Mixerr Album Reviews #2,131

J.P. The Unknown - It's The… is one of the darker albums from Toledo, Ohio that is similar to State Of Cykosis. This album is a very dark album with dark themes and vibes. Not to mention mood. This album uses live instrumentation instead of processed instrumentation through electronic technology with the thick bass, slow beats, and reverb. The sound is reminiscent of horrorcore rap and bares much similarity. Toledo rap can’t get any darker than this.

5 Minutes of Madness is the opener for the album. It’s a 5 minute long freestyle filled with madness. J.P. The Unknown is in full effect. He can’t be touched. You don’t know him.

Most of the lyrics to this song are hard to decipher due to the instrumentation over lapping his vocals. This makes things difficult for both listeners and critics alike. That’s not to say the instrumentation is perfectly balanced. The instrumentation overlaps the vocals.

The Attic is one of the darker songs on his album. Notice how his vocals echo during the beginning. The song uses   thick beats and very bass which blend in perfectly with the dark vibe and sound. The echo inside his vocals resonate which sometimes makes what he is rapping hard to understand. His vocals bounce off the walls in other words.

J.P. The Unknown tells us, “You are about to be a witness to the total truth.” Another night of horror whilchilling in the attic. Nights are getting longer. Eyes loom from the basement. There’s some funk going on in the basement now. The sound of rattling chains won’t stop. The neighbors won’t experience this because they can’t see the light.  There is nothing you can do. So let J.P. get on with his life.

Maybe that noise is from the lamb that lives in the basement. He just kept walking. Floorboards are creaking and eerie sounds continue to leak. Take a look before you go. It’s dramatic in the attic. There is tension in such dark presence.

The madman is back with a new track full of funk. Tonight is the night he is coming to get you. Be very scared as he is one of those silent type killers. He rips the bodies of his victims apart up in the attic. There are skeletons in his closet. Only the madman has the key to this closet. Spirits keep haunting him. These spirits are of the victims he killed.

The title track is a self-explanatory track about who J.P. really is. The track has a haunting vibe and dark sound. Treble has been significantly reduced but the bass is super heavy. So adjust the volume for your speakers to a low setting. J.P. busts out dark raps.

I rate this album 4/5****!
