Mixerr Album Reviews #593

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I am going to review Jean Grae - Goin’ Crazy for a single review.

Jean Grae is the hardest most versatile female rap vocalist in the music industry. The music industry is afraid of Jean Grae. That’s why she doesn’t have a major record deal. Also Jean Grae is the rawest female rapper next to the Lady of Rage, Heather B., Remy Ma, Lil Kim, Choice, Antoinette, and Rah Digga just to name a few even though there’s more female rappers out there. Her vocals are very raspy. Most of raps are indeed lyrical.

Going Crazy is the A side.

Going Crazy is about what goes on at night that makes Jean Grae go crazy. Jean Grae is walking down an alley at night appearing to be paranoid. Heart is beating fast. It gets colder by the moment. Jean Grae can’t function no more. She’s hearing voices provoking her to fight. It gets hectic. She won’t answer the door because she’s scared.

Going Crazy has that mid 2000s East Coast Hip Hop/Rap sound similar to Rah Digga and Lil Kim. Mostly is lyricism and street rap that being used in this song. Not so much sex rap as similar to Lil Kim however.

You Don't Want It is the AA side.

Jean Grae is Grae back on the track You Don't Want It! Welcome to the mind of Jean Grae.
You Don't Want It is a hard versatile freestyle by Jean Grae. A very East Coast rap freestyle laced with heavy lyricism.
Jean Grae is a maestro in her freestyles such as You Don't Want It and Going Crazy as well as others in her career.

I rate this single, Goin’ Crazy, 5/5*****!!
