Mixerr Album Reviews #1,006

This is Michael Mixerr. I am going to review on this sunny day Malayky - Radykal Roots.

Radykal Roots was album that was recorded in 2000, but given the socio-political problems that the Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire) was facing at that time, the album was never completed. The Radykal Roots album was recorded at his Humble Ark Records studio in Bamako, Mali. The Radykal Roots album was considered legendary during its time of recording given the huge vocal qualities and the musical arrangements performed by Manjul and Malayky, reggae fans among all people can see why Radykal Roots is considered a legendary album. (A legendary reggae album at that.)

Malayky takes us as listeners on a glorious delight of a journey through world music and reggae music on this album called Radykal Roots. Hard work through perseverance and courage is the result of the Radykal Roots album. Malayky shows his perseverance through hard work on this album. His songs depicting the scenes of everyday life in the Ivory Coast and struggles youth go through when living in the ghetto making Malayky the voice of the voiceless. Malayky does his best at trying convey a strong message through his music. Some people view Malayky as a revolutionary in this sense. Malayky sings about issues Africans face in a sensitive manner which Reggae artists commit themselves to.

To sum it all up… Radykal Roots is a legendary reggae album ahead of its time. Radykal Roots is the best reggae album to come from the continent of Africa making Radykal Roots the best African Reggae album to date so far. Radykal Roots is an album African music lovers will enjoy in the years to come.

I rate this album, Radykal Roots, 5/5*****!!
