Donald Trump is holding a military parade that is going to cost American taxpayers $92 million dollars and it’s all at the expense of the public. More taxpayer funded fun. Critics and opponents call the parade a waste of money and resources. This Independence Day, the parade will include an Air Force B-2 stealth bomber, F-18 fighter jets, Panzer tanks, and other warplanes conducting flyovers.
If that weren’t enough, Trump now has ordered tanks to be prepared for the upcoming Independence Day parade. The tanks Donald Trump has ordered have DC officials concerned. The tanks used will be damaging roads. Tanks’ steel tracks could ruin city roadways.
Washington DC officials are angered by the idea of a military parade costing $92 million dollars. Council of DC (the DC legislature) has expressed their input on twitter. The Council of DC Twitter account tweeted “Tanks, but no tanks,”. Their tweet received over 1,486 comments and over 2,000 favorites. Several retweets were casted all over twitter within hours.
BBC compared has President Donald Trump's desire to hold a military parade intended to rival or at least be similar to the Bastille Day in France. Critics have accused Trump of using America's military as a political prop.
