City of Austin, Texas to face onslaught of heavy rain from Hurricane Harvey update.

From August 25, 2017 to August 28, 2017, the city of Austin, Texas had been experiencing an onslaught of heavy rain in part due to Hurricane Harvey hitting the Gulf Coast near the coastal line of Texas.

A 100% percent chance of rain was reported by meteorologists. An average of 3 inches from rainfall was collected in Austin. Heavy winds damaged several trees. Heavy winds hit the city of Austin hard along with the onslaught of heavy rain that Texas is currently facing. Damage done was critical. Some neighborhoods such as Northwest Hills and Mesa have faced a power outage. The last power outage lasted an hour.

In the afternoon of August 28, 2017, the rain finally stopped. School resumed as usual. Del Valle ISD and Lexington ISD have shut down and closed their schools on a temporary basis. Luling ISD closed down as well. The school year for the school districts of Del Valle ISD, Lexington ISD, Bastrop ISD, Elgin ISD, and Luling ISD will resume in 2 weeks.
