Mixerr Album Reviews #998

This is Michael Mixerr. I am reviewing Angie Stone - Mahogany Soul.

Mahogany Soul is another soul album by Angie Stone. This album is what helped launch Angie Stone’s career into the soul music market. Fans of soul music instantly fell in love with this album. Music critics panned this album to be a success. Mahogany Soul was considered a favorite by many countries across the globe. Mahogany Soul is the type of album you would see at Starbucks. It’s that good!

Some people can’t let up long enough to get over love. That’s what Pissed Off is all about. Pissed Off deals with love inside an abusive relationship. Looking at life through an abuser’s point of view, little shit like love doesn’t matter. Your own lover is so pissed off.

Mad Issues deal with abuse at every angle from Angie’s perspective. Opportunity to right your wrong is misused. In other words, the cycle of abuse continues. Opportunity to change is not used. The time has come for you to leave them alone.

You know that time of the month where you get your paycheck and money’s missing? Well that’s what Time Of The Month is about. It’s one big mess after another. Money’s missing and your bills are due now. Yep. It’s that time of the month.

More Than A Woman was a duet with Calvin Richardson. The song was produced by Eddie F and Darren Lighty of Soul Central. The duet was more than a good idea.

I rate this album, Mahogany Soul, 4/5****.
