FM 973 lane expansion begins.

As of May 2, 2017, construction of FM 973 lane expansion is already in the beginning stages as construction has already begun. Contractors from a handful of construction companies have already began construction along the left side of FM 973 all the way from the intersection of FM 973 & Burleson Road up to the intersection of FM 973 & Pearce Lane. Also construction from Pearce Lane to Burleson Road is already in the beginning stages. FM 973 will eventually be expanded into a 4 lane road. Construction work at the intersection of SH 71 & FM 973 has been completed. Construction work alongside SH 71 has been completed. FM 973 alongside the Austin Bergstrom International Airport is being expanded from 2 lanes into 4 lanes.
