An abandoned Standard Oil gas station is now part of "Operation Paint Saginaw”. Some underground artists have made an abandoned Standard Oil gas station a part of "Operation Paint Saginaw". "Operation Paint Saginaw” is a community service project where underground artists go around and paint abandoned buildings located within the city limits of Saginaw, Michigan.
These underground artists believed that painting this abandoned gas station would help beautify Saginaw. Which is why they decided to paint their art on the Standard Oil gas station. Eric Schantz is the artist responsible for painting this abandoned gas station with art. He has done murals around Saginaw.
This Standard Oil gas station was once operated by Standard Oil Co and Killmer Electric Corp from 1924 to 2005. The property was in use until the 2008 recession hit Saginaw leaving the owners to abandon this building and property. Today this property is owned and managed by WASHINGTON STREET INVESTMENTS LLC. It is unclear as to why WASHINGTON STREET INVESTMENTS LLC has decided to do nothing with this building.
This abandoned Standard Oil gas station is located at 203 Atwater Street, Saginaw, Michigan, US 48601.
