Thelma Houston - Qualifying Heat album review

Qualifying Heat surely deserves its title because this album is hot! Each additional song is filled with a flare of pop music. The Qualifying Heat album crossed over into the pop market in the 1980s ultimately making Qualifying Heat a success. The Qualifying Heat album featured the Top 10 R&B hit You Used To Hold Me So Tight. Her breakthrough success with MCA led her to chart in high numbers on the BillBoard.

This Houston is not related to Whitney, but this woman has a lot of musical history in her background. (Some pop fans think Thelma Houston is related to Whitney Houston, but that’s not the case.) The album can be noted for the early Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis production sound and style.

House Of Krazees ‎– Home Sweet Home (2003 Remastered Edition) album review

House Of Krazees ‎– Home Sweet Home was on cassette only in 1993 on the Latnem Records label pressed up in a limited amount of 300 copies. Due to a lack of funding the album was only released on cassette. This is the album that made the HOK group legendary in the Detroit rap scene. This is what started it all. HOK became a household name in horrorcore rap.

It was in August 2003 during the The Green Book Tour that Twiztid released reissues of "Home Sweet Home" and other HOK albums on their own label Majik Recordz (which is now Majik Ninja Entertainment). Some CD pressings don't have the Majik Recordz logo on the back. The 2003 edition of Home Sweet Home is a repress that has been reissued and remastered a number of times throughout the years.

HOK invites us to embark a journey. The destination is homebound as we enter the home sweet home! We as the listeners are destined and bound to take a trip through hell through hellish sounds of horrorcore rap. Always believe.

Rap meet rock on the song Evil That Men Do making the song a rap-rock song by using a rap-rock combination. The sample used is Man In The Box by Alice In Chains. Using a sample from the rock band Alice In Chains was a genius idea! Because what other rap group has used samples of Alice In Chains in their songs?

Dark Images is a classic track with a classic beat. It's shit needed to be played during Halloween for the thrills.

2 Sins - Represent Your City single review

2 Sins - Represent Your City was released on cassette as a single in 1997. Explicit gangsta rap from the streets meets gruesome horrorcore rap on this 2 Sinz single. The sounds are nothing short or sweet. The single is violent in nature of course. Death rap and horrorcore both meet each other as well. The group represents the horrorcore rap scene for Detroit, Michigan also Esham among others.

Our Anthem (Sins4Life) is the 2 Sinz anthem for the EP. Our Anthem (Sins4Life) appears on the 2 Sinz - Devilz Night: Let The City Burn single as Sins 4 Life. 2 Sinz also had went under the names 2 Sins and Two Sins throughout the 1990s and 2000s. Even the 2010s.

The vocals on this version seem to have a more weird reverberated touch to them as opposed to other versions of Devilz Night on the single Devilz Night: Let The City Burn. Low Life messed around with the reverb setting while he was producing the Sins 4 Life anthem back in 1994. Sins 4 Life was recorded in 1994 explicitly for the 2 Sinz - Represent Your City EP was released.

A Taste Of Death is a death rap track written by all 3 members of 2 Sins. The track deals with death hence the sad mood and vibe for its setting that takes place. Unsurprisingly the track is death themed. It is both a death rap and horrorcore rap track simultaneously at the same time. A Taste Of Death is similar to I Wish I Was Dead from the Devilz Night: Let The City Burn single in 1995 and Feel Tha Pain from the 2 Sinz  ‎– Feel Tha Pain single.

Represent Your City is similar to Our Anthem (Sins4Life) in subject matter. 2 Sins tells you to represent your city no matter where you are from. My Hate 4a Hoe is a rap track filled with misogyny against women.

2 Sinz - Devilz Night: Let The City Burn album review

2 Sinz - Devilz Night This was the most controversial 2 Sinz single to date that sparked a sizable outrage with Detroit politicians and city officials. City officials condemned the album for its subject matter and material. It was mainly the track Devilz Night: Let The City Burn that got attention from politicians and city officials to condemn the single. It got to the point where city officials attempted to ban its release, but couldn’t due to the First Amendment in the United States Constitution.

At the time of single release, the then Detroit city mayor Coleman You had a chance to listen to snippets of the cassette single and he called the Devilz Night single the most violent record he has ever heard. 2 Sinz responded back to him by saying, "If you grew up in hell, how else could you be?”. This is exactly how 2 Sinz responded to the news media.

Although longtime fans refer to this recording as an EP, 2 Sins officially states that Devilz Night: Let The City Burn is clearly a single. It is due to the number of tracks and longevity of its recording duration that fans among others refer to 2 Sinz - Devilz Night: Let The City Burn as an EP.

On the track Devilz Night: (Let The City Burn) is where 2 Sinz idolizes and glories the Detroit tradition of Devils Night. 2 Sinz rap group idolizes and glorifies the crimes of arson, destruction of property, criminal trespass, and vandalism throughout the entirety of the track. Devils Night is a Detroit pastime tradition. Devils Night came and had stemmed from the 1967 riots. The people of Detroit did this because the government still treats us like slaves.

At the very beginning, 2 Sinz plans to let the city burn. They grab the fuckin' gasoline and let the city burn! Lighters are in their hands and they are down to do whatever. Halloween eve is the day people get together. A bunch of crazy fools. Take a look around. They could care less about curfew. Torture the weak so they all know the deal by causing pain towards others.

Later in the track is when 2 Sinz plans to set fire to the church. Everybody in that bitch is gonna burnt too. Happy Halloween as you stare at the sight They gonna show these muthafuckas how to do it right. Lethal is the name that you hear when nothin' goes right. Burn it with kerosene. Can you hear the screams?

I Wish I Was Dead is a “Taste Of Death”. The track deals with depression hence the sad mood and vibe for its setting that takes place. Unsurprisingly the track is death themed. I Wish I Was Dead is both a death rap and horrorcore rap track simultaneously at the same time.

Here is an example of a verse dealing with depression.:
when I tried to talk didn't nobody try to listen
so don't be surprised when my ass come up missing

Here are some verses showcasing death rap.:

death is promised to me
life i cant go thru wit it
so let me drown in my own body fluid

when I tried to talk didn't nobody try to listen
so don't be surprised when my ass come up missing

Sins 4 Life is the 2 Sinz anthem for the single. Sins 4 Life appears on 2 Sinz - Represent Your City single as Our Anthem (Sins4Life). 2 Sinz also had went under the names 2 Sins and Two Sins throughout the 1990s and 2000s. Back when Mack Ten was a part of 2 Sins. Even the 2010s.

The vocals on this version seem to have a weird reverberated touch to them as opposed to other versions of Devilz Night. Low Life messed around with the reverb setting while he was producing the Sins 4 Life anthem back in 1994. Sins 4 Life was recorded in 1994 around the same time the 2 Sinz - Represent Your City single was released.

A Piece Of My Mind was recorded in 1994. For those who did not know, A Piece Of My Mind was the successor to Night Creeper. Night Creeper was the demo version of A Piece Of My Mind. This version is a lot shorter with alternate lyrics. A Piece Of My Mind came from an angry persons perspective.

2 Sinz experiments with the occult on Dark Lords/Ouija Boards. Occult culture meets horrorcore rap and gangsta rap on Dark Lords/Ouija Boards. Mental Pressure is when relationships go wrong. That happens too often. Mental Pressure samples Compton's Most Wanted - Hoodrat.

The group 2 Sinz was inspired by Freddy Krueger horror movies when they wrote Comin’ To Get Ya. The elements of horrorcore rap are prevalent to this track. 2 Sinz portays a message that the worlds gonna end. It’s just a matter of time.
