stance against police brutality when someone gets killed over police brutality. It's time for those law enforcement officials to be held responsible and accountable for their actions. Not get a "paid vacation"! OG Maco shows his political side on this particular EP. OG Maco - Breathe EP was released online as a digital download in 2014.

Funk meets rap on Rollin Wit Tha Funk. That is why you can hear that raw uncut Dago Funk in this single. San Diego, California producer Frank Z was responsible for the raw Dago Funk you hear on this single. Mistery co produced this single as well. Mistery and Frank Z produced a huge majority of this single for the record. George Clinton and Zapp samples can be heard throughout the single. Executive producers for this single were Cisum Records A & R Al Thornton, Howard Lynch, Aaron Clark, and John Ferguson. DJ GLE mixed the single.


Funk meets rap on Rollin Wit Tha Funk. That is why you can hear that raw uncut Dago Funk in the track as Rollin Wit Tha Funk samples George Clinton - Atomic Dog and Zapp - More Bounce To The Ounce. By incorporating these songs into this track, they procreated a funk rap melody. Of course anyone can sample More Bounce To The Ounce by Zapp and Atomic Dog by George Clinton. A vocoder is used on Rollin Wit Tha Funk.

A music video for Rollin Wit Tha Funk was aired on Rap City and BET Television back in 1993. Radio station Z90 played this all day back in the day.

Frank Z brings out the funk at the very beginning of Rollin Wit Tha Funk. It’s a trunk jam. Mistery is driving all the fly girls nuts. Mistery is nothing but a player. He’s hanging out with the homies so he is protected by carrying a strap (gun weapon). Mistery explains he’s unreadable and harder to kill than Steven Segal.

Freaks want to sit in his lap as he writes/composes raps. When Mistery lets off a round of bullets, no one runs up on him. He stays true to the homies. Mistery came with an OG flow for 1993. He dedicated to the streets with a funky sound. He claims Rollin Wit Tha Funk is a perfect jam to play in the park.

9MM takes shots the underground. It’s a gangsta rap freestyle at that. When Mistery lets off a round of bullets, no one runs up on him. He was a young nigga fucked up from the bud and from the gin. He stays protected by carrying a strap (gun weapon).

An auto theft is committed here. Mistery sees someone get out of their vehicle. So now he is creeping on a come up. He is strapped with a 9MM. Without a gun, you’ll get baffled every time. Get yourself a glock and you’ll be fine. That is what Mistery wants you to do. Mistery breaks them off something funky. Especially with a couple of shots from a 9MM handgun! If anyone runs up he’ll put a round of bullets in them.

On verse 3 Mistery talks about a couple of motherfuckers from his city. When he is around they are on his dick trying to fake it, but behind his back they talk negative about him. Mistery ain’t going out a like a punk. At all! They’ve been all on his dick since Rollin Wit Tha Funk came out.

JJ Fad - Supersonic album review

For those old timers who don’t remember and for those that genuinely don’t know, in 1988 Eazy E and Jerry Heller secured the group JJ Fad a major label recording contract with ATCO Records which at the time Atlantic Records provided distribution for. JJ Fad at that was singed to both labels, Ruthless Records and Atlantic Records. The single Supersonic led to success and momentum which eventually led the Supersonic album to reach multi-platinum status thus becoming a success. The Supersonic album sold over 2 million copies in the United States and 4 million worldwide. Electro elements inside of their music made JJ Fad accessible to pop audiences.


JJ Fad incorporated electronic music and dance music with a hinted touch of pop added with some additional spicy sassy rap into the song Supersonic. The music genres incorporated into Supersonic are electronic, dance, pop, and hip hop/rap. Although the song Supersonic is more influenced by the sounds of electronic music and dance music more so than hip hop/rap. Nevertheless a hinted touch of rap is added into the mix of the song Supersonic.

The upbeat electronic dance song with spicy sassy rap ended being a success for the female group. The single Supersonic led to success and momentum which eventually led the Supersonic album to reach multi-platinum status thus becoming a success. It was electro elements inside of Supersonic that made JJ Fad accessible to pop audiences. Overall Supersonic proved to be the most successful and memorable song off their album Supersonic. JJ Fad proved to be rockin’ our world way out with the single Supersonic. (They were also listed on VH1's One-Hit Wonders of Rap in 2008.)


Now Way Out proved to be a success for JJ Fad way out there on the West Coast in the state of California. Way Out was another successful hit for female trio JJ Fad. It was electronic music elements inside of Way that made the single a success for JJ Fad as well. Way Out was not too “way out” for JJ Fad. It translated into another success for the female trio. Way Out was another successful single for them. Way Out was a follow-up to their one hit wonder Supersonic. That is the ironic thing about this track.

Way Out had different music genres incorporated than Supersonic did. The music genres incorporated into Way Out were rock, hip hop/rap, dance music, and electronic music. It seems Way Out samples Yello - Oh Yeah. Way Out has a small rock influenced fused inside of this JJ Fad song. A distorted electric guitar can be heard playing 4 bars of musical notes at the main hook. There is no chorus. Overall Way Out has fresh rhymes and fresh beats.

You can hear a distorted electric guitar playing at the chorus where JJ Fad talks. Where JJ Fad talks is when the distorted electric guitar can be heard playing 4 bars of musical notes on a mono speaker it seems. The tone for these musical notes is monotonous.

Let’s Get Hyped could have been chosen as a buzz single for the Supersonic album. The title and song itself were perfect enough to hype up a crowd during a concert live on stage or during any live performances. Let’s Get Hyped was perfect buzz single material. That is where Ruthless Records, ATCO Records, and Atlantic Records dropped the ball. All 3 record companies had all the opportunity in the world to mold Let’s Get Hyped into a buzz single.

Mainly Let’s Get Hyped had incorporated the sounds of hip hop/rap. Let’s Get Hyped had some of the freshest beats and freshest lyrics of the time. Sassy C dominated the track! She was on top with the hip hop/rap sound. So was the rest of JJ Fad. The sound is funky. The beats can be considered repetitive to some folks standards.


MC Ren was responsible for writing My Dope Intro. That offers an explanation why his sound is all over this introduction song. DJ Yella co-produced My Dope Intro. The beats on My Dope Intro are phat and fresh. Not to mention dope! Pumping bass is way phat. The sound is funky. The beats can be considered repetitive to some folks standards.

Blame It On The Muzick has some of the freshest beats and freshest lyrics. The song sounds very similar to what Yello would compose or Blue Man Group would perform live on stage. Blame It On The Muzick samples Model 500 - Time Space Transmat.

In The Mix is another funky JJ Fad cut that incorporates sounds from genres such as electronic, hip hop/rap, pop, dance, and techno. In The Mix samples Ron C - South Dallas Drop. Yes In The Mix does get repetitive at times. Now Really has some funny moments where JJ Fad go way out to diss others.


Although there were times when the album had some repetitiveness, overall it was fun. The album alone is worth the purchase. The catchy beats, fresh rhymes, wired electronic music sound, peppy tempo, and sassy lyrics in rap made this album alone worth the purchase. Way Out, Now Really, and Supersonic have some of the funniest moments.

JJ Fad - Not Just A Fad album review

We In The House was the only successful single that spawned from the Not Just A Fad album that yet somehow managed to chart onto the BillBoard. Hip hop meets house on We In The House ultimately creating an infusion of hip house. Overall We In The House is a hip house type of song. We In The House was the only single properly promoted. The single gained enough momentum for a music video. However the music video did not receive much airplay.

JJ Fad tampers around with the sound of gangsta rap on We Want It All which gives the song a more hardcore edge. The track has a hard edge. One word to describe We Want It All is hardcore. A hip hop sound can be heard on here. JJ Fad almost never fails to impress. Although this song is not way out. (Or too way out at that.)

Step has so much dance music infused into one song. The beats are crazy. Step is something everyone can enjoy. The beat is slamming. The slamming beat is what made this song popular in 1991. However the song did not generate enough heat to chart onto the BillBoard. Hip hop meets house on the song Step which ultimately led to the creation of an infusion of hip house. Step seems to have been inspired by sounds from the genre of dance music. JJ Fad almost never fails to impress. Although this song is not way out. The track does have a hardened edge.

Ain’t Nothin’ Comin’ has a message that warns us to be against being pressured into sex. JJ Fad tells us you and no one else should not be being pressured into having sex. Rapists tend to take advantage of pressuring people into having sex.

Not Just a Fad seems to revisit We In The House. The beat is slamming. The slamming beat is what made this song popular in 1991.


In the end, this album proved for the record that JJ Fad was just a fad. JJ Fad “was just a fad” that came and went because they could not live up to the success and momentum of their multi-platinum album Supersonic. So the general public forgot all about JJ Fad and moved on with life. They could not reach with the same success as Supersonic with their follow-up album Not Just a Fad or win their audiences over. That is the reality. It's sad that these ladies didn't get to move onto superstardom like as Salt 'n' Pepa did. Or exactly how Def Dames did. JJ Fad was not too comparable to 3LW though. JJ Fad is comparable to the female duo Def Dames however.

Ruthless, ATCO, and Atlantic Records dropped the female trio JJ Fad due to poor performance sales from the Not Just a Fad album a year later in 1992. So way out they went. The group disbanded shortly afterwards. Not Just a Fad did not chart at all on the BillBoard. JJ Fad had ran their course with Ruthless, ATCO, and Atlantic.

Instead of waiting 3 years to record a follow-up album, JJ Fad should have waited a year or less to record a follow-up record. A period of 3 years to record a follow-up album is much too long. The music industry and general public move on in life and focus onto other artists in a timespan period of 3 years. Consistency is key in keeping a solid fanbase that is dedicated to a group, duo, trio, quartet, or solo artist.

One can tell that JJ Fad had fun writing this album. You and I can sense that. The record is positive overall.
The Not Just a Fad album does has its favorable tolerable moments such as We In The House for instance. We Want It All is another favorable tolerable moment due to the fact that the trio experimented around with the new burgeoning gangsta rap sound of the time. Electronic and pop on this album meet hip hop/rap.
The only downside is that there are too many intros (which is oddly used as a substitute for the interludes) included on this album.

Lez Moné - Take Care Ya Business single review

Lez Moné tells us how she runs her own and handles her business on Take Care Ya Bizness. The whole track is about how the pimpstress takes care of business every day. Lez Moné tells us to take care of our own business and mind our own business on Take Care Ya Bizness. This track strictly aimed at the nosy people up in everyones business. Take Care Ya Bizness proved to be a hit in the Houston music scene for Lez Moné. The beats and lyrics were so dope! Funky G shit straight from H-Town.

The remix for Take Care Ya Bizness is a Houston style Jackin’ 4 Beats. Samples used on Take Care Ya Bizness (Remix) are as follows, Atomic Dog by George Clinton, Bop Gun (Endangered Species) by Parliament, More Bounce To The Ounce by Zapp, Freedom by Zapp, Flash Light by Parliament, Sing a Simple Song by Sly & the Family Stone, Trans-Europe Express by Kraftwerk, and It's Yours by T La Rock.

Lez Moné takes a pro-black stance on Too Black Too Strong. She experiments with political rap by using a fusion of gangsta rap to the mix. Consistently makes her presence known. Too Black Too Strong is the political rap cut of the album. Yes, Too Black Too Strong has samples from Footsteps in the Dark by The Isley Brothers. Dig the Ice Cube - It Was A Good Day sample out too!

Lez Moné has a good voice with an incredible flow on Sprung. Sprung is influenced by that West Coast sound. Most of Sprung is about that baby mama drama. The beats were so dope.

I Flows On is a Lez Moné posse cut involving herself and other including the smooth Harvey Love, rapper 2-Fancy, 350, and 88 Fingers. The smooth Harvey Love stands out the most on this Lez Moné posse cut. And so does 350 and rapper 2-Fancy.


The stellar production was mixed by Richard Johnson, Grizz, and legendary Houston producer Crazy C. Corey "Funky Fingaz" Stoot performs on tracks 1 to 4. Production by and from Grizz and legendary Houston producer Crazy C stand out the most as their production styles and technique are most memorable. Crazy C production truly stands out. Most of the production has a West Coast sound.

Lez Moné was very similar to the raw uncut raunchiness of The Conscious Daughters, Lady of Rage, MC Lyte, Bloody Mary, Yo Yo, Lil Mo, and so on. If you love The Conscious Daughters, Lady of Rage, or Yo Yo, then you will love this album! Lez Moné was from the second wave of Houston rap. She was one of the first female rappers from Houston next to Choice, Cl’Che, 380, and others. Lez Mone is a really good rapper!

When being a gangsta rapper did not work out or pan out the way she wanted, Lez Moné went on to become a top realtor of Houston. Today Leslie Hall is one of Houston’s top realtors thus earning the moniker “Houston Top Realtor”.

Snoop Dogg - Tha Doggfather album review

Snoop Dogg’s Tha Doggfather album is the worst 3/5*** star album in the history of music. Not many tracks were that enjoyable. The only good tracks were Vapors, 2001, Sixx Minutes, and Doggfather. Honestly the only good tracks were Vapors and Doggfather. The album turned out to be a disappointment among Snoop Dogg fans despite high sales. The album nearly become lost in the turmoil and tragic death of the slain 2Pac. Albums sales proved that differently. What was missing was Dr. Dre’s production on this Snoop Dogg album. Death Row Records and Snoop Dogg really dropped the ball here.

Yes, this is the same R&B/Soul Tweet that was on Missy Elliott's Goldmind Inc. in the early 00s! This EP was released digitally on Du Bose Music Group Inc. in 2013.

Proceed is a Tweet fan favorite song off of this EP. It's about whether or not Tweet should continue loving someone or not. The production on point as it usually is! The flute solo is quite lovely. The metronome in the background fits in perfectly with the beats and the drums. A smooth melody tune. In fact, Proceed is the 3rd most downloaded song that fans and other people buy off of Simply Tweet EP.

Daydreaming is a beautiful cover of Aretha Franklin - Daydreaming! I love it. Her emotive, yet subtle vocal style fits perfectly to cover the romantic lyrics of Aretha Franklins Daydreaming song. Sorry is about falling out of love.

Way To Love is about searching for love. Love is lost. The beats and drums on Way To Love are absolutely bananas.
Tweet shines brilliantly on the album's closing track Enough. On this song, Tweet tells us her story for calling it quits. She knew that her relationship ain't gonna last much longer. So it's time to move on the both of them.


Due to marketing, online leaks, emotions, and creative differences, Love, Tweet was shelved and leaked online. Which is probably why Love, Tweet was/is only released on promo only CD-r back around 2008/2009.

Tweet should have not leaked the materials from Love, Tweet and Simply Tweet. That way it would have gotten more fans to appreciate her music. She knew what she was getting herself into when she leaked her songs from Love, Tweet. That's why her songs from the Love, Tweet album was leaked onto her website for her fans to download for free in 2008. (Not trying to be mean or libel.)

The songs that should have been on here were, Anymore, Remedy, My Dear, Cruisin', Love You More, It's You, Reasons, Priceless, Never Too Late, Alone, Addicted, You, and Procrastination.

As for distributors, Tweet should have went to E1, City Hall, CNR, CDBaby, Fontana, or Clout. Don't know why she didn't do that. Umbrella Recordings was not a good label for her. I don't see Grand Hustle as an option either. Tweet should have went to Truth & Soul Records as Nicole Wray did in 2010. Truth & Soul benefits well.
You see Tweet admitted that no distributors were there to take on and distribute her Love, Tweet album.

Her topics don't cover new ground. We've all heard this type of material before.  If you are a devoted Tweet fan, this EP was not worth the long wait. But to support her, just buy this EP whether it be the physical CDs or digital copies. (Again, not trying to be mean.)

Nicole Wray - Boss Bitch album review.

Boss Bitch by Nicole Wray was released on Playmaker Music and Danizha from Atlanta, Georgia in 2010. A lot her music with Danizha was released digitally during the 00s and 2010s. Boss Bitch is a collection of songs that Nicole Wray recorded from 2002 to 2010.  These songs were leftover cuts from her unreleased albums such as Lovechild, Changes, Nicole Wray, Young Talented & Beautiful, Miss America, and Kill Cupid. As well as her Independence Day album/mixtape in 2006 on FOE and Playmaker Music. Even though this album was mostly a collection of leftover studio sessions and unreleased songs as well as new songs, it's better than no album at all. Nicole Wray fans should be thankful this album got released.

(There is a clean version to this album called Boss Chick which has different artwork and different songs than this one. The explicit one was taken off of iTunes.)


Anyway… On with the album.

Who Are You is one of those fast paced songs to ride your bicycle to. It is 2 minutes and 45 seconds long, which makes it kind of short. Nicole Wray reintroduces herself to the R&B game for 2010. This song is also to all those haters out there that have been hating on Nicole Wray. She was living in the ATL at the time when she recorded this song and even refers to herself as an ATLien! (Note the OutKast reference!) This song was recorded in 2010.

Wash Away is one of those depressing songs to wash away your pain to. Nicole Wray tells us why she wants to wash away all her pain inside. It feels like Russian Roulette to the dome (head). You love the zither/koto playing in the background as it grows onto you. Props to whoever was playing the zither/koto on this song. This song was recorded in 2010.

Pandora's Box is a fun mystery song. This song sounds like it was recorded in 2008 or 2009. Focus from Aftermath Entertainment produced this song. If you listen closely, you can hear the drums and beats sample to Computer Love by Zapp. Pandora's Box sounds like a dreamy love song. Focus does a great job of producing on this song.

Ms. America is a song to the ladies when their man made them feel like Ms. America. This song was from the Miss America era. The song is for the ladies out there who feel famous. Ms. America is a song that speaks for itself.

Money is a song that speaks for itself. Money is something we all need! Money is a necessity. Gotta get that green. This song is for the strippers out there in them strip clubs downtown or wherever you at. For all them sexy pole dancers. That sums up this song here.

He Must Know is a slow jam and a club song. It's a perfect song to play on a boat cruise or in a restaurant. This song is definitely a perfect song to play in a restaurant during the day or at night! It reminds me of a soft Beatles Song. This song was done in 2007.

Drumz is a love song with very loud beats from 7 Aurelius. Drumz sounds like it was recorded in 2010 even the production sounds a bit distorted. It's another great song! Drumz is from her 2010 albums Boss Bitch and Boss Chick. Drumz has 122 BPM. It's another great song as you will love it! You can get to love the distortion a bit.

Dice Roll was on the 2006 Independence Day album. Dice Roll features rapper Young Fell. It's a bit shorter than the original version on the Independence Day album. It's a sad mid tempo song about real life and reality. Everyday is just another hustle.

Eye Candy is one of those 2010s rave club songs. On of those hot party clubbin' songs as some people like to call it and refer to as. All the girls want to be like Nicole Wray. I love the ATL crunk music, trap beats, and club music added to this track.

Callin' has either a Curtis Mayfield or an Isaac Hayes sample at the beginning. It needed a music video to go along with it. Another 2010 song. If you listen closely, the bassline is sampling The D.O.C. - Let The Bass Go.

I Like It is the hit single for this album! I Like It samples 2pac - I Get Around. It has a 90s feel to it. I Like It was recorded in 2009. I Like It had music video to go along with it. This whole song is bananas and off the hook!

My Friend was a song recorded in 2006 and was produced by Focus from the ATL. This song was on the 2006 Independence Day album. It's a great song! Boy You Make Me Say is another love song. Probably a 2003 song. Boss Bitch is a preppy song.


Misery loves company on the song Miserable People. The mellow and vibe are smooth, timid, and slow. Miserable People is from her 2010 albums Boss Bitch and Boss Chick. The beautiful mellow piano solo at the beginning of Miserable People helps give off a mellow vibe that is not too ecstatic. Miserable People has a loud and powerful essence in the sound.

Nicole Wray laces the track with her soulful singing about how misery loves company. Nicole Wray states there is so many things to love about life. In reality, there is so many things to love about living life. Life has its ups and downs. So why hate? Nicole Wray does not want miserable people in her life. She won’t let it get the best of her.


The last song is Back Up Against The Wall. Back Up Against The Wall was a song that was supposed to be on the 2005 Lovechild album when Nicole Wray was signed to Rocafella Records and DDMG. As you all know that didn't happen due to the Jay-Z and Dame Dash feud between 2004 and 2006. (Which sucked.)

Back Up Against The Wall features UK hip hop/rap group SAS. SAS was signed to Rocafella as well when Nicole Wray was there. SAS was also known as Eurogang. SAS was also signed to Cam'ron's Diplomats Records in the mid 00s. Back Up Against The Wall was recorded in 2002. Back Up Against The Wall needed to have a music video along with the song.

As well as her Independence Day album/mixtape in 2006 on FOE and Playmaker Music. Even though this album was mostly a collection of leftover studio sessions and unreleased songs as well as new songs, it's better than no album at all. A lot of profanities were cut out from the ones that were on Boss Bitch and a couple of songs were altered and deleted for the clean version. Miserable People was left out on this version.)
