You also have songs such as Short’s Revenge and Short Rida. Lil Short - Lil Short was and would have been one of the hardest gangsta rap albums from San Antonio in 1998 next to Nino - Unstoppable and Lil Sin - Who Got Yo Back.
The Lil Short - Lil Short album was first advertised in the 1997 compilation Runnin Blind under release info for future projects. The Lil Short - Lil Short album was supposed to be released on Commerce Street Records in October 1998 but the Lil Short - Lil Short album was never released for a couple of reasons.
The reason why his album was never released was because only 8-9 songs were recorded for his debut album. Sean Tompkins wanted to release full albums that had 16 to 18 tracks on them. Lil Short did not have enough songs to complete a full length album which is what Sean required during that time. He was not looking to release EPs or singles.
The other reason why Lil Short - Lil Short album was never released or promoted as heavily is because Lil Short went on the run from police to avoid being arrested for crimes he committed back in October 1998. That is why the album never got completed. A lot of those artists signed to Commerce Street Records were in and out of jail or on the run.
Lil Short of ETG (East Terrace Gang) takes control of the song Straight Rida as he explains the hustles and struggles of his life. Every day is a struggle when you are a hustler like Lil Short. The song was dedicated to those a part of the East Terrace Gang. Ricé produced the song.

The first person he planned to murder and slaughter was at Murf’s Burger. (In memory of Murf’s Better Burger) Lil Short rolls 4 deep in a Landcruiser causing down these back streets. They finna put people to sleep. They dug your ditch so you’re getting in. It’s settled. You’re as has to pay.
