LAX Dunes Restoration work in effect.

On July 2019, a group of Los Angeles residents came together to restore the dune near LAX (Los Angeles International Airport). Restoration work is going on at LAX Dunes. It is a community service project called LAX Dunes Restoration where residents meet other people and clean the dunes along Playa Del Ray Beach.

Many residents find enjoyment and fulfillment in cleaning the dunes around the LAX airport and Playa Del Ray Beach. Residents are having a great time volunteering. Everyone was so nice and friendly. They say it feels good helping to restore these dunes. Conservationists have declared this community service project a success.

Watch out for dust when they are working. Wind gets rid of the sand and dust real fast. Cleanup is for a limited time only. A bit of greenery near the airport is always good. Restoration work is going on full tilt. It has been a 5 year effort to restore degraded coastal sand dunes near Los Angeles International Airport. Much work is still needed to be done to preserve a view of the airport and ocean.

Not only will the LAX Dunes Restoration effort restore the view to the airport and ocean, this restoration effort will preserve life for the El Segundo Blue butterfly. The El Segundo Blue butterfly is near extinction and cannot be found anywhere else on Earth. The LAX Dunes are now property of El Segundo Blue Butterfly Preserve.
