Mixerr Album Reviews #227

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will re-review the Fruited EP by Malik-Bo from Southeast San Diego. I made some errors! This EP was released on cassette in 1995 on Choke 1 Records. For those who don't know, this EP was Malik-Bo's very first debut solo.  Props to browniemack_sd for helping me out with the info on this cassette! Props to Junebug Spada (Junebug Spade) as well! Sounds like jazz as well. Rap too.

Crack a Smile is a 2 or 3 minute long song. Fresh off a Grind reminds me of the track called A Pound of Game with JB Spade.
Plenty of Love is how Malik-Bo shows love to all the hoes and all the homies from SESD, however this track is marketed more towards the hoes. It a perfect track to play in those crowded clubs with mixed crowds.

619 is a dedication track to the whole city of San Diego. It's almost the same as Plenty of Love. (Well at least to me.) SE Ballin could have been on this cassette since it was made in 1994. I do think SE Ballin would be appropriate for this cassette because it fits the theme of this cassette EP. Malik-Bo should have added SE Ballin to this cassette EP.

The graphics and album artwork for this album is very basic black & white in 16 bit. There's nothing wrong with that for any artists who are just starting out on the music scene with limited funding. Of course this was the 90s so the standards were different then they are in the 2010s era.

I rate this EP, Fruited, 5/5*****!
