Mixerr Album Reviews #52

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will do an album review on S. H. Dudley - The Village Choir.

This single album was made in 1899. Which was released on Victor. (Which at the time I think was owned by partner-rival record company Columbia Records. Victor is now owned by Victor Entertainment, Inc. in Japan. Although I think Victor has both headquarters located in both located in Japan and the US. Not too sure how Columbia and Sony got into the picture.)

Anyway, for those who do not know, Sherman Houston Dudley was a well known African-American vaudeville performer and a theatre entrepreneur. He had gained his notability in the late 19th and early 20th century as a composer and performer of ragtime songs, Dudley was of the first African-Americans to combine business with theater. Which had made him notable.

I rate this album, The Village Choir, 5/5*****.
