This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will do a review on Lil Black - We All Gone Die.
For those who don't know, Lil Black was raised in Elgin, Texas, which is a small country town outside of Austin, Texas. He has had 2 records on the "Texas Artist Top 40 Countdown" back in 2000 and 2001 with one of them being Back On The Road as Song of the Year for 2000 as well as holding down the number 1 spot for 5 straight weeks. For those of you who are from Austin, you all may remember that Lil Black had told the story of his life and how he shamed his family by choosing the street life in the Austin American Statesman front page in 2001. (He made news 1999, 2000, and 2001.)
The song We All Gone Die is about death. This track was a dedication to his father (Nathan Mackey Sr.). Topics such as that are common throughout the album. We All Gone Die is an ATX G-Funk classic and a country rap classic. Soulful ballads can be heard on this album too with the backing vocals of Terrell Shahid and T-Baby. The productions by Tim Bailey, Salih of Carnival Beats Entertainment, and T-Baby are on point. Nothing wrong there. It features Lil Keke, C-Note, Kottonmuth, CKC (Ciller Klan Clic) members T-Baby, S.A. Fool, and Gangsta Lo.
I rate this album, We All Gone Die, 5/5*****!
