Original B - World of Fools album review
World of Fools was released in 1996 on cassette only. All the cover artwork including the inlay was done by Erica & Jim Schafer. Brick City Productions (aka Brick City Records) was responsible for putting out his cassette. World of Fools was a demo Original B had used to ship around to major record companies in hope for a recording contract. Original B is a rapper from Cleveland, Ohio. Nothing much has been heard about him since 1996.
Brick City Intro is the intro. Brick City is a reference to Cleveland, Ohio. The Brick City Intro samples James Brown - The Big Payback. Also dig the James Brown bass guitar sample in the background. Original B lets us know we have entered the zone the beginning of the Brick City Intro. World of Fools is a world of pure evil, chaos, and monotony.
The same intro used on Original B - World of Fools would later be used on the Da’X - Creepin’ on da Cut album in 1997 as well. Nobody else would have thought so otherwise. The Brick City Intro is so dope. Brick City Intro was produced by all the in-house producers at Brick City Productions (aka Brick City Records).
The bass is real deep, dark, and brooding on the World of Fools track. Listen to the very beginning of the track. The mood is very brooding on the World of Fools track so you know shit’s about to get real deep! Really deep! Brooding moods with deep dark heavy bass gives out Esham’s acid rap vibe.
Original B tells his story of his life. Original B grew up in church with a religious background like every black child. Then he started acting wild. He had girl after girl laying naked next to him. Now he hung with fools puffing on ecstasy. Now he is in the drug game. The drug game first started on the block. Now Original B is big time in a position of power. Currently he’s a rapper and storyteller.
Hell is where Original B dwells. Original B is trying to find his place in this world of fools hence the title of the track. Repentance is the biggest concern on his mind. Living life in this game he’s forced to follow the rules and find himself a spot in this world of fools.
The chorus describes how mother is crying because her son got shot (homicide was the case) and how mother is crying because of that crack rock (cocaine). The chorus repeats itself for 15 seconds.
Original B is in the quasnetic state between heaven or hell. He is caught up between heaven or hell. It’s hard to maintain living life. Will he make it in an ever so cold world? He is standing bold sporting gold and driving Benzo’s. Pimping fine hoes.
Hoochie Mama’s is dealing with the social problems and social concerns of women degrading themselves. All dem project hoes. These women that live in public housing projects such as HUD for instance. Women who are on public assistance and welfare living in lower income areas. The ghetto of course.
The beginning of Hoochie Mama’s starts with a funky saturated bass line over a funky funk guitar with heavy pounding bass guaranteed to almost ruin your speakers if you have set your speakers at a high volume. A looped guitar sample is played on the overdub in the background. If saturated bass is what you’re looking for, then this is the right joint for you.
Quasnetic is a track that appeared on the Original B - World of Fools as a Da’X/Original B duo cut in 1996. The sample used is Morris Day - Jiggalos Get Lonely Too. Quasnetic later appeared on the 1997 album Da’X - Creepin’ on da Cut.
Quasnetic is dedicated to the brothers and sisters living in a quasnetic state. Quasnetic means getting caught up between the good and the bad by being mentally in the middle. It means being in the middle of the crossroads for particular events, situations, or drama. When in a quasnetic state, you are automatically in the middle unable to decide the good or bad about a particular situation or event. In Original B’s case, the quasnetic state means living the street life.
At the beginning of Quasnetic, Original B explains how at the age of 13 he was living on the streets to make ends meet. He used to sell drugs. Now he is trying so hard to stay clean and clear of drugs. There were drug fiends among other fiends at the time. He used to sell crack cocaine. The blocks are where he would cruise everyday. Original B would slang on Beachwood. He knows the street life is wrong. So every night he prays to Jesus Christ.
Original B is in the quasnetic state between heaven or hell. He is caught up between heaven or hell. It’s hard to maintain living life. Will he make it in an ever so cold world? He is standing bold sporting gold and driving Benzo’s. Pimping fine hoes.
Quasnetic is dedicated to those living in a quasnetic state of mind. When in a quasnetic state, you are automatically in the middle unable to decide the good or bad about a particular situation or event. In Original B’s case and for Da’X as well, the quasnetic state means living the street life.
Da’X drinks beer after beer while living life with no fear. Da’X and Original B be slanging that crack rock. Da’X states the 6 o’clock news does not care about the ghetto. When you see Da’X rolling on Beachwood, you’ll notice him because he’s the brother with the fleeetwood. He’s got the Benz, the friends, and a whole lot of ends. His body cannot stop living in this quasnetic state.
XTC is about the dangers of the drug ecstasy. Ecstasy is a very dangerous drug that makes people very horny and perverted. Fools aren’t acting right when they’re on ecstasy. XTC is very similar to Lil Sin - Whatever It Takes. Mostly XTC is about reaching the height of ecstasy in sexual intercourse. Original B takes us (you) to a different level of ecstasy (XTC).
Bounce To This starts with heavy bass over a sample of Fila Fresh Crew - Hate To Go To Work. Original B tells sucker MCs they compete with that weak sound as Original B is quick to get on that ass. Original B is about to lose control like Silk. In his rap, Original B is like a lyrical Mozart. Bounce To This is a lyrical rap freestyle with a hip hop touch.
This cassette was like no other album or EP that was coming straight out of the Ohio rap scene particularly the city of Cleveland. Brooding moods with deep dark heavy bass gives out Esham’s acid rap vibe. Original B is a great storyteller in his own right and way. Too bad Original B never got his break with this demo of his.

Da’X - Creepin’ on da Cut album review
Da’X and Original B were label mates on the Brick City Productions label outta Cleveland, Ohio. In fact they often collaborated on each others songs. Da’X contributed to many songs all over the Original B - World of Fools demo from 1996. Brick City Productions gives Cleveland rapper Da’X gets his own chance in to shine in the spotlight on his debut album Creepin’ on da Cut which was released in 1997. He gets a chance to prosper and shin on the mic.

A walk thru hell has that deep dark heavy bass with a touch of Esham’s acid rap sounds. The bass hits hard and heavy as the sounds on this particular Da’X song are rough and rugged. The heavy pultruding bass stands out the most. 3 minutes of negative reality best describes this song as the song offers no solutions or answers to the problems Da’X faces.
The life of Da’X seems to be in shambles. He takes us on a walk thru hell. Another homeboy got shot by a glock. The mother is crying because her son is dead buried in underground. Da’X makes a reference to black on black crime 25 seconds into the song.
Da’X strives to survive as he competes against the devil. His neighborhood is a mess. Crime has taken over. He’s walking over dead bodies and bloody coat hangers. Da’X found out from his girl he has HIV. According to Da’X life is just a fairytale. With no father around, his family could not pay rent.
This album was like no other album or EP that was coming straight out of the Ohio rap scene particularly the city of Cleveland. Brooding moods with deep dark heavy bass gives out Esham’s acid rap vibe. The album has a dark and grimey mood. Only downside is the number of skits. If that was toned down, then this album would have been a bonafide 5/5***** classic!

Danny Brown - Old album review
Danny Brown has been making quite a buzz in the music scene since his debut performance at SXSW in 2014. His performance at SXSW was off the hook with all the news songs from the slammin' swac album Old! Most of the tracks on this album has references to drugs or drug paraphernalia on tracks such as Wonderbread, 25 Bucks, Clean Up, Dope Song, Dip, Smokin' & Drinkin', Kush Coma. Most of the tracks are fixated on hocus pocus drugs such as weed and kush.
Danny Brown reintroduces himself on the new album to his newer audience on 'The Return' with music industry heavyweight Freddie Gibbs as the featured artist. Freddie Gibbs does a good superb job as a rapper spitting verses and bars. Within the heavy lyricism of course.
Wonderbread proved to be a choice cut. Ideal for single material. The vibe and mood are quirky. The instrumentation selection used for Wonderbread helps give the song a quirky vibe.
Way Up Here featuring Top Dawg Entertainment underground rapper Ab-Soul is ideal material for single material. Way Up Here featuring Ab-Soul should have been a single because younger artists from the 2000s generation and 2010s generation prove to be top selling charting artists as BillBoard records and reports the statistics of album sales in their magazines and online.

Eminem - Revival album review
Revival is the new comeback album for Eminem of 2017 and 2018. Eminem makes a solid remarkable comeback by releasing another album to please the masses. Revival proves to be yet another hit with Eminem fans across international borders in countries across the planet. Although popular among new fans, a handful of original Eminem fans consider this album to be trash. Some people went as far as to call Revival "the best Eminem album of all time". (Yes even including their music album reviews.)
Using the comedy rock sample from Cheech & Chong - Earache My Eye was a new interesting concept for instrumental backing for the background music of this song. I love how he used the Cheech & Chong comedy rock sample in the song Untouchable. No one has yet to have done that on a rap album or a rap song.
The song itself deals with racism and how racism still effects America today. Eminem takes all his anger and angst out against the system on Untouchable. Eminem speaks on stuff he has really not touched on his career especially with racism. Not only that, Eminem showcases his political side by touching subjects such as racism and police brutality.
Walk on Water with BeyoncĂ© was the pop single used to increase the album sales. The album's lead single Walk on Water has reached top 10 in Australia and Ireland. Both Skylar Grey and Eminem wrote the hook for this song. The song was this album’s breakthrough single. Walk on Water was the song of the year (2017) for Eminem period.
River was another song that was a breakthrough single for this album that had featured Ed Sheeran which cheated at #5 on the Top 100 Billboard Charts and #5 for the ARIA Charts in Australia.
Revival is honestly a 4/5**** album being that he make a solid remarkable comeback. Lovely how he used the Cheech & Chong comedy rock sample in the song Untouchable. No one has yet to have done that. Eminem speaks on stuff he has really not touched on his career.

Ken Kaniff - KEN KANIFF FROM CONNECTICUT.. THE ALBUM! SINGLE SAMPLER… album review
KEN KANIFF FROM CONNECTICUT.. THE ALBUM! SINGLE SAMPLER was released digitally by none other than Ken Kaniff (Detroit rapper Aristotle) on his old Ken Kaniff website in the year 2000. KEN KANIFF FROM CONNECTICUT.. THE ALBUM! SINGLE SAMPLER was released digitally as an album sampler for the 2002 album The Ken Kaniff Show longtime hardcore fans of Eminem know about.
[KEN KANIFF FROM CONNECTICUT.. THE ALBUM! would eventually become the 2002 album The Ken Kaniff Show longtime hardcore fans of Eminem know about.]
From the text file that was included in his mp3 that was the album sampler KEN KANIFF FROM CONNECTICUT.. THE ALBUM! SINGLE SAMPLER.:
“ Since Ken Kaniff made his first appearance on Eminem's debut album he's been in the lab cookin up one hell of a concoction. He's traveled all over the world to gather a selected few that now makes up his unique, talented and "off the hook" musical entourage. He's also had the privilege to work with an array of musicians who have help make Ken Kaniff in the legend that he is today. Producer and executive in charge of production Angelo Rosati Costa, has put together a platinum worthy CD containing tracks produced by Angelo. ”
The album sampler itself very explicit and sexually provocative with dark disturbing lyrics. Ken Kaniff highlights homosexuality and attacks Eminem lyrically all over the place. Most of the songs are downright disturbing such as Buy U A Beer, Babysitter, and Ken Is Crazy.
In Buy U A Beer, Ken Kaniff wants to buy some underaged women a beer. Preferably high schools is whom he wants to target. In Buy U A Beer, Ken attempts to perform acts of downright pedophilia in order to buy the women, he wants, a beer.
He is still in high school and he will be lucky to even pass. Ken is real good at most subjects but sucks horribly at math. Ken is 21 and has been in high school for 6 years. The only thing he learned is how to buy beer.
At the beginning is where Ken spits game to ninth-grade hoes by writing love letters and notes with X and Os. For instance, this one girl who sat next to me at a desk. He knew she liked him because she wouldn’t let him cheat off her test. She was kind of cute too, but her tits weren’t developed. By the time she’s sixteen, Ken knowns her breasts will swell up.
They exchanged numbers. So Ken called on her phone. Her mother picked up and Ken said “Is Jennifer home?”
She was screaming and yelling “Now how old are you?”. Ken responded “Old enough to buy your daughter a cold case of brew.”
His attempts at buying underaged women beer are witty. Read the lines to these lyrics.:
When you’re standing in line, buying a three musketeers
I’m right behind you trying to buy you a beer
Ken Kaniff performs acts of outright pedophilia. Read these lyrics for instance.:
Ken Kaniff, I like my pussy young and fresh
I’m off soft warm women with them b-cup breasts
So that means Ken rubs little girls breasts. When they get home, their panties disappear. Throughout the rest of the entirety of this track, Ken talks about how he likes his girls young.
Without You is both an Eminem parody and Eminem diss track all at the same time. Ken Kaniff is Aristotle’s alter ego that he uses to diss Eminem. Ken Kaniff goes in on Eminem both figuratively and literally all throughout the track. Ken tells the listener(s) about how he wants to have sex with Eminem & Dr. Dre while making homosexual remarks aimed at both of them.
At the beginning of Without You, Ken Kaniff gets his ass licked by Eminem since he is a cockboy. Eminem is obsessed with faggots with rumors of him being a homophobic person possibly. However that is false as Eminem openly denied being homophobic.
Babysitter is about a bizarre look on the dangers of babysitting altogether. Ken Kaniff receives a called from a desperate father in search of a babysitter for his youthful daughter. The father is unaware that Ken Kaniff is to mentally unstable as he is not deemed fit to babysit anyone's children.

Ken Kaniff - The Ken Kaniff Show album review
The Ken Kaniff Show album released by Detroit rapper Aristotle who now lives in California. The Ken Kaniff Show album was released online digitally as a digital album online in 2002 on Ken Kaniff’s old website via Cock&Ass Records. The album was intended to be a digital album on the internet only hence why few physical copies are available. However the album's site is no longer in operation and little has been heard from Aristotle since. But not to worry as you can listen to the album on DatPiff and Spotify.
He also put up this whole album for free in 2002 on his Ken Kaniff website, but however the tracklist was altered. Instead of the original 14 tracks that were on the digital version, some tracks were renamed and altered with. There are 2 versions of this album. One edition has 14 track and the other edition has 21 tracks including a hidden bonus track.
Aristotle alternates between his “Ken Kaniff voice“ and regular rapping style of his on the album. The album can be considered as both sadistic and humourous art the same time. His debut album features diss tracks against Eminem and contains controversial songs. The homosexual persona of Ken Kaniff is the creation of underground Detroit rapper Aristotle and Eminem. Ken Kaniff has a visibly obvious love/hate relationship with Eminem.
The album from his website back in 2002 received over 100,000 digital downloads in album sales. Overall the album received 200,000 streams from 2002 to 2006. The album received over 10,000 digital downloads in album sales in the second half of 2002. Today the album has received over 300,000 streams on Spotify.
The beginning of The Ken Kaniff Show album begins with the Ken Kaniff (Skit) from The Slim Shady LP album by Eminem released in 1999. The funniest skit off any of Eminem’s albums! Ken Kaniff (voiced by Aristotle) calls Eminem in order to have gay sex with him. Homosexual antics ensue. His reaction is hysterical at the end.
At the beginning of the skit is when Ken Kaniff makes a collect call to Eminem from Connecticut, US. (To give Eminem a piece of his mind and ass of course.) A collect call is a call where any person who gets called is actually the one who gets charged for the phone call. Basically Ken Kaniff is calling Emimen and having him pay for the collect call from Connecticut.
In the middle of the skit is when Eminem believes Cage was trying to fuck with him. Eminem is thinking this was a prank call likely performed by the rapper Cage. Cage was a rapper Eminem dissed at the end of Role Model.
At the very end of the skit is where Aristotle can be heard laughing thus breaking character for a moment. However it could be implied that it was either both Eminem or Ken Kaniff that were laughing. Eminem can be heard snickering thus breaking character for a moment at the very end of this skit.
Read their phone conversation transcript from the lyrics.:
[Ken Kaniff] I'm gonna call this motherfucker. Oh fuck yeah. Give him a piece of my mind.
A piece of my ass.
[Operator] Thank you for waiting. Hello. May I help you?
[Ken Kaniff] Oh thank you. I need to make a collect call
[Operator] What number?
[Ken Kaniff] Oh the number is 6-2 (redacted of course).
[Operator] At the tone, please say your name.
[Ken Kaniff] Kenneth Kaniff, from Connecticut. Automated piece of shit.
[Eminem] Yo.
[Ken Kaniff] Hey there, cock boy.
[Eminem] Who is this?
[Ken Kaniff] This is Ken Kaniff.
[Eminem] Who?
[Ken Kaniff] Ken Kaniff from Connecticut. You little bitch.
[Eminem] From Connecticut? I don't know nobody in Connecticut.
[Ken Kaniff] Yeah. You wanna get a hotel room with me?
[Eminem] A hotel room?
[Ken Kaniff] Yeah. You want me to lick your ass, Eminem?
[Eminem] Yo who is this? Cage?
[Ken Kaniff] You want me to fucking melt in your mouth and not in your hand?
Melt in your ass, you little cock boy.
[Eminem] Shut up you little bitch.
[Ken Kaniff] Oh, you think I'm lying huh...
[Eminem] Hahahahahaha!
At the beginning is where Ken spits game to ninth-grade hoes by writing love letters and notes with X’s and O’s.
His attempts of grabbing and groping underaged women’s breasts is considered an act of pedophilia.
Ken Kaniff takes a journey on to Mexico in the track Vato. Ken is across the border in Mexico. People think that he is Hispanic or of Spanish origin. He is being called Vato as he is mistakably considered to be Hispanic.
Ken is located 20 miles south of the US-Mexico border with no cash, nothing but a dollar and a quarter ($1.25 USD). He spent his last $20 dollars on the slut at the bar. She's sitting shotgun, waiting for Ken in the car. Now there's one thing left before he leave the country of Mexico. He needs a bag of rubbers so this chick can fuck him.
So he’s looking for a rubber when I see this dude. This dude says back behind the counter. The man says, “Me no hablo inglĂ©s”, which means “I don’t speak English”. What the fuck? "I just need a bag of condoms yo, I'll give you a buck" Since the man does not understand him, Ken is going to have to use body language and not in the way that you are thinking of. If you can't communicate you end up alone.
Later on, Ken Kaniff proceeds to whip his dick over the counter. However the tables turn on Ken. His dick was bigger than Ken’s. Ken Kaniff got steady played by a Vato (the man over the counter). At the end of the track is where Ken Kaniff takes it up the ass and returns to the US.
Aristotle takes jabs at Aftermath Entertainment and Shady Records. Aristotle is making fun of Eminem. Dr. Dre gets called out for being gay.
Kreep With Me has a West Coast rap sound similar to the production by Dr. Dre. In fact, the production is so crystal clear that it sounds similar to a Dr. Dre production. Its a fast food fiasco as Ken is extremely hungry. Things don’t go as planned at a fast food restaurant. So Ken goes crazy.
If You Play Your Cards Right was a bonus track for The Ken Kaniff Show album. The track does not appear on the track listing for the tracks to this album. If You Play Your Cards Right is a hidden track not many Ken Kaniff fans know about.
Here is the full story behind the Eminem Vs. Aristotle dispute.:
Aristotle was the voice for Ken Kaniff on Ken Kaniff (Skit) on the The Slim Shady LP in 1999. This dispute occurred after lending his voice to Ken Kaniff (Skit) on the The Slim Shady LP. The two were friends in Detroit prior to 1999. They had a good friendship and relationship.
Eminem and Aristotle were invited to perform on a radio called the Wake Up Show in 1999 alongside Defari of Dilated Peoples in Oakland, California. Eminem had wanted Aristotle to not diss Defari on the Wake Up Show in 1999. Aristotle sided with Defari by not dissing him. Eminem was pissed so much at Aristotle for dissing Defari on that radio show.
After Aristotle ruined any chance of acceptance by dissing Defari on the Wake Up Show in 1999, Aristotle and Eminem had a dispute which led to the break-up of their working relationship. However the Wake Up Show incident in 1999 was not the only thing that led to their dispute.
Aristotle lent his voice for Ken Kaniff used on the Ken Kaniff (Skit) on the The Slim Shady LP in 1999. Contrary to popular belief the voice was NOT done by Eminem, but was done by underground rapper Aristotle from Detroit. After lending his voice to that skit, Eminem used this skit without his permission on his 1999 album called The Slim Shady LP. Aristotle was not pleased.
This led Eminem and Aristotle to have a dispute. Aristotle severed ties with Eminem due to the Defari incident and due to issues of ownership over the Ken Kaniff persona. The relationship between Eminem and Aristotle had now been cut. Ties were severed. Eminem went on to do the Ken Kaniff skits himself afterwards after 1999. Starting with the The Marshall Mathers LP in 2000, all Eminem skits using the Ken Kaniff persona have always been performed by Eminem and not Aristotle. Which is why Aristotle did not perform on The Marshall Mathers LP in 2000 contrary to popular belief.
In 2000, Aristotle decided to reinvent himself as “The Real Ken Kaniff”. He then released the KEN KANIFF FROM CONNECTICUT.. THE ALBUM! SINGLE SAMPLER… . KEN KANIFF FROM CONNECTICUT.. THE ALBUM would eventually become The Ken Kaniff Show album in 2002.
In 2002, Aristotle released The Ken Kaniff Show album online to the internet through his own website. The Ken Kaniff Show is a diss album aimed at Eminem because he stole his “Ken Kaniff” character by using him on his other albums. Which is why the album features diss tracks against Eminem.
It’s sad that Aristotle did not make it big. Him and Eminem could have made more funny Ken Kaniff skits if Aristotle had not ruined his chance of acceptance by dissing Defari on the Wake Up Show in 1999. Comedy rap albums such this masterpiece are pure gold! It’s Ken Kaniff at his best right here. Ken Kaniff should have made more albums than he has.
*KEN KANIFF is a registered trademark on file with the STATE OF CALIFORNIA COPYRIGHT BOARD.
*This was his debut album besides KEN KANIFF FROM CONNECTICUT.
*Aristotle would release an EP later that year called Don’t Tell Daddy with the now famous comedian Ali G.
*Sometime in 2000 is when Aristotle relocated from Detroit to California and had started producing for San Francisco/Bay Area rappers. He still lives in the San Francisco/Bay Area to this day.

Kaniff & Menace - Don’t Tell Daddy EP review
Don’t Tell Daddy was the 2nd album and EP released by Kaniff & Menace in the year of 2002 on an independent label called Cock&Ass Records from California. The EP was released on CD and as a digital album online. Kaniff & Menace are none other than Ken Kaniff (Detroit rapper Aristotle) and now famous comedian Ali G who at the time was going under the name Menace.
At the time, Detroit rapper Aristotle (who had performed under the name Ken Kaniff) was running an an independent label called Cock&Ass Records. Menace (Ali G aka Sacha Baron Cohen) was signed to Cock&Ass Records from 2002 to 2006. Menace was an underground comedy rap artist known for his foul humour and outrageous comedy acts. Sometime in 2000 is when Aristotle relocated from Detroit to California and had started producing for San Francisco/Bay Area rappers.
Ken Kaniff goes the Too $hort route by experimenting with sexuality rap (sex rap) by getting overtly provocative by getting into sexual humour in both the art forms of rap and comedy on the Don’t Tell Daddy album/EP. The duo gets in way deep with their overtly provocative sexual lyrics and humour. For example: on the back cover where the tracklist is, a man can be seen humping Britney Spears. The idea of a random man humping Britney Spears came form none other than Ken Kaniff.
The tracklist is an erotic tracklist with tracks such as follows.:
Don't Tell Daddy EP (Ken Kaniff & Menace):
01. Don't Tell Daddy (Intro)
02. Dont Tell Daddy
03. First 2 Cum
04. Just Another Fantasy
05. 187Cum
06. Let's Get Sluts, Let's Fuck
07. I'm Cummin
08. Hoes Or Whores (Outro)
First 2 Cum first appeared on the internet on the Ken Kaniff website in 2002 as a promo single which was released digitally as First 2 Cum Promo. In 2003 the track was retitled to First 2 Cum. Ken Kaniff lets everyone know that when he is having sex, participating in an orgy, or simply raping someone, he will be the first one to come since he is the rapist.
Just Another Fantasy takes the listeners on a journey through perverted minds of Ken Kaniff and Menace when it comes to sexual fantasies. Both Ken Kaniff and Menace have such perverse thoughts in their minds. It’s not bros over hoes here.
It seems to be bros over hoes on the outro Hoes Or Whores (Outro) for both Menace and Ken Kaniff. However that is not case apparently. It’s hoes or whores. I'm Cummin lets everyone Ken Kaniff and Menace are both “cummin” together. Both Ken Kaniff and Menace have a filthy obsession with cum (semen).

Lil Hawk - Red Pagez (digital edition) album review
Lil Hawk finally released an album after all these years! And no, this is not the Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood album that circulated via CD-r in the hoods of Inglewood, California and Los Angeles, California (LA) back in 1997. This Lil Hawk album is a new album!
The album was released digitally online in October 2016 by Denver, Colorado based label Upset Records and Red Pagez Ent. And of course on CD distributed from rapbay.com. The Red Pagez album is a collection of tracks that were recorded from 1994-2016 during his time as a solo artist and during his time signed onto Dangerous Records which was 1994-1999. Some of those tracks were recorded from 1994-1999 before Lil Hawk caught his murder case which landed him in jail on April of 1999. Most of these tracks were recorded from 1994-2014.
Physical copies of this album exist, but the Red Pagez album was intended to be a digital album available online only. Physical copies of this album can be purchased on rapbay.com however. Denver, Colorado based label Upset Records oversaw the responsibilities of marketing this Lil Hawk album towards the digital market online.
Some of the sound and production is not up top notch thrifty state-of-the-art recording standards. Lil Hawk did record some tracks on a 4-track cassette recorder connected to a mono speaker which is why the vocals are lower than the music on some tracks. The tracks recorded on a 4-track cassette recorder were recorded in the 1990s from 1994 to 1999.
These tracks were from his albums Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood and the Lil Hawk self-titled solo album which was supposed be to all solo tracks by Lil Hawk only. Some tracks are older tracks recorded over new beats with a fresh updated sound. Some older tracks are recorded with new musical styles with a fresh updated production sound. However some of these tracks are newer tracks such as Blood Life, Murda Flo, Broke Bitchez, and M-Gang.
Ironically Tweedy Bird Loc and Dangerous Records had nothing to do with this release nor was the album released by Dangerous Records. Despite Tweedy Bird Loc, J Stank, Leroy Dukes, QLuso, and Ronnie Ron producing some of the tracks, neither parties or producers involved had any say in the matter of whether or not the Red Pagez album would be released or not.
Red Rida is a self-explanatory track about Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood himself. Lil Hawk gets self-explanatory and autobiographical on Red Rida. Red Rida was most likely recorded in 2002-2003 since it has that new school rap sound. Imagine if real G’s like Lil Hawk were out on the streets right now bringing the real shit. These fake gangsters and wack rappers couldn't stand up!
Red Rida was a track recorded for the 1997 album Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood. The track was not recorded at the Dangerous Records studios Ronnie Ron once owned. Lil Hawk recorded the vocals for Red Rida at his house. The music was later added professionally at a state of the art studio.
Westside Moment is a hood classic to some. However you can’t help but feel something is off when you listen to Westside Moment. Lil Hawk’s flow does not match up the tempo on Westside Moment. He raps way too fast in such a rapid pace that his lyrics do not match up with the mid tempo beats. However don’t let that deter you away from listening to the track. Lil Hawk is still hard with it.
Westside Moment was probably recorded sometime during 1994-1999 seeing as how the track samples Luniz - I Got 5 On It. Westside Moment was a track recorded for the 1997 album Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood. Vocals Westside Moment were recorded on a 4-track cassette recorder connected to a mono speaker.
Murda Flo pays tribute to fallen late rapper B Brazy of Damu Ridas. Sound clips of B Brazy from the documentary War Stories, which was released on DVD in the 1990s, are included on the intro to Murda Flo. (LIP B Brazy).
Representn was a track recorded in 1996 for the 1997 album Lil Hawk Red Riding Hood. B Brazy takes lead of the chorus by hollering “Woop Woop”. Representn is a Lil Hawk/B Brazy duo cut. Their vocals were recorded at Lil Hawk’s house on a 2-track cassette recorder. Representn is quite similar to Blood Life, My Shit Bang, and Inglewood Barz in terms of gangsta rap.
Inglewood Barz is a Lil Hawk freestyle rap track that has that classic Dangerous Records sound with hard heavy hitting bass that will surely rattle your speakers! Level for bass is quite heavy. The treble inside his vocals are quite noticeable as Inglewood Barz was recorded in 1997 on a 4-track cassette recorder connected to a mono speaker which is why the vocals are lower than the music.
The electronic synths and new school rap sound on My Shit Bang do not suit Lil Hawk at all. My Shit Bang is more of a “hit or miss” type of track. The treble inside his vocals are quite as his vocals could have been mastered better. Treble stands as a highlight out the most here. Lil Hawk’s lyrical skills shine and flourish throughout the track. Overall the song bangs hard from a lyrical perspective.
Blood Life was was recorded in 2014 and released as a music video digitally online to the internet. Blood Life was the Blood Anthem of Inglewood, California from 2014 to 2016. The track Blood Life was dedicated to the Blood gang which Lil Hawk was a part of in the 90s.
Red Pagez is a 4/5**** album! Lil Hawk the Inglewood legend returns with the real gangsta shit on this album. The album has that classic Dangerous Records sound on top of that new school rap school. However most of the tracks retain a new school rap sound rather than the classic Dangerous Records sound Lil Hawk fans among others would expect to hear. The weak tracks on this album are Broke Bitchez, Tha Weed, N Tha Hood, and Tha Niggaz I Kno. Trap beats do not suite Lil Hawk at all. Period. The old school rap sound suites Lil Hawk best.
Other than that, Lil Hawk should do a sequel album to this album called Red Pagez 2 which would be appropriate for a follow-up album to this album. That would be brehsive! A sequel album called Red Pagez 2 from Lil Hawk should be released.
4/5****!
