Zimbabwe Legit was the first real legit African Hip Hop/Rap group to come out of the continent of Africa to sign a recording contract to a major record label, The group Zimbabwe Legit is from the country of Zimbabwe located in the continent of Africa henceforth the name of their group. Music performed by Zimbabwe Legit is done by real Africans.

Zimbabwe Legit was against indoctrination in news media for the masses with Afro-Centric based beliefs. Zimbabwe Legit has spoken up against political corruption against politicians and community leaders along with business executives.
Zimbabwe Legit received worldwide recognition in the music business and in news media in 1992 and 1994. They had a small cult following in the 1990s. But due to music business and politics, the industry never understood how to market them to the masses. Their success did not last long. Their label Hollywood BASIC dropped them after low album sales. That’s why and how Zimbabwe Legit has always been overlooked. Even today, Zimbabwe Legit has remained overlooked.
