Ball High School merged with Central High School in 1968. This reorganization created the need for the merging of the former Sam Houston Junior High School at 4116 Avenue N, and the main high school structure, at 4115 Avenue 0, into the two-campus Ball High School, which still serves the students of Galveston today. The original campus is often referred to as Ball High South, while the former Sam Houston campus is familiarly known as Ball High North. (Ref: https://www.revolvy.com/page/Ball-High-School?cr=1)
Sam Houston Junior High School became Ball High North in 1969. This was because the student population was too large for the present building already existing. The North campus reverted to an elementary school called Charles B. Scott Elementary School, named in honor of Charles B. Scott, a long-time Ball High School counselor.
Sam Houston Junior High School is located at 4116 Avenue N, Galveston, Texas, US 77550.
