This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will review Norah Jones - The Fall.
In terms of promotion, Capitol Records and Blue Note did not put forth very much effort into promoting The Fall album from 2009 as they did with Come Away With Me, Feels Like Home, and Thinking About You. In fact, The Fall undersold what Thinking About You sold. The Fall went platinum selling 1 million units while Thinking About You went 2x platinum selling 2 million units. It was probably due to the issue also that Norah Jones had taken a new direction by experimenting with different sounds and dealing with a new set of collaborators. One notable producer being Jacquire King, along with Ryan Adams, and frequent partner Jesse Harris. Those are the reasons why The Fall didn’t sell too well.
I rate this album, The Fall, 3/5***.
