This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will review the Toni Braxton & Babyface - Love, Marriage, & Divorce album from 2014/2016.
Toni Braxton and Babyface collaborate as a duo on this album for the first time ever in music history! They are both songwriters who have been through the trials and errors of love, marriage, and divorce. Hence the album title. The sounds of quiet storm R&B and sultry neo Soul make the album rich in quality for the listeners. 2014 was a good year them both.
The term that would describe the song Roller Coaster is "emotional roller coaster". Title for such track is appropriate. One day you're so mad at your lover you can't control yourself. But you can't love nobody else. You so sick and tired of these changes. It's a love/hate relationship with your lover. Back and forth on emotions. That's what happens when love takes over your emotions. This type of thing was inevitable.
Hurt You deals with the hurt and emotional pain of loving someone. Loving someone can cause so much pain. So why apologize? You never meant to hurt that person you loved dearly. You did them wrong so many times. But you never dreamed that they would cheat on you.
Take It Back is a throwback song. Take It Back takes it back to the glory days. Where the nights consisted of making love. They want to take it back to the way it was. They know they are fully capable of taking it back to the glory days. The odds are stacked against us in this day in time.
