How the environment of Australia works.

The effects of climate certainly play a role in the metropolitan/rural divide in the Australian environment. As most of Australia is considered as uninhabitable and unlivable thus leaving much of the continent of Australia deserted.

The environment of the Australian central region is the hardest most land to inhabit or live on.
For example, the small city of Alice Springs is surrounded by desert. Nearly all of the city of Alice Springs is surrounded by desert to be exact. Most of Australia's central region is arid desert land. The coast of Australia is not so much desert or desolate. There are many vast lands of rough rural desert considered to be uninhabitable and unfavorable. Most of Australia has been considered as uninhabitable and unlivable for human life for much of Australia's history. Most of the land has always been desert ever since Australia was discovered by the British monarchy.

Subtropical cities such as Brisbane and Perth have much brighter subtropical weather year round than the rest of the continent of Australia. The city of Melbourne is close to the Australian coastline giving the city access to a more subtropical beach breeze. Floods do occur in beach cities of Australia due to their close proximity to the warm subtropical weather from the Australian coastline.
