History of Nantes, France.

Exclusively, the small town of Nantes, France was first settled in 2 BC by the group of early Bretons. Later on, Nantes became home to fisherman and sailors. So that made the small town of Nantes a legendary breeding ground for explorers and adventurers due to its close proximity toward the Atlantic Ocean. Legendary Nantes was once the first port for the country of France. Ocean-bound vessels were manufactured at this established port town.

The harbor was built in 1600 AD. Nantes is located on the Loire River where the harbor is with its docks. Ocean-bound vessels formed the backdrop of Nantes during the 19th century and 20th century. Much so during the 21st century. Ships still come in and out of Nantes to this day.

Not only is Nantes close to the ocean in proximity, but Nantes is the capital of the Brittany providence in France. The small town is filled with prosperous traders along with shipbuilders and shipowners. Nantes, France scholars such as Jules Verne, Alexandre Dumas, and Herbert Lottman.
