Trey Lorenz - Trey Lorenz album review

The Trey Lorenz album was written during the Mariah Carey promotional tour of 1990. Trey with Mariah Carey and him became good friends during her 1990 promotional tour. Mariah Carey was said to have co-wrote songs for his solo album. She did the backing vocals for his debut album. Top writers made contributions to the songwriting along with Trey Lorenz himself. Most of the album contemporary R&B love songs and musical pop hits. The album was released in 1992 on Epic Records.

Someone To Hold was minor hit track composed by Trey Lorenz and co-written by Mariah Carey. You can tell Mariah Carey wrote this song just by looking at the title for this composition. The song Someone To Hold is a passionate love song sung perfectly by both Trey Lorenz and Mariah Carey. Mariah Carey sings the backup vocals for Someone To Hold.

However the song wasn’t a commercial success. Someone To Hold could have been a Top 40 hit. Lack of promotion led to the song not charting. Epic Records dropped the ball on the debut album for Trey Lorenz by not pushing or promoting the song properly as a minor hit for a single.

When Troubles Come is a song that will bring you to tears as the song itself is a tearjerker. When dealing with a lot of pressure with the world was crashing down on you, the song When Troubles Come uplifts and brightens your spirits along with others spirits. This upbeat tune always brightens up spirits. The song When Troubles Come is perfect for dealing with  life and personal relationships.

The verse "You're gonna need a friend" is about accepting people to come into your life. The verse is also about accepting love to be in your life. This verse sheds light on life and personal relationships.

Both Mariah Carey and Trey Lorenz wrote the passionate song How Can I Say Goodbye. Mariah Carey wrote this song obviously. How Can I Say Goodbye could have been a hit track. Just To Be Close To You is an impassioned cover of Lionel Richie - Just To Be Close To You.

It’s truly bad that his solo work wasn't a commercial success. Trey Lorenz could have been the Trey Songz of the 90s generation. That’s for sure. With the right management, promotion, support, and finances, he could have reached stardom. Trey Lorenz has a beautiful voice possessed with true vocal quality backed by excellent instrumentation arrangement.

Sadistic Intent ‎– Resurrection album review

Sadistic Intent ‎released the Resurrection album in 1994 on Gothic Records from the US, which was dedicated to the supporters of the true underground death metal scene. They gave solemn thanks and respect to the fans in the underground scene. Most of the album deals with our untimely end in visions of sadistic darkness. Dark twisted sadistic visions of life are what the album is aimed at. The album unsurprisingly is filled with twisted dark humor and dark themes such as life & death, religion, and the occult. The mood of this album is “a calm before the storm” type of mood. It’s a “darkened mist” total eclipse. The album prepares us for the Second Coming.

George Tortorelli ‎– TranceMission album review

TranceMission is an appropriate album perfect for a therapy class or an emotional healing session. Or for any healing session for that matter. This music will bring you back to a very relaxed, calm state of being. The most notable instrument used on this album is the Shakuhaci. Enjoy the soothing music of zither and flute.

George Tortorelli ‎– Rites Of Passage album review

Rites Of Passage is an album that was born on winds of music and is a rite of passage through the emotions of the heart. These contemporary compositions were inspired by ancient bamboo flute compositions. Ancient sound meets contemporary sound on this George Tortorelli album. Everything on here is incredibly relaxing beautiful music This music will bring you back to a very relaxed, calm state of being.

Ancient sound meets contemporary sound on the song Bamboo Rain. Multi-instrumentalist George Tortorelli uses a bamboo flute on the song Bamboo Rain. The flute solo is both sooting and calming. The calming nature of the flute is quite subtle.

Mirage, by far, is the longest composition in terms of duration for this album. The Maid of Coolmoor is a George Tortorelli flute solo that is 4½ minutes long. The flute solo is both sooting and calming. Autumn Light is quite similar to a Fleetwood Mac song. The rain in the background of Eclipse is quite smooth and settling. However the grand piano playing in the background gives this song a sad vibe as if somebody died.

Adic - Ain’t No Love album review

Both genres of jazz and soul meet rap on this album by Adic. Soul meets rap on Ain’t No Love making the album a soul rap album. Adic - Ain’t No Love is a Shreveport rap classic. This album is Shreveport rap at its finest. Adic is Always Def In Competition from Shreveport, Louisiana, US. The album was released locally on cassette only in 1993 for the independent ADIC label.

The album Ain’t No Love is about how people have no love for each other these days. It also deals how people are heartless these days. Ain’t No Love searches for the solution of happiness. Adic rakes it back to the roots on this album. The album’s title is solely based off of and inspired by the Bobby Bland jazz ballad Ain’t No Love In The Heart of City. That is where the inspiration for the album title must have come from.

What Makes You Want To Want To Lie To Me is a sad heartbreaking love song with an Enya-esque sample of What Makes You Want To Want To Lie To Me by Merge. As a matter of fact, the whole song entirely relies on the sample of What Makes You Want To Want To Lie To Me by Merge. Pay attention closely to musical notes playing from the harp and you’ll notice.

The change in the sound quality is noticeably huge. Volume is set at a much higher level than all the other songs on the album. What Makes You Want To Want To Lie To Me is a sad heartbreaking love song that hits right in the feels. It’s one of those down and out songs.

The production level and sound quality get lower for some reason on 3 Bad Brothers. Notice how low the bass is reduced. There is a huge change in the sound quality. There is a huge treble reduction in the sound quality. It seems as if the freestyle 3 Bad Brothers was not mastered on a professional level in terms of sound quality. The samples are crazy! Yet they are both fitting. 3 Bad Brothers is a def lyrical freestyle competition of 3 Adic members.

Now the reason why there is a huge sudden change in the sound quality for the freestyle 3 Bad Brothers is because 3 Bad Brothers was recorded in 1992. Production in 1992 was probably not as technologically advanced as it was in 1993. The 3 Bad Brothers track was recorded on a 4 track cassette deck.

The song Ain’t No Love is a classic song. The song Ain’t No Love is entirely based off a sample from Ain’t No Love In The Heart of City by Bobby Bland which is probably the inspiration for the album title must have came from. In particular, this song holds down the weight of this album meaning that this song is a highlight track for this album.

Ain’t No Love is about how people have no love and are heartless these days. People are heartless these days. We as humans are not as compassionate as we should be. We are not compassionate as we once were. Just look at the world. This beginning sentence “Just look at the world.” gives us a foreshadowing into our grim looking future. That sentence alone gives us an insight into our grim future.

Adic states that black people are getting killed in the city streets of inner cities and urban communities. Many killings of black do happen when living in an urban community. Murder, homicide, and genocide are well prevalent in many inner cities. Adic raps about crime that plagues inner cities and drugs that effect peoples mood stability.
Adic tells us where we should be as a human race. Adic raps on debating issues that effect quality of living. Homelessness, poverty, and crime are enormous issues that effect the quality of living in America. These issues effect quality of living standards.

Damn It Feels Good is an upbeat swing jazz ballad of which Adic raps about how the quality of living in America would be in the group’s vision of a perfect world. Damn It Feels Good is an upbeat swing jazz ballad that has a positive vibe to it very much similar to 80s and 90s pop. You can definitely hear that upbeat 90s pop sound in Damn It Feels Good. The song itself is filled with both negative and positive themes.

Adic makes pro black statements at the very beginning of Damn It Feels Good. The group Adic tells black people in America to be proud of their race. That is their stance on racial pride. Pro-black is where and what Adic wants to be at. It’s about proud of being black. This tells us where the group Adic is on pro-black stances.

Adic raps about how the quality of living in America would be in the group’s vision of a perfect world. There would be no homelessness. There would be no poverty. Starvation would become a thing of the past. Abortion would become a thing of the past too. Adic states that there should be no crime. Everyone would be living in peace and harmony. But Adic knows that it’s too much to ask for.

Adic wants the following, “Everyone would live in peace and harmony.” The message Adic is trying to get across is wanting everyone to live in peace and harmony. Adic wants everyone to live in peace and harmony. The message is quite simple.

Check Yourself is another def freestyle by Adic! (A lyrical freestyle at that.) All 3 members of Adic rap lyrics of fire. It’s another lyrical freestyle!

Don't Dial My Beeper Bitch is a 6 minute long song that has a sex rap feel similar to what you would hear or expect from AMG. Adic is tired of these females dialing their beepers (that’s pagers for you youngsters out there) hitting them up with nonsense. So ultimately Adic gives them the payback!

Twisted Black - The Life of Tommy Burns album review

At one point during the mid-2000s is when Twisted Black (Tommy Burns III) was in his prime with street fame in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the most sought after rap artist in Texas during the 2000s decade. This album was a catalyst that launched his street fame in Forth Worth and eventually Texas. His tales are personal testimonies of hustling and street life. Twisted Black strays away from the hype of mainstream rap. He is bold in his raps. His real life accounts of survival have earned him respect across the South (Southern United States). Nothing but that gutter sound!

Twisted Black describes his need to let it be known on the track Still Hood. He lets it be known to everyone that he is still hood regardless no matter what. DL and Tracy Nelson produced Still Hood, but DL takes the credit and spotlight for production of Still Hood.

Walk in My Shoes takes us as listeners on a journey through the life of Twisted Black. His tales are personal testimonies of hustling and street life. It gives us a perspective on Twisted Black. The track I Got You was inspired by the movie Scarface for Life which incidentally and ironically features Scarface of the Geto Boys.

Legendary yet overlooked DJ Goldfinger produced Tell Me How You Feel. Ain’t No King is a Lil Flip diss where Twisted Black disses T.I. as well. Twisted Black does a beautiful job rapping on the track Beautiful with 3R labelmate Yashar.

J. Cole - KOD album review

It’s 2018 and J. Cole is back with a brand new spanking album! The album was released exclusively under Roc Nation in April 2018 with streaming provided by TIDAL as this album is a digital download album. According to hiphopdx.com, KOD racked up 4.2 million streams in its first day on Spotify.
.
However this J. Cole album has a more different sound. One way to describe the sound for this album is experimental. This is the sound that we are not used to from J. Cole. However that is not necessarily bad. KOD showcases J. Cole’s maturity was keeping subject material fresh with a young audience. On this album, J. Cole uses storytelling skills that similar in comparison to Kendrick Lamar.

The legend J. Cole wrote and produced the entirety of the album himself. All these songs of his are fire! Nowadays rappers can’t even write their own songs or lyrics let along produce beats. Half of these rappers don’t eve write their own lyrics.

J. Cole pays homage to jazz music by incorporating jazz and rap on the song ATM. The beats may be a bit unbalanced with the large piano in the background, but you will grow accustomed to like the song. Yes the lyrics are repetitive are annoying to some.

The beats are fire on the song Photograph. However the song seems to give away a sad vibe throughout the entirety of the song. Photograph deals with the modern horror of pursuing romance online. Especially with social media. An online romance goes downhill.

Once an Addict (Interlude) explored the topics of drug addiction and drug abuse. Once an Addict (Interlude) is a response to rap’s ongoing obsession with Promethazine and Xanax. The whole interlude is an anti-drug PSA announcement.
