Mixerr Album Reviews #419

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will review Bone & Face - Armageddon! from Hip Entertainment and Boomin' Records! Bone & Face are Anthony L. "Bone" Reaves (Bone of Took-N-Bone fame) and Darren Campbell (Rev. Darren Campbell). Bone & Face was a rap group from Flint, Michigan. This was released on cassette in 1998. Think of the Rap/Soul crossover genre as you are listening to this album.

Bone & Face are dropping bombs like Vietnam on Armageddon! In fact, Bone & Face are hitting hard like Armageddon
on Armageddon!. Both members of Bone & Face show how they can display their lyrical styles on Armageddon! and can prove that they are using superb styles of techniques using their wordplay techniques.

On and on till the break of dawn. It don't stop and it won't stop on the On And On track. On And On is a smooth R&B/Soul slow jam. Lorrie Coleman of Jake The Flake & Stick-N-Move Records fame is singing in the background vocals on this song. She does a good job performing her singing vocals. Many old school hip hop elements are prevalent on this track. Not mention the gangsta rap elements. Both members of Bone & Face show how they can display their lyrical styles and wordplay techniques on the On And On track as they are rapping. The On And On song is the soul song of this album. On And On is the best track on this album! It is the Bone & Face anthem!

This Life I Live is quite deep and dark as Flint City is. This Life I Live describes the crazy crime ridden lifestyles that both members of Bone & Face are rapping about and displaying. This track only saddens the mood of this album and offers noting but no solution to ending the cycle of poverty which will thus break the lifestyle of living the life of a criminal lifestyle. The bass on This Life I Live is quite deep and dark if I might say so myself. The acid rap elements are present and prevalent on this track.

Flint City is a dark acid rap anthem for the City of Flint. Flint City is home to many corrupt crooks and thugs be getting their money on a daily basis. Almost every street, neighborhood, and schools were mentioned on the Flint City track. The bass is quite deep and dark. This is the last track on this album.

Bone & Face are dropping bombs like Vietnam on this album! The lyrics and beats are dope!
I rate this album, Armageddon!, 5/5*****!!
