This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will finally review Game Goes On by Tha S.E.T.!
This album is filled with pure gangstafied beats and dope ass lyrics, guaranteed to take you on an enjoyable G ride. This album was released on cassette only on B Up Records, 619 Productions, and Introspective Records in 1997 outta San Diego.
A horrorcore gangsta starts the intro of In Tha Game introduces Tha S.E.T. members Dat Nigga Eric, Mikey Eastbound, and Sir Devoe out of the streets of Southeast San Diego. The sound in the background gives away that cassette production sound. I like that! I love that sick ass triv bass that goes along with it. Game recognize game!
Maintain is about staying alive and maintaining your game and composure. It's about maintaining your status without going insane in this game we all call life. Haters are bad, so keep away from them as much as you can and it will be all to the good.
All I wanna I do is about makin' ends', helping friends, and smoking bud. It's about getting a piece of the pie. Other topics are addressed such as hittin' the block, dodging cops and court cases. Just keep your head in the game is all I'm sayin'.
You Didn't Care is to all the bitches who said they didn't care but now all of a sudden you're acting different. Weekend Hoes is to all the hoes that Tha S.E.T. had done fucked on the weekends and not the weekdays, I love that sick ass triv bass on the song Tha Real. Tha Real is a Southeast classic. Killa Kali Anthem is another Southeast classic.
I rate this album, Game Goes On, 5/5*****.
