Mixerr Album Reviews #1,099

This is Michael Mixerr. This afternoon I will review Jasmine Guy - Jasmine Guy.

Studio debut album by Jasmine Guy called Jasmine Guy was released in October 1990 under Warner Bros. Records. The Jasmine Guy album featured 2 hit singles which were Another Like My Lover and Try Me including the minor smash hit Don't Want Money. 2 songs off of the Jasmine Guy album charted inside the Billboard Hot 100. Jasmine Guy had that urban upbeat New Jack Swing sound of the 90s. Despite the Jasmine Guy album being a commercial success, it remains her only album to date as of today. The Jasmine Guy album is one of the dopest New Jack Swing albums from the 1990s by a female artist.

Try Me has that urban upbeat New Jack Swing sound of the 90s which is what made Jasmine Guy popular as both a singer and an actress. Jasmine Guy performed the song Try Me on an episode of Soul Train which had aired on the date of November 17, 1990. (Yes, this is the same actress-singer Jasmine Guy.)

Don't Want Money is about money, love, and materialism. It's materialism blues on Don't Want Money. Don't Want Money is Jasmine Guy telling the man she loves she doesn’t love him for his money. Jasmine is not after his money as she just wants the man she loves to love her. The title to this song sums up and covers pretty much the entire basis for the subject of this song.

I rate this album, Jasmine Guy, 4/5****.
