Mixerr Album Reviews #141

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will review this dope ass compilation VA - Down South Playaz Click. This compilation was released on Big Ballin' Recordz and Youngsta Records (Youngsta/Big Ballin') in 1998. Nino has artists from San Antonio, Waco, Houston, Austin, El Paso, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Odessa, Midland, Tyler, Port Arthur, Big Spring, Lubbock, and El Paso. (Some song may or may not be included on the CD or cassette versions. So results may vary.)

If you's a big balla, put yo hands in the air on Big Ballin'. 1998 was a great year and a new begging for Big Ballin' Recordz. Nino is/was the CEOs of Big Ballin' Recordz. Nino and K-Sam represent the Balla's Anthem on this track. Big Ballin' is choppin' game to you Gs out there! G-Funk ain't dead! It just went to the South. Black and K-Ski did the song Whatcha Gone Do?

The OG Lil Black shows us how he's runnin' with dem Gangstaz on the song Gangstaz. For those who don't know, Lil Black is from Elgin, Texas. It's NE of Austin. Lil Black chops game to all the BGs, YGs, and OGs out there. Flossin' up in Austin. All we need now is some swisher sweets. Anyway, CKC is the group featured on this song.  It is a shorter version than the original song that was on the Dark Territory EP in 1996. Nino talks about how he manages his finances and what it's like being a convicted felon on Last 2 Dollaz.

The next song, Geto Dream, is by my favorite artists from SA, Lil Sin and Nino! RicĂ© sings the background vocals.  Here we talk about tales from the hood, guns, drugs and other related subjects to this song. Hoes In Da Hoes is dedication to all the hoes in the hood. Nino of P.K.O. does his solo shit on this song.
Dem Boyz did a song called A Comp Up. Dem Boy have that Jamaican flow in the vocals.
Up next, P.K.O. (Nino & K-Sam) do a song called Both Wayz, which is so playalistic that it's  song that you'd light up a doobie and watch a porno to. It's THAT playalistic!!! The main themes are sex and lesbianism!! An unknown local rap duo outta Waco called Deuce Ana Quarta did a song called Case Of Funk. They did a show in San Antonio. Dope G-Funk song!

It would have been dope if artists such as Twice Tha Power, Lethal T, Magic Mark, Curl Earl, Sweet P, Underground Committee, Tribe 46, Fade Dogg, Princess Kaos, Denise James, Sharon Lincoln, Jr. Boy, and C-Lo. It would have been dope also if  producers such as Finnesse 1, DJ Devastator, and Dre'Mo contributed. Too bad they didn't for whatever reason.
Get this compilation if you can because it is long out of print! You will not regret it! You'll love it!
I rate this compilation, Down South Playaz Click, 5/5*****!
