Mixerr Album Reviews #157

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will review Took-N-Bone. Took-N-Bone was a one time rap group from Flint, Michigan in 1993 who had a cassette EP by same name of the group. The cassette was self-titled with 4 songs. This EP was released independently on TOR.

Basically Hit was a diss song towards The Dayton Family. I have no clue why Took-N-Bone dissed TDF. It was an old school Hip Hop song. It had that feel even TDF did not respond until they released What's On My Mind? On Po' Broke Records and Relativity Records. TDF songs that dissed Took-N-Bone were Oxydol, Watch Yo Ass, and Niggaz Don't Play.

There is no Intro or an Outro which to me is really weird. But don't let my thoughts persuade you from buying this album. That is if you have the money because this tape goes for $200 nowadays.

To me Took-N-Bone was using outdated Hip Hop sounds by 90s standards. Which to me was a bit cookie cutter.

I rate this self titled EP 2/5**.
