Mixerr Album Reviews #2,096

What’s unique about the N.Y. House'n Authority ‎– Dyckman House EP is that each track is named after a low-income housing project in New York City (NYC) hence the names Ravenswood, Tilden, Dyckman, High Bridge, and Fort Green. It’s another overlooked yet under-appreciated electronic house EP from the 1980s.

Fort Green House uses an experimental style of electronic music with a slight touch of minimal house. The song serves as a tribute to house music. The song uses trippy filtered synths. Synths used in the song are delayed in such short time.

Dyckman House uses a plucky low pass filter in the synths. Production for this song is rather lo-fi and not high quality. The beats are rather thin. Dyckman House has that raw techno sound. Ravenswood House uses a lot more loudness than any of the other songs on this EP. Beats and bass give the song a loud pounding sound.

I rate this EP 4/5****!!
