This is Michael Mixerr. This afternoon I will review Stan Rogers - Fogarty’s Cove.

Stan Rogers - Fogarty’s Cove album is a much forgotten folk album that is a classic to this day in the folk music scene. Stan Rogers can be noted for his songwriting skills. His lyrics have so much detail to them. His historical authenticity is commendable. Fogarty’s Cove is the best folk album from Nova Scotia, Canada. Fans of folk music will truly enjoy this album.

Barrett’s Privateers is a modern folk music song written in the style of a sea shanty. The song uses a mixed meter by regularly simultaneously back and forth from 4|4 time to 5|4 time. The song is sung in an enchanted manner. Barrett’s Privateers can be noted for its historical authenticity.

Rawdon Hills is a detailed lyrical folk song using imagery describing of the landscape of Nova Scotia, Canada. The landscape of Nova Scotia is surely rugged. That is what the imagery describes. Fans of folk music will truly enjoy this song by Stan Rogers. His lyrics always have so much detail to them to the point that it’s so amazing.

Giant is a rugged folk song about a mixed Irish-Scottish mythical giant. The song takes place on Cape Breton Island which is located in Nova Scotia, Canada. The lyrics describe imagery of the rugged landscape of Cape Breton Island.

I rate this album, Fogarty’s Cove, 4/5****.
