Mixerr Album Reviews #1,135

This is Michael Mixerr. Today I am going to review Lil Peanutt - Lil Peanutt.

Chattanooga rapper Lil Peanutt was the flagship artist for the World Affiliated label back in 2002. The album became a lukewarm hot commodity in the underground music scene from Tennessee to Texas thanks to help from Select-O-Hits and SOH Networks. The reason why Lil Peanutt had a mild buzz in the Southern United States is because Lil Peanutt’s 2002 album sampler made so much noise that it caught the attention of Bun-B from UGK. Bun-B was all over Lil Peanutt’s 2003 album.

The reminiscent tune Long Time Ago samples Groove With You by The Isley Brothers. Long Time Ago takes us on a nostalgia trip down memory. Switch Da Game samples DeBarge - A Dream. Lil Peanutt switches up his lyrical delivery and flow on Switch Da Game. He is trying to change the game for the new millennium.

I rate this album, Lil Peanutt, 3/5***.
