William Larcell Charles blackballed by both Ced Singleton and Black Market Records.

From 1991 to 1997, William Larcell Charles (LA Chill) worked for Ced Singleton as an executive producer at Black Market Records. He worked as both a producer and engineer there during his tenure in the music business. It was due to Ced Singleton’s corrupt business practices that LA Chill did not get a fair handshake by the music business he deserved.

In 1992, LA Chill produced That Sickness track for the X-Raided - Psycho Active album. Not Brotha Lynch Hung as Ced Singleton alleges! William Larcell Charles clearly states a claim that Ced Singleton still owes him mechanical royalties for That Sickness track that appeared on the X-Raided - Psycho Active album. Ced Singleton never paid Willie Charles (LA Chill) mechanical royalties and publishing royalties for the 1992 X-Raided - Psycho Active album either. X-Raided and Ced Singleton wrote half of the songs and not all of them. Ced Singleton took away publishing royalties from LA Chill.

From the timespan of 1994 to 1996, William Larcell Charles (LA Chill) acted as the executive producer along with Ced Singleton for the 1996 X-Raided - Xorcist album. LA Chill’s name is all over the Xorcist album for that very reason. His name (LA Chill) listen on both sides on the inserts.

Ced Singleton released the X-Raided - Xorcist album without the permission of Willie Charles and copyrighted the Xorcist album without no contract. (That is a federal offense!) William Larcell Charles (LA Chill) did not give Ced Singleton permission to release the Xorcist album nor did he give Black Market Records any distribution rights either for retail release of this particular album to be released.

Ced Singleton also “claims” he published Xorcist. The truth is Ced Singleton wrote none of the songs and not all of them. Both X-Raided (Anarae V. Brown) and Ced Singleton cheated Willie Charles out of both mechanical royalties and publishing royalties for the Xorcist album because they wanted the money for themselves. Ced Singleton and X-Raided never paid Willie Charles (LA Chill) mechanical royalties and publishing royalties for the 1996 X-Raided - Xorcist album ever. Despite that, Willie Charles and X-Raided had split the publishing royalties for the 1996 Xorcist album. Both X-Raided and Ced Singleton still owe William Larcell Charles (LA Chill) mechanical royalties and publishing royalties for the 1996 X-Raided - Xorcist album.

William Larcell Charles lawfully owns the full copyright to the X-Raided - Xorcist album as he owns the Xorcist reel to reels to this day for which he clearly maintains. He rightfully owns full copyright to the X-Raided - Xorcist album. X-Raided owns his lyrics regardless of the copyrights involved for this case. They never signed no agreements or contracts for the Xorcist album at the time.

As for the latest updates…

California Bankruptcy Court cleared Black Market Records of all debt and legal obligations to all of the titles that were included in the bankruptcy from 2005. Ced Singleton settled with the debtors and the lawyers which closed in the year of 2015. Although Ced Singleton never added William Larcell Charles as a creditor to the Black Market Records bankruptcy because he wasn't named in the publishing. Ced kept him out of everything. In other words, William Larcell Charles was blackballed. They never signed no agreements or contracts.

To this day, X-Raided and Ced Singleton still owe LA Chill mechanical royalties and publishing royalties for the X-Raided - Xorcist album. He claims he never saw any royalty checks from either party. Publishing rights from BMI mandated LA Chill be paid both mechanical royalties and publishing royalties. Black October (BMI) never paid LA Chill.

William Larcell Charles lawfully owns the full copyright to the X-Raided - Xorcist album as he owns the Xorcist reel to reels to this day for which he clearly maintains. He owns portions of publishing for the Xorcist album in a legal sense.

In conclusion to this news review, that is exactly how William Larcell Charles was blackballed by both Ced Singleton and Black Market Records. LA Chill did not get a fair handshake by the music business he deserved due to Ced Singleton’s corrupt business practices.
