Big Samad Sefiane - Spontaneous 2003 album review

According to Big Samad Sefiane from Casablanca, Morrocco, the Spontaneous album is and has a combination of heavy bass, disco, techno, trance, electronic, and comedy rap. His music is a mixture of white boy rap and comedy. These are catchy tune with entertaining lyrics. Rap that has a comedic sound with an upbeat rhythm. Most of these songs are top quality radio-friendly songs. His rhymes can change your mood. His image is unique. Spontaneous is for the big bass lovers out there. Where words fail, music speaks.

The production is top notch! Heavy bass compensates for the lackluster lyrics. He needs to work on his final master remixes and change the beats a little more. His raps don’t always match up with the beats or fit in correctly. If you enjoy the production side of things, then you will enjoy this album.

Hip hop meets dance music on the song Cocoa Dance. According to Big Samad Sefiane, it’s a hip hop dance groove. House meets deep bass with a heavy percussion selection. It’s the type of song you would expect to hear while playing a Sonic video game trying to beat level 1 or level 3. It’s the type of song you would expect to hear while playing a Sonic video game due to its fast upbeat pace and rhythm that matches the sound.

The single Rhymester was his first release fooling around in a kids studio. Rhymester came from the single called I Got The Crystals I Got The Pistols in 2003. Now I Got The Crystals I Got The Pistols was one of Big Samad Sefiane’s first demos that included the clean classic rap song called Rhymester. Time and energy was put into Rhymester obviously.

I Got The Crystals I Got The Pistols is a classic track among Big Samad Sefiane fans. In fact, I Got The Crystals I Got The Pistols was both a single and a demo. The I Got The Crystals I Got The Pistols demo is what ultimately led the track itself to be released as a separate single along with the track Rhymester. This is the updated version with clean funny rap that is pure comedy.

My teachers are horrified is a comedic track filled with heavy bass. The track has an upbeat rhythm and is funny. The song itself has got rhyme to it.My teachers are horrified has sound the big bass lovers will enjoy. My teachers are horrified and so am I.

Big Samad’s Remixes is a mega melody of all songs on the Spontaneous album such as Cocoa Dance, Pure Base, and Spontaneous. It is a hodgepodge of electronic soundscapes.

Sound of Your Teardrops is a repetitive song with heavy bass that will tear up your speakers if you don’t use a sub-woofer. A heavy bass line overlaps the entire song. It is a hodgepodge of teardrops and rain. Ironically no rain sound effects were used.

T-Lye - Igostakickit / Street Wize single review

I Gotstakickit was a demo single released on cassette in 1994 from Sick Bay Productions. E-Moe produced on I Gostakickit and Street Wize. He produced and engineered the beats for both songs as well. T. McNeal and S. Gardiner were the investors for Sick Bay Productions and of course this demo cassette.

I Gotstakickit is about the day in a life of T-Lye. It's about how T-Lye kicks it with the Sick Bay Crew. It is filled with super heavy G-Funk bass along with that Bay Area sound. Think Mobb Music and gangsta rap filled with hip hop beats. Nothing but Mobb Music.

T-Lye was 16 years old and already kicking it like an OG when she recorded Igotstakickit with E-Moe and Tasha B (Tasha Brooks). She was in an original state of mind.

E-Moe did the drum programming on the I Gotstakickit track. Any beats done by E-Moe are always on point. Big Hollis has done stellar production too. Female vocalist Tasha B. makes an appearance on this song. Tasha B. reminds me of a little of R&B.

Street Wize is a 3 1/2 minute track about T-Lye's knowledge of the streets. T-Lye kicks game to her audience on this track. Now this version of Street Wize is not the 1993 version from her Street Wize demo that included a soul sample. This version of Street Wize used beats E-Moe had produced and engineered.

Living the mobstyle lifestyle since the age of 7 and now T-Lye’s 15. She spent 9 years without the help and love from her mother. T-Lye be slangin’ that crack rock right down the street. Flipping that check every 1st and 15th day of the month. T-Lye has to have mail because she can’t live without it. She’s got a kid now and can’t work ain’t about it. T-Lye would rather live a criminal lifestyle cooperating with illegal business to earn an income. A fresh pair of Jordan’s are way too important for T-Lye. In other words her priorities are fucked up.

Fools be trying to jack T-Lye. But fools can’t catch T-Lye as she’s rolling in E-Moe’s Coup with a .390 on her side. Street life is hard. Her father never taught her nothing so she became street wize. Slanging that heavy weight of yayo and crack rock is what she does and is known for.

Her dope spot started getting hot so she figured that it’s time to stop. She doesn’t want to show her face to an undercover cop or another cop. So she found herself another dope spot for her narcotics ring out in the boondocks. Obviously the boondocks is a preferable choice since nobody’s out there. Eventually T-Lye went on to get her education. She is on time and never short of her medication. Her occupation was a sworn drug dealer, but now she’s going straight while making money. It feels great. E-Moe tells no lies. You gotta be street wize. Coming from the Sick Bay you gotta be street wize.

T-Lye is deep in this music thang. She has a talented flow of rap and she well aware of this. T-Lye shows awareness in her raps. She hits the studio every chance she gets. She’s nothing nice once she gets on the mic. So now you fools know.

I don't know what went down with Sick Bay Productions or why T-Lye did not release a full album, but whatever went down with Sick Bay Productions remains a mystery. Maybe it was just for fun or maybe the money wasn't right at the time. It's such a such shame that artists like this get overlooked. This single was too short for me and the fans.

T-Lye - Street Wize single review

Street Wize was a demo released on cassette in 1993 from Sick Bay Productions. E-Moe produced on I Gostakickit and Street Wize. E-Moe was responsible for the production of those 2 songs. T. McNeal and S. Gardiner were the investors for Sick Bay Productions.

T-Lye was on Sick Bay Productions along with E-Moe, Sicx, and Big Hollis as well. They were a part of Sick Bay Productions. Sick Bay Productions had artists from the Bay Area and Sacramento. Sick Bay was active from 1994 to 1998. E-Moe and Big Hollis did the productions on I Gostakickit and Street Wize. T-Lye was 15 when she recorded this demo. T-Lye is an artist from Sacramento, California.

Death Row is a dark eerie track with an angelic chorus in the background. The angelic chorus in the background helps the song give off an eerie vibe. The track is a representation of gangsta rap at its finest.

T-Lye has a job drug dealing with niggaz on the street. She is way clean so police can’t frame her for hers crimes or detained. Don’t fuck around with T-Lye or make her angry. She will start aiming to shoot you. They will put a tag on your toe and you’ll be another victim of death row buried 6 feet in the dirt while T-Lye is on the streets putting in much work.

Now we are in pursuit of a high speed chase throughout town. T-Lye is getting chased by the fucking county blues. E-Moe is letting loose with a Tech 9. One down and hella more to go.

Street Wize is a 3 1/2 minute track about T-Lye's knowledge of the streets. T-Lye kicks game to her audience on this track. She speaks up on the harsh realities of street life. E-Moe provides and contributes a bit of spoken word on this track of hers.

Now this version of Street Wize is not the sample free version of Street Wize that appeared on the I Gotsakickit demo single that was released in 1994. The 1994 version did not include the soul sample used in this version of Street Wize. It used beats E-Moe had produced and engineered. This version of Street Wize is the 1993 version.

Living the mobstyle lifestyle since the age of 7 and now T-Lye’s 15. She spent 9 years without the help and love from her mother. T-Lye be slangin’ that crack rock right down the street. E-Moe explains that out here on the streets is either live or die. You have to sell dope to make it. If you receive welfare, you are not going to make it in life.

E-Moe tells us the streets are not the same anymore these days. You can’t slang dope anymore. It’s way too hard. So now we have to slang these beats instead and keep on becoming street wise. You know. It’s like this. Sick Bay be coming Street Wize.

T-Lye is deep in this music thang. She has a talented flow of rap and she well aware of this. T-Lye shows awareness in her raps. She hits the studio every chance she gets. She’s nothing nice once she gets on the mic. So now you fools know.

Lil Breazy - Checkmate 2003 album review

This album was released on Iced Down Records and distributed by Select-O-Hits in 2003. Bad Guy, Check Yourself, and Everybody's Ballin' are the singles! Lil Breazy is from Austin, Texas.

Let Me Look At You is fast uptempo soul rap song featuring Big Grind and Ajax of Sam Huston Boyz (Sam Houston Boyz). Staying paid is the only thing on Lil Breazy’s agenda. He’s click-clackin’ and stackin’ up money into his account. Lil Breazy only represents the real. On this track, Lil Breazy separates the real from the fake.

Everybody's Ballin' is the hit single for this album! This is one of those party on the boat dock at the top of the boat jams. This jam will make you want to get up and dance! This is the bomb!! A rockin’ Stapleton Sisters sample is used. This song had house parties in Austin rockin' out back in 2002! Everybody's Ballin' had everyone partyin’ back in 2002. If you were educated and informed about the social scene and party scene here in Austin, Texas, you’d know about this song.

Mash 4 Skrilla is a very Lone Star Texan song. The country guitar on the high note gives out that Texas Country feel. Lil Breezy tells us on the brooding chorus lines that he’s not going to die being broke. Rap game or dope game he’s in it to win it. Lil Breazy’s a certified track killa. He kills on every track of his sophomore album.

Time 2 Shine showcases both Lil Breazy and ICE's lyrical talent. I love the vocoder used on Time 2 Shine. This song was so cold. Both artists had the game on freeze. ICE was on ATV Recordz, Isolated Records, Madd Creole Entertainment, and Iced Down Records. She was from Austin, Texas.

Bad Guy and Check Yourself have that Scarface movie feel with that heavy bass and heavy drums. So does Don't Fuck With Me which features Lil Flip and has a Scarface movie sample.

Just A Player is a slow downtempo dreamy soul song featuring Big Chop and Cin-A-Mon of ATV Recordz. Just A Player is a soul rap song. This song is not exactly the best Lil Breazy song nor is it his best work compared to all his other masterpieces.

Whoever told you G-Funk and Gangsta Rap was dead, they're wrong! It just moved to the South. Listen to You Know How We Do It featuring Big Pokey from Wreckshop Records outta Houston, Texas!  It has that old 90s G-Funk sound. This is like a From Austin to Houston collaboration. It's an Ice Cube cover song. This song is a new song not featured on the 2002 edition.

You should buy this album if you already haven't!! This album is off the hook!  It's that good! Take my word for it. It's too bad that Lil Breazy's career never took off. Austin Hip Hop/Rap always gets overlooked!

[The 2003 edition of this album was distributed by Select-O-Hits as the original 2002 edition was distributed by Southwest Wholesale. The reason why this edition of the Checkmate album was distributed by Select-O-Hits is because Southwest Wholesale went bankrupt in 2003.]

Da Misses - Realism Religion Album Sampler album review

The album Realism Religion was supposed to be released in 2003 on Trump Teezee Records (trumptz) and distributed by Kevin Johnson’s Black Armor Records. However none of that happened because Lena Renae Coleman aka female rapper Da Misses had been arrested for attempted murder and assault with a firearm on David Mitchell aka rapper Ballin A$$ Dame. The album sampler for Realism Religion was released online from the Trump Teezee Records YouTube channel on July 21, 2016. Da Misses is from Sacramento, California.

I Use Game was produced by Big Will of Trump Teezee Records and Cashout Beats. KA$H is the featured artist on this track during the second verse. Da Misses comes with a “me against the world” attitude on the track. The track has bass that will rattle your speakers! She started rapping a long time ago in a shack with writing deadly poetry. She started rapping when she was a little girl. She would rap about the everyday drama that was in her life.

Da Misses comes straight and does her thing with the music on the song Realism Religion. The track is laced with a funky guitar rhythm and a bangin’ beat that will rattle your speakers!

Da Misses uses a flow of fierce lyrical delivery in her raps on the song So Serious. So Serious is a Da Misses solo which was recorded for her Realism Religion album in 2003.

Bloody Mary - On In The Club single review

On In The Club is a single filled club music perfect for the dance floor or to boogie to. Although not too similar to dance rap. West Coast rap meets dance music on this Bloody Mary single. Bloody Mary adds a bit of that East Coast flavor to this single with her accent and vocals.

The 2 songs from this single were recorded in 1998 during Bloody Mary’s music stint while being singed to Mark Taylor of Kool & The Gang’s label Taylor Made Records outta East Palo Alto, California. Both songs were recorded and mixed at Quality Studios in East Palo Alto, California. Andre Taylor was the producer for this single. Tebo Thibeaux was the person responsible fo the guitar selection on both songs. The CD single was released on Taylor Made Records in 1999.

On In The Club was a dance floor inspired rap song inspired by Michael Jackson - Billie Jean which the whole song samples of course. The song On In The Club is something that will want to make you get up on the dance floor and boogie. No wonder the song is called On In The Club (P.M.S.). Honestly the song should have called If It’s On In The Club (P.M.S.) or If It’s On In The Club (DJ Play My Shit). Tebo is responsible for the funky guitar notes you hear.

Wherever We At is a dark club music filled rap song featuring Kid Frost and JT of N2Deep. Wherever We At is perfect for a late night creep or a solo creep. JT of N2Deep stands out the most with vocals on this song. Stacking skrill seems to be the objective of the song.

*Bloody Mary is none other than Nini X aka Rajni Faulks.
*Tebo Thibeaux is Tebo on bass.

Candy Fresh - We Wanna Get Paid (Up The Money) single review

This single/EP was released on vinyl only from Two Sweet Records from Austin, Texas in 1990. Baby Luke and Wink D produced this single/EP for Candy Fresh. This EP has that Miami bass sound laced with dance music.

Now this ones for my ladies out there! Ladies have wants and needs the same as men do. It's not always about the men. I'm tired of the same ol' same ol'. Ladies wanna get paid on We Wanna Get Paid (Up The Money). We Wanna Get Paid (Up The Money) has that Miami bass sound also!

We Wanna Get Paid (Up The Money) is a response to and a parody of 2 Live Crew - Me So Horny. In fact this song was the female response to 2 Live Crew - Me So Horny.

Do The Get Busy is a fast paced upbeat dance electronic rap song. This rocked the parties in Austin back in the 90s. This was often played at house parties. The bass is strong. Get Busy has that Miami bass sound. Probably going at 130 bpm.

This version of Do The Get Busy is a remix of ‘Wink D featuring Candy Fresh - Get Busy' originally released on 'Insane Beat Records' a year prior. This version was released as a remix due to a copyright conflict with Hot Productions, Inc.

Candy's Groove is an instrumental track sampling James Brown Getup Offa That Thang & The Big Payback. The track is only 3 minutes long though. Candy's Groove is actually the instrumental for Revenge (I'm Mad).
