Mixerr Album Reviews #510

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will re-review M-80 & Junebug Spade - A Pound of Game from Die Hard Rek and Shiloh Entertainment in 2006 because this album is blazing hot!
Malik-Bo & Junebug Spade are M-80 & Bug Spada on this album. Malik-Bo was known as M-80 way before 2006. Junebug Spade was known as Junebug Spade way before 2006.

What Malik-Bo & Junebug Spade have done is dug back into the archives and put the best of their rap tracks on this compilation album. Pure oldies but goodies! Malik-Bo & Junebug Spade come together as two of the most deadly forces in San Diego hip hop and rap! Their mission is to make San Diego aware of hip hop and rap. Every track on this album is heated and on fire!

On the new song titled Ear Kandy, Malik-Bo & Junebug Spade showcase their more sexual side about their feelings towards women. Ear Kandy is about finding the right women whom Malik-Bo and Junebug Spade deem "ear kandy".

Junebug Spade wants this girl to come over here and put her earlobe on his speaker. Junebug Spade wants to bring the freak out in this girl. Calm your nerves and relax your mind. Fuck off together on this track. Yes Junebug Spade spits fire on this track.

Malik-Bo wants these women and girls to stick it to him. Malik-Bo makes reference and mention to parkin' lot pimpin' and sex of course. Keep it thick. You need some of this! You need some this when you're with Malik-Bo. Cannabis that is! She loved the sex when she was here. Her ear had oozed.

M-80 & Bug Spade spit a pound of game on the track called Game! They are both highly unknown lyrical contenders in San Diego. Both M-80 & Bug Spade have been in the rap game for some time. Junebug Spade has more of a vocal on this track than Malik-Bo. They are revamping their musical sound and style for their clientele of both old and new audiences. The game is work.
M-80 & Bug Spade sure know how to spit a pound of game!

The song called Desire is a fire hot sex rap song! Desire is hot like fire! Yes.
Malik-Bo has the will to win on Desire. Hot like fire! That's how Malik-Bo likes his women. You can ball, have it all and barbecue on the roof. Be at the Hilton drawing pussy. Hard for days. The shit Malik-Bo spits is real heavy. Malik-Bo has the will to win and dominating desire. Hot like fire! Malik-Bo has the will to fire.

You can't stop a hustlin' ass gangsta like Malik. You'll get mopped in the streets with Malik-Bo because he can take 3 on 1 fights and brawls. He can fight 3 people at once with him being the only one standing. M-80 be hittin' switches in his 84 Cutlass in the Southeast side of San Diego. Malik-Bo has heavy nuts. So now he drops LPs on CDs instead.
Bitches come with riches. Like trees. Going down on them it's bound to happen. Be bout it. Malik-Bo been bout it. 619 SD shit. Some OG shit! Malik has the knowledge and power to lead.

You'll love the hard hitting bass and heavy beats on Desire! I sure did. Desire is hot like fire!

Make way G! Move! Malik-Bo is about to prove why SouthEast Gs be blowing up the map trying to put San Diego on the map concerning the music scene, tourism lifestyle, daily life, and crime statistics on this bomb ass rap track SE Ballin'! SouthEast Gs be blowing up the map bomb ass gangsta raps on this track. Forget what the average head says about SESD. Gangs be shooting off fools execution style. Plenty of outsiders want to blend in San Diego scene but you don't want none of these SouthEast OGs. In other words everyone wants to be from San Diego. His homies be off in the cut. His homies are chopping guts and creating turmoil.

Rewind. Malik-Bo takes us back to 1988 where gang rapes happened at house parties where it got frisky when fools step in. 10 milli's should be kept while being crept in the city of San Diego. Other people do get in your business. Fools be ballin' and set trippin' while nark bitches and Feds be their downfall. Niggaz be trippin' too. It's about being put on the game in San Diego.

Now Malik-Bo takes us back to 1994 when this song was written. Fools don't loiter in spot like back in 1988 because in 1994 that would lead up to a parole bust. Hot be the Babylons want Malik-Bo for being an ex-con. Police will want to lock up exo  I don't think so. He doesn't think so. Yeah right! Nigga please!

Malik-Bo is not an ex-con, but police are still racist which often leads Malik-Bo to be harassed by police on hot cases. In other words, the police (San Diego Police Department better known as SDPD) hate Malik-Bo for looking like an ex-con. Nigga please! The police hold Malik-Bo up for the evening even though he has plans. Police search his car looking for narcotics (the product) for disturbing the peace because Malik-Bo has black skin and is an African-American male. The courts want to give Malik-Bo ten years upstate because he has melanin in his skin.
Don't ya'll wanna floss with Malik-Bo in his 84 Cutlass Beach Cruiser in SouthEast San Diego while touring the city of San Diego? Don't ya'll wanna floss with Malik-Bo?

It doesn't matter to Malik-Bo where he is because he cherishes these SouthEast oranges, the music scene, criminal lifestyle, and tourism. Malik-Bo cherishes these SouthEast oranges and tourism lifestyle basically. This one is for the homies. These days people are cold. It's easy for a peezy head nigga that life in San Diego ain't all grimey and gutta.

Oh Malik-Bo even loves it when he hops on the trolley. To get this little nigga and trip this little nigga.
Now it's that bitch named Orko whom Malik-Bo is referring to. Malik-Bo spits game very great as he always does. Malik-Bo spits educational information about the music scene and tourism. He's coming over now. Malik-Bo wants Orko to stay off Motorola cellphone and stop calling him on his cellphone. Orko put Malik-Bo up on this bitch who turned out to be mischievously scandalous or wasn't loyal in the relationship. So as soon as Orko gets off the transit trolley, Malik-Bo will kick his fucking ass real bad! He's gonna get his fuckin' ass kicked!

SESD got good neighborhood mama's and hoes with the drama in their relationships. Battles shot up in the clubs.
Malik-Bo cherishes his friends and family even with all the killer fiends, deadbeat dads, and car jackings it ain't safe but Malik-Bo still loves this place. It ain't nothing but SE Ballin'!

SE Ballin' is about the daily life in SouthEast San Diego that is very combined with the music scene, lifestyle, and tourism lifestyle in San Diego along with the dangers and perils that loom on a daily basis. SE Ballin' is about everyday life happening in San Diego basically. It's about being put on the game in San Diego. The latest news! So peep game!

The only thing I hate about this song is how Malik-Bo dissed Orko on the trolley part of the song. Malik-Bo even had the audacity to call Orko a bitch. I don't know what the beef was between Orko and Malik-Bo, Orko Eloheim is still triv (cool) in my book.

SE Ballin' is a prime example of Jazz Rap with the saxophone, Jazz bass guitar, and the drum set. It's filled with G-Funk too! Think early Onyx, Raekwon, Bahamadia, Main Source, Dream Warriors, Native Nuttz, Killarmy, U-God, and Shyeim. Those are also prime examples of Jazz Rap. Prophet Sativa is the female that sings.

Yes Malik-Bo did us back to 1988. Malik-Bo takes us back to 1988 where an attempted gang rape happened at a house party where it got frisky when fools stepped in. 10 milli's should be kept while being crept in the city of San Diego. Other people do get in your business. Gangs be shooting off all weak ass MCs execution style. His homies are creating turmoil with bullets, killing people, and chopping meat.
Malik-Bo was a prophet way ahead of his time! SE Ballin' is a great track! SE Ballin' is one G-Funk rap track filled with political conciseness hip hop.

M-80 & Junebug Spade should do another collaboration album in the near future when they get a chance because this album was spitten' fire! In fact, the A Pound of Game compilation album has gotten praise in Murder Dog Magazine!
M-80 & Junebug Spade should go back to the roots and dig out more pure oldies throwbacks of gangsta rap freestyles fill ed with hard heavy bass! M-80 & Junebug Spade are the most underrated hip hop/rap group to come out of San Diego along with Vicious Beat Posse, Hound Foundation, MOTU, Tiny Doo & Tiny Beef, West Kraven, Tha S.E.T., South East 1, and Prhyme Suspect. (Some editions of this album have bonus tracks.)

I rate this album, A Pound Of Game, 5/5*****!!
